Ridge's plan might involve reuniting Steffy with her ex-husband, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), as he sees him as a safer option for his daughter and grandchildren. Steffy is horrified to discover that Luna (Lisa Yamada), the woman who previously drugged and kidnapped her, is her stepdaughter.  Bold and Beautiful sees the situation intensifies as Steffy's parents encourage her to leave Finn, but she remains committed to her marriage vows. Meanwhile, Ridge becomes more concerned about the dangers lurking in Finn's family. Steffy's situation is further complicated by the revelation that Luna is not in prison but under house arrest at Bill Spencer's (Don Diamont) estate. The upcoming episodes may see Ridge actively encouraging Liam to fight for Steffy, and it remains to be seen whether Steffy will leave Finn and consider reuniting with Liam.  Visit our Bold and the Beautiful section of Soap Dirt: https://soapdirt.com/category/bold-and-the-beautiful/ Listen to our Podcasts: https://soapdirt.podbean.com/ Check out our always up-to-date Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers page at: https://soapdirt.com/bold-and-the-beautiful-spoilers/ Check Out our Social Media... Pearl Jam's short Australia/New Zealand is underway, and the next stop on the map is Melbourne! It's a city that has a very rich history with this band featuring countless of classic shows from the early 90's. Due to special Patreon request, this week we are covering the 2009 show. It's a different setlist than what we covered from Auckland last week, but we'll dig into more Backspacer deep cuts, crowd friendly moments and Ben Harper collaborations. Some of you may know Javier's frustration with 2009 from a sound perspective, how they were using tube amps that did not aid some of the intricacies that Stone and Mike add to specific songs when they play. We'll have a good long discussion on how all of that works from both the technical and non-technical POVs, and present examples of songs it benefits and others that it doesn't. We have some great moments in this set to get into including Indifference and Red Mosquito with Ben Harper, Throw Your Arms Around Me with Liam Finn and a version of Porch that unleashes the best of Stone Gossard. Pearl Jam goes back on the road this week, and for the first time in ten years, they are making stops in Australia and New Zealand! The run will begin in Auckland, which is where our episode this week took place in on the 2009 Backspacer tour. Thanks to our Kiwi friend, Chris Warne, for putting in this episode request through our Patreon. He'll have info on some fun stuff going down at the shows, including the post-game reaction spots. This show offers a very unique OTOTO performance that you'll only get when touring the country. With the help of Neil and Liam Finn, there's an excellent performance of a song called Not Given Lightly by local legend, Chris Knox. We'll spend good time on this rarity that you may not have heard before. Other big highlights include one of the best versions of Severed Hand you'll ever hear, an amazing version of Faithfull, the uber rare Hold On played for only the second time, a fired up main set closing with Better Man and Red Mosquito featuring Ben Harper on slide guitar. All that, and we prepare for the upcoming tour starting this weekend! Click to Subscribe:  https://bit.ly/Youtube-Subscribe-SoapDirt Bold and Beautiful fans are in for a treat as Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) makes a dramatic return to the CBS soap. After a hiatus following his wedding to Britney Atkinson and an extended honeymoon, Thomas' return promises a significant impact on fellow characters like Hope, Steffy, Liam Finn, and the Forrester family. Fans have been teased with spoiler photos, hinting at Thomas's reappearance on sets. Atkinson's return is expected to not only bring an end to the awkward flirtation between Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) but also serve as Hope's protector against the Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) threat. With rumors of Hope attending Sheila's wedding, Thomas's return might be expedited on B&B.  Moreover, his comeback should save the struggling "Hope for the Future" line, facing challenges due to Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) and Zende Forrester's (Delon de Metz) tension. Being a previous savior, Thomas could once again be Hope's saving grace. The dynamic between Hope and Thomas is expected to reignite as Hope is reminded of her feelings for him. Boundaries will need to be set to protect Thomas's heart and his son, Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri). The coming weeks will reveal if Hope takes a step forward in their relationship. As fans eagerly await Thomas's screen return, they anticipate a wave of drama and excitement on Bold and the Beautiful. #143 - Sexy Sadie with musician Elroy Finn (ELROY, Crowded House, Liam Finn, Wild Nothing)

