The Truth and Consequences podcast is truly a gem in the world of healing and personal growth. Hosted by Miranda, this podcast delves deep into difficult topics surrounding traumatization and the healing journey. With each episode, Miranda and her incredible guests provide insight, affirmation, and guidance that can be tremendously helpful for anyone navigating their own healing journey. The authenticity and vulnerability expressed throughout the episodes make it a must-listen for survivors of childhood abuse.
One of the best aspects of The Truth and Consequences podcast is the variety of perspectives shared by survivors of childhood abuse. Each guest brings their unique experiences and journeys to the table, creating a rich tapestry of stories that listeners can relate to and find solace in. This diversity allows for a well-rounded understanding of different aspects of trauma and healing, providing a comprehensive resource for those seeking guidance or validation.
Furthermore, Miranda's empathetic ear as a host shines through in each episode. She creates a safe space for guests to share their difficult stories, making them feel heard and validated. This empathetic approach not only fosters an environment where guests feel comfortable opening up but also makes listeners feel seen and understood. The discussions on this podcast are raw, honest, and immensely enlightening.
While The Truth and Consequences podcast excels in many areas, there are few aspects that could be improved upon. Firstly, although there is a wide range of topics covered, it would be beneficial to delve deeper into certain subjects. For example, as suggested by one listener, an episode discussing how memory works when one endured childhood sexual abuse from an early age would greatly benefit survivors looking to understand their own experiences better.
In conclusion, The Truth and Consequences podcast is an invaluable resource for survivors of childhood abuse as well as anyone interested in learning about trauma and healing. Miranda's bravery in discussing such delicate subjects should be commended as it paves the way for important conversations surrounding these issues. The insight, affirmation, and healing journeys shared on this podcast are truly life-changing. I highly recommend adding this podcast to your subscription list.

Our guests on this episode are survivor/advocates, Chelsea Maldonado and Amanda Simmons who educate us on the so-called ‘troubled teen' industry, a system of residential youth treatment facilities & programs. Many of these facilities operate more like prisons where children as young as nine are routinely abused in an extreme system of behavior modification, prevented from telling their parents what's going on, and kept for unnecessarily long stretches while reaping enormous revenue for the facilities. Thousands of minors are in these places today, in America and abroad. Paris Hilton recently came forward about the traumatic experiences she endured at Provo Canyon School (and several wilderness programs), and her voice helped spark an interest in the movement known as #Breaking Code Silence.Sign the petition to close Provo Canyon School launched by Paris Hilton.Learn more about the TTI. Leigh Corfman went public with sexual abuse allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore in 2017. She was 14 when she says Moore, 32 and an asst. DA, groomed and abused her. Nine other women also came forward with stories of their own. It's been a difficult road for Leigh, but she says she would do it all over again. In a case that wrapped up earlier this year, Leigh sued Roy Moore for defamation, saying he painted her as a liar while denying her accusations of child sexual abuse. Stephen, whose father died when he was four, places his trust in this authority figure, who first grooms and then molests him for two years. Stephen tells no one, but the aftershocks rip through his adult life, as intense as his denial: self-loathing, drug abuse, petty crime, and horrific nightmares, all made worse by the discovery that his abuser is moving from camp to camp, state to state, molesting other boys. Only physical and mental collapse bring Stephen to confront the truth of his boyhood and begin the painful process of recovery--as well as a decades-long crusade to stop a serial predator, find justice, and hold to account those who failed the children in their care. The trauma of sexual abuse is shared by one out of every six men, yet very few have broken their silence. Unflinching and compulsively readable, CHOSEN eloquently speaks for those countless others and their families. It is a rare act of consummate courage and generosity--the indelible story of a man who faces his torment and his tormentor and, in the process, is made whole.
