In this mini-episode of Untidy, Steph Campbell shares her extraordinary journey to heal her daughter’s extreme food intolerances. Steph found herself facing a stark reality: she would have to live indefinitely on only three foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner — lamb, leeks and green beans. Even the smallest mistake, as she breastfed her baby daughter, sent them to hospital. Desperate for a solution when no one else could help, Steph discovered the power of a supportive community of mums, and gut healing through anaerobic fermentation — and within just weeks, everything changed. Off the back of Steph’s life-changing discovery, she founded Clover Ferments, a company born from a mother’s love, sheer grit and determination! Steph’s story is filled with hope for anyone struggling with allergies, gut issues, or feeling let down by the traditional system. In this episode of Untidy, Matilda and Hannah are joined by internationally renowned exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist Dr Stacy Sims — a trailblazer on a mission to revolutionise how women train, eat, and perform. Known for her viral TED Talk “Women Are Not Small Men”, bestselling book Roar, and over 100 peer-reviewed papers, Stacy has dedicated her career to closing the gender gap in sports science. In this conversation, she dives into the often-overlooked physiological and emotional challenges girls face during puberty — challenges that are too often misunderstood or ignored, causing many to lose confidence and drop out of sport. With her new course NEXT GEN, Stacy is focused on educating coaches and parents to better support developing girls. She explores how puberty impacts performance, confidence, and injury risk, and why it’s crucial to rethink how we train and talk to our daughters. From the damaging effects of language like “girl pushups” and “sissy squats,” to the ripple effects of diet culture and uniform design, Stacy highlights the changes we need to make — and how to do it. This episode is a rallying cry to shift the culture around girls’ health, sport, and self-image — and to give them the tools, language, and support they deserve. They unpack the complexities of perimenopause and holistic health with naturopath Emily Rose Yates.  Emily Rose Yates is a highly respected naturopath with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Naturopathy, alongside advanced diplomas in herbal medicine, nutrition, and homeopathy. Practising since 2007, Emily has dedicated her career to women's health, specialising in women's hormones and perimenopause. She is passionate about empowering women with tools to navigate health challenges holistically and aims to bridge the gap between natural health practices and traditional medical care with her evidence-based approach. Emily is also a mother of three and an advocate for supporting mothers and families to thrive. Emily shares her insights into how perimenopause affects both physical and mental well-being. Relatable rants, the 90's poo, and dead bird decluttering

In this episode of Untidy, Matty and Hannah kick things off with a relatable rant fuelled by a morning of cat sick surprises and premenstrual rage. Matty has a beef with the cosmetic industry and their unreasonable routines, endless serums, and the pointless fight against the nature of ageing.  They reminisce about how everyone pooed in the 90s and if it's now okay to handle not-so-urgent messages while handling your urgent business. Matty confesses the troubling realities of her former grubbiness and they both decide to resolve the last bastions of chaos at home with a little cathartic decluttering (preferably before something dies or sh*ts in there first).  If you enjoy this episode of Untidy, please support the show by subscribing in your podcast app and tapping the ‘+ follow' button. In this episode of Untidy, Matty and Hannah talk to the multi-award-winning singer, songwriter and musician, Mel Parsons. Mel has released six studio albums and is a full-time, self-employed, touring artist with her own production company. She is also a mother and stepmother to four young children alongside her partner, Josh. Mel discusses the tenacity it has taken to pursue her musical career, choosing to have a relationship with uncertainty rather than the safety net of a ‘Plan B', and how she honours both her passion for a creative career and being an engaged parent. She talks candidly about what she's had to confront and accept in herself along the way, how she can't handle 17 conversations at once, what self-care looks like, and why a balanced perspective on fish fingers and cheese on toast is essential for living within reason. Mel's soulful, indie-folk music reflects a life lived with bold authentic expression in every facet. She's witty, frank, and honest. This is a conversation that will validate and inspire! Seeking joy, sauna thoughts, and sad club sandwiches

In this episode of Untidy, Matty and Hannah confirm they wouldn't succeed in pursuing a career in espionage ... However, in the successful pursuit of joyfulness, Hannah managed to track down a head cold for balance. Matty prescribes a good read for those experiencing, perhaps, too much joy in their lives (‘Between a Wolf and a Dog' by Georgia Blain) and Hannah recommends ‘Greenlights' by Matthew McConaughey as an audiobook listen for a long drive. They ask two poignant questions about saunas, answer neither, but, offer convincing assumptions and everyone needs to follow Matty on Pinterest before she makes her embarrassing boards private. As the sacrificial lamb for social experiments, Hannah debriefs her latest ‘doin' it for the pod' mission and reports back on the ‘Lock and Key' party she attended. A singles night nothing short of shambolic served with a side of sad club sandwiches. In this episode of Untidy, Hannah and Matilda are joined by Michael (Wippa) Wipfli, the much-loved Australian radio presenter and co-host of the Fitzy, Wippa & Kate Ritchie breakfast show on Nova 96.9 Sydney. Wippa is the co-founder of 36 Months, a petition to raise the threshold for kids to legally join social media from 13 to 16 years of age in Australia.  Statistics show we are raising ‘the anxious generation' with young people facing a ‘mental health epidemic' attributed to the rise in social media usage. Wippa is determined to petition the Australian government to change policy and protect children from social media harm. He maintains that kids need that 36 months between 13 and 16 for crucial brain development to develop a greater sense of self and secure identity before being exposed to the ‘likes', rankings, and addictive features social media use presents.  Wippa discussed conversations with Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and the leader of the opposition, Peter Dutton, who are verbally supportive of policy change. Matilda and Hannah asked what they could do to support the movement in New Zealand, and the great race to parliament began with a direct message to Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, to make policy changes to give the young people of Aotearoa better mental health outcomes.  Find Wippa's 36 Months petition here and follow on Instagram  @36months.com.au and @wippa1. Our Matariki and Māori language with Stacey Morrison

In this episode of Untidy, Hannah and Matty have a kōrero with Stacey Morrison (Te Arawa, Ngāi Tahu). A mainstay of broadcasting in Aotearoa New Zealand for three decades, Stacey is also the co-author and author of books to help people on their journey with te reo Māori. As a champion of Māori language, culture and wisdom unique to Aotearoa, Stacey extends the invitation it offers us all to feel stronger about our connection to whenua, to this land. Stacey did not grow up speaking te reo and had to confront trauma associated with being separated from her native language on her journey to becoming a fluent speaker, translator and teacher. She and her husband, Scotty, have now given the gift of this birthright back to their children by committing to te reo Māori as the first language spoken in their home. Stacey, Matty and Hannah talk about the unifying opportunities Māori language and wisdom offers the collective culture of Aotearoa and discuss resistance, awkwardness, uncertainty and also enthusiasm associated with this cultural shift through the generations of New Zealanders. Stacey gives education on Matariki – Māori New Year, and shares how all people can find connection, meaning and celebration by embracing this time.