It's no secret that John Lennon was often trying to fill the hole left his parents' absence. His need of a father figure had definite impacts on his relationships with men his senior and of perceived power, like Brian Epstein and George Martin. The same could be said about Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Once turned on to his teaching, John immediately dove into his teachings of transcendental meditation and was eager to study at his ashram. Stories (along with video and pictures) show John jockeying for proximity to the guru, most comically when he made his way into the lone passenger seat of the Maharishi's helicopter ride, later telling the others he hoped that he might "slip him the secret." So when it appeared that Maharishi may not be the more-than-mystical figure they'd thought him to be, John's wrath was quick and sharp. It was in the taxi ride out of Rishikesh that he began singing a VERY explicit melody to himself about Maharishi, George Harrison asking him not to be quite so brutal in his lyrics. In changing the subject from a man accused of sexual misconduct to "Sexy Sadie," an imaginary woman who made a fool of everyone, he may be doing a disservice to both the song and himself. That said, it's a fine song, however, to me, it feels uncomfortable in inself, never quite settling in. The recording was incredibly labored over, hours and hours of overdubs, arrangements and effects recorded and removed. In that light, it makes one wonder if that's maybe an attempt to distract from a story John maybe wasn't quite as upset about months later. Joining us this week from the future (and the past) in his New Zealand home is musician Elroy Finn. While on a pandemic-induced break from touring in Crowded House (he's the youngest son of Neil Finn), he wrote, recorded, produced, and mixed his debut solo album, "ELROY." It's a vibey, mellow collection of synthy-psychedelic melody, and we highly recommend it! We chat with Elroy about different Beatles records soundtracking different parts of your life, growing up in a musical household, whether this is a replaceable song on the White Album, meeting Paul, and much more! “Worth The Wait” The New Zealand poet John Allison once wrote: “In dividing the light, things are seen. And we notice ourselves.” That division of light and ensuing glimpse of ones true self is the perfect description of the work of one of Allison's native New Zealanders, Elroy Finn. Finn's debut solo album, simply titled Elroy, is a shimmering collection of sonorous indie pop that manages to be both spare and textured at the same time. Finn is a master of musical light division and his work is brimming with low-fi folk, thoughtful psychedelia, pure poetry, and a lot of heart. Finn is no stranger to the stage, having toured with Wild Nothing and his brother Liam, and as part of his dad's band Crowded House. But in crafting the gentle song cycle of his album, Elroy Finn took a long look at himself and that kind of honest introspection yielded results that are both intimate and universal. The songs are bleached in sun, doused in surf and then coaxed into the clouds, where they hang as resplendent as stars. Catchy, bewitching and infectious in the most deviously subversive of ways, Elroy is a revelation—an artistic triumph that's as charming as it is beguiling. www.grandphony.com www.bombshellradio.com www.alexgreenonline.com Stereo Embers The Podcast: Twitter: @emberseditor Instagram: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

Now they’re finally playing together, when Neil can get time off from his Fleetwood mac duties. They recently made an album, Lightsleeper. On this week’s show, Mac DeMarco sits down with Neil Finn (Crowded House, Split Enz, Fleetwood Mac) and Liam Finn on the occasion of the father and son’s new LP Lightsleeper. Their chat took place in Mac’s Los Angeles garage studio (he's gone full Marc Maron!), and covered a lot. We hear about the artistic freedoms and constraints that Mac experiences; the pluses and minuses of falling in love with one’s demos; Neil’s shopping trip with Mick Fleetwood; why hiring a dominatrix can really help the recording process; and so much more. Neil and Liam Finn have released their first album together, Lightsleeper. Andrew Dickens has been listening ...As Neil Finn readies himself to embark on his grand Fleetwood Mac adventure he has released a new album in collaboration with his son Liam called Lightsleeper.  Actually, the whole family is involved, Neil’s wife and Liam’s mum, Sharon, guests as bassist on a couple of tracks and Liam’s brother, Elroy, drums on all, bar three, songs. The other songs feature some drummer called Mick Fleetwood. I A sonically lush, downbeat yet dreamy production.  Complex and yet simple and featuring many multi segment songs that are more like mini pop symphonies.  If you liked Dizzy Heights and Out of Silence you’ll see where this is going.  It’s a masterclass in composition. 9/10

Liam Finn is a world class musician. He has shared stages and played alongside some of the great icons of our time and always holds his own. Whether it’s playing with his dad Neil Finn in Crowded House or singing alongside Eddie Vedder, opening for Queens Of The Stone Age or Coldplay or Wilco (and heaps more!), Liam has done it and nailed it. His solo records inhabit a world completely of their own and he is not confined by any current trend which is what I love about him. We sat down to discuss becoming a father, not writing songs that are too happy, the positive qualities of heroin consumption and lots more.   All music on the podcast by Joshua Moriarty & All The Colours   Neil & Liam Finn ‘Back To Life’ video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z8iOoVEAUo   live video of ‘Burn Up The Road’ on Liam’s rooftop in NYC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eon16SN6QRM   The Phoenix Foundation song ’40 years’ that makes me cry every time! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz5qUPpuAFM

The aftermath of Record Store Day left Terry overwhelmed in the best possible way.  This episode explores the variety of music that came his way over roughly a four-to-six week period.  As the title of the episode would suggest, XTC does play a small part.  However, that Skylarking reissue is discussed as well as compliations from Numero Group, Rough Guide & Light In The Attic.  Then there are the recent releases and reissues from Courtney Barnett, Flaming Lips, The Both, Tori Amos, Liam Finn, Wye Oak, R.E.M. and The Zombies.  In short, if there isn't any music for you then Terry would suggest seeking some out at your "local" record store.  If you don't know of one then recordstoreday.com might be able to help.  Please support your local, independently minded record stores. For more episodes or to show some support for the podcast, you can subscribe, download and comment on the podcast on iTunes.  Downloads of the podcast are available at flickeringwaves.com.  There is also a Flickering Waves YouTube which has playlists for this and earlier episodes. Episode 4 will celebrates the 20th anniversary of the release of Guided by Voices' classic Bee Thousand.  And given their two 2014 releases, they too get a brief mention in this episode of the podcast.  A lot of music to talk about but not in a lot of time so don't be surprise if some of this resurfaces in upcoming episodes.
