Album «Push The Sky Away» schuf der australische Crooner Nick Cave mit seiner Band The Bad Seeds ein Highlight in der umfangreichen Diskographie. Mit dabei Caves langjähriger Drummer, der Zürcher Thomas Wydler. Wir drehen die Zeit zurück. «Push The Sky Away» erschien am 15. Febraur 2013. On this episode of the Blind Tiger Record Club Podcast, David W. Williams is joined by Kevin Lee and Jonathan Hibma to present the first ever B.T.R.C. Podcast Special Event:  The Top 10 Halloween Songs of All Time.  On this show, we will discuss songs by  Stevie Wonder, The Doors, Michael Jackson, Warren Zevon, Blue Oyster Cult, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Ray Parker Jr, AC/DC, Rockwell, and Bobby "Boris" Pickett & the Crypt Kickers.  The songs are discussed and clips of songs are played.  We talk about charts, both at the time of the song's original release and any "re-entry" into Billboard's Hot 100 every Halloween.  We discuss TV and Film syncs, and the many cultural impacts that all the songs have had which is why they are on our G.O.A.T. list. We also present other important Halloween songs that are TV Themes, big film songs, or other culturally important songs as our transitions between each song on our Top 10 list.  This allows the panel to discuss ten more songs that include Halloween defining songs such as the themes of John Carpenter's Halloween, Tales from the Crypt, The Twilight Zone, Addams Family, and Stranger Things.  We also discuss other soundtrack and Halloween songs like Danny Elfman's "This Is Halloween" from Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' "Red Right Hand" made famous by the Scream franchise.  Andrew Gold's internet sensation "Spooky Scary Skeletons" and the genre bending song by the godfathers of "Horror Punk", the Misfits' "Halloween".  We also discuss a second song from the Stranger Things franchise that utilizes an amazing sampling of Journey's "Separate Ways". It's a really fun way to celebrate a lot of the incredible music surrounding Halloween.     Whether or not you are a member of Blind Tiger Record Club, the B.T.R.C. Ian White - Gallon Drunk & Lydia Lunch - in conversation with David Eastaugh Revered drummer Ian White releases his first solo project, named Blyth, the compelling instrumental album entitled, Confessions of a Justified Sinner. Since 1993, Ian White has been a key member of the influential and passionate UK band Gallon Drunk, playing drums on six critically acclaimed albums – In The Long Still Night (1996), Black Milk soundtrack (1999), Fire Music (2002), The Rotten Mile (2007), The Road Gets Darker from Here (2012) and the band's last LP, The Soul Of The Hour (2014). In 2009, with Gallon Drunk guitarist, organist and lead vocalist James Johnston and venerated saxophonist Terry Edwards, Ian White was a founder member of Big Sexy Noise; visionary No Wave singer, performer and writer Lydia Lunch's vehicle for spirited musical adventures. To date, Big Sexy Noise have delivered two highly commended albums – their eponymous 2009 debut and the stirring Trust The Witch (2011). During 2002, Ian White played drums live for Barry Adamson (a founder member of Magazine, The Bad Seeds and soundtrack composer), who was touring his Mute album King of Nothing Hill, and in 2016 he contributed to former member of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' James Johnston's debut solo album, The Starless Room. Today, as Blyth, Ian White moves to the foreground for his premier self-penned recording, Confessions of a Justified Sinner. Written, arranged and performed by Ian White, recorded with Blyth mixer Giles Barrett during December 2019 and January 2020 at Soup Studios and The Silver Building, London E16, Confessions of a Justified Sinner is a propulsive and hypnotic vortex of enticing sonic attack and daring. Featuring strategic contributions from James Johnston, on guitar and additional piano, together with former Gallon Drunk bassist Jeremy Cottingham on lead and wah guitar, Confessions of a Justified Sinner is a thrilling, episodic soundscape, evoking distant echoes of experiential European bands of the past, contemporary sample driven music and elements of free jazz.

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis publican banda sonora. El cartel del Best Kept Secret 2022 sale a la luz (The Strokes, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds…). Years & Years y Galantis lanzan el nuevo single ‘Sweet Talker'. The Hepburns publican “Architecture Of The Ages”. Pedro Guerra, Elure, Jazzazza regresa cn swing (Ray Gelato y Enric Peidro), APHONNIC, Satarra Party (Barrio Dinamita), Rat-Zinger, Lady Ma Belle y Martina Efedra, Atientas y Carmesí, Escuchando Elefantes, Ainoa Buitrago, Bejo

This month we're back travelling through time, but just a short trip this time, back to the seemingly very recent 2013, where we were all still regularly listening to cds (and even cassettes in colin's case as his car back then was impressively primitive), but other than that, pretty much wearing the same clothes as we do now. Listen to us battle eachother to discover our collective favourite songs of the 2013 and alog the way uncover Ian's traumatic Japanese Noise flashbacks, Colin's language blindness, Tracey's utter desperation to obtain more points, and we question exactly how tall Ed Sheeran actually is... We've each chosen our 10 favourite songs of the year and sent them over to Ian's wife Lydia, who put the playlists together and distributed them so we were each given a playlist of the 20 songs from the other two hosts, along with our own 10. We then ranked the playlists in order of preference and sent them to Colin's wife Helen, who totalled up the points and worked out the order. Helen also joined us on the episode to read out the countdown, which we found out as we recorded so all reactions are genuine. Now, admittedly, in parts we're a little bit brutal to some of the songs in the list as we're three separate people with differing music tastes, but please remember that to be in this episode at all the songs have to have been in one of our top 10's of that year. We've also been talking about Tracey's over familiarity with Polly Jean Harvey, Unexpected Fall influencers & highly inappropriate reasons for cheering at festivals. Bands featured in this episode include (In alphabetical order, no spoilers here!) - Alkaline Trio, Aphex Twin, The Beta Band, Bjork, Camera Obscura, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Converge, Dntel, Mark Eitzel, Explosions In The Sky, The Faint, The Frames, Life Without Buildings, Lift To Experience, Low, Mercury Rev, Ministry, Mogwai, Opeth, Roots Manuva, Shaggy, A Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra La La Band, Sparklehorse ft PJ Harvey, Spiritualized, Stars Of The Lid, System Of A Down, Thursday, Tool, Tweaker Ft Craig Wedren & The White Stripes.Find all songs in alphabetical order here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3gV7poFnVyo3DouBDMR48Q?si=daef4c9b7c9f4147Find our We Dig Music Pollwinners Party playlist (featuring all of the winning songs up until now) here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/45zfDHo8zm6VqrvoEQSt3z?si=Ivt0oMj6SmitimvumYfFrQ If you want to listen to megalength playlists of all the songs we've individually picked since we started doing best of the year episodes, you can listen to Colin's here – https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5x3Vy5Jry2IxG9JNOtabRT?si=HhcVKRCtRhWCK1KucyrDdg Ian's here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2H0hnxe6WX50QNQdlfRH5T?si=XmEjnRqISNqDwi30p1uLqA and Tracey's here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2p3K0n8dKhjHb2nKBSYnKi?si=7a-cyDvSSuugdV1m5md9Nw The playlist of 20 songs from the other two hosts was scored as usual, our favourite song got 20 points, counting down incrementally to our least favourite which got 1 point. The scoring of our own list of 10 is now slightly more complicated in order to give a truer level of points to our own favourites. So rather than them only being able to score as many points as our 10th favourite in the other list, the points in our own list were distributed as follows -1st place - 20 points2nd place - 18 points3rd place – 16 points4th place – 14 points5th place – 12 points6th place – 9 points7th place – 7 points8th place – 5 points9th place – 3 points10th place -1 pointHosts - Ian Clarke, Colin Jackson-Brown & Tracey BGuest starring Helen Jackson-Brown.Playlist compiling/distributing – Lydia ClarkeRecorded/Edited/Mixed/Original Music by Colin Jackson-Brown for We Dig PodcastsThanks to Peter Latimer for help with the scoring system.Say hello at www.facebook.com/wedigmusicpcast or tweet us at http://twitter.com/wedigmusicpcast or look at shiny pictures on Instagram at http://instagram.com/wedigmusicpcast Part of the We Made This podcast network. https://twitter.com/wmt_network You can also find all the We Dig Music & Free With This Months Issue episodes at www.wedigpodcasts.com Support the We Made This podcast network on Patreon: www.patreon.com/wemadethis
