In this message, we explore the universal struggle with emotions like anger, fear, and anxiety through the lens of the movie Inside Out 2. While the movie is great at showing what's broken, it offers a poor guide for our lives, suggesting we can fix ourselves by trying to be a "good person". The truth is, we are incapable of solving what is truly broken inside of us. Jesus did not come to make bad people good; He came to bring dead people to life. The good news of the gospel is that salvation is not by our works, but is a gift from God, by grace through faith in Jesus. If you're tired of trying to fix yourself and are ready to admit you need a Savior, this message is for you. Do you ever feel stuck, like you're going through the motions alone? In this sermon, Pastor Steve shares a powerful truth: "Without authentic community, we're just in crowded isolation, because getting unstuck is not about what you know, it's about who you're with." This message challenges the lie of a "Me and Jesus" faith, revealing how the enemy uses isolation to keep us stuck and defeated. Drawing on the Book of Acts, Steve shows that the Christian faith is, and always has been, a community faith. When we connect with Jesus and His people, we find the freedom and healing we've been looking for. If you're ready to break free from crowded isolation and experience the power of authentic community, this message is for you. At 12Stone Church, we believe you can Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference. Do you ever feel like you're just going through the motions? You know the basics, but you're missing the power that makes life truly work. In this message from our ACTS series, Pastor Jason uses the real-world events of Acts 19 to explain what happens when you decide to fully commit to your faith. He'll show you three practical results: People who are searching get what they need; those who are faking it get exposed; and when enough people change, it transforms the entire community. Stop settling for the minimum and start seeking something real—your change is waiting.
Do you ever wonder, "Can people really change?" Can a liar become a truth-teller? Can the addicted find freedom? In this powerful sermon, Pastor Trey confronts this universal question with a resounding YES, revealing how the Holy Spirit holds the incredible power to transform anyone into a new person. Drawing from the radical transformation of Saul into Paul in the Book of Acts, Trey demonstrates that "there is no past too bad to keep us from a new life". You'll discover that being "filled with the Holy Spirit" means actively inviting Him to control your life, leading to a profound newness. If you're tired of feeling spiritually cold, stuck in old patterns, or simply know God has more for you, this sermon invites you to say "yes" to the Holy Spirit's transforming power today. Do you ever feel a constant longing, like nothing in life truly satisfies? You're not alone. In this sermon, Pastor Jason dives into the "spiritual hunger" we all experience, explaining why we often find ourselves "too easily satisfied" and "too quickly distracted" by lesser things. Using a vivid buffet metaphor, you'll discover how we fill our lives with "spiritual junk food," leaving no room for the deeper, truly satisfying "more" that God offers. Drawing from the Book of Acts, Jason reminds us that Jesus promised an "Advocate," the Holy Spirit, as "THE MORE" that can fill that void and provide true peace and presence.
Do you ever feel like you're missing out on the greatest joy and fulfillment life has to offer? We believe God created you on purpose and for a purpose that is bigger than yourself. But discovering that purpose is only the beginning; the culmination is using what He's given you to make a lasting difference. In the conclusion of our series, "Hymns," Pastor Jason Berry unpacks the Parable of the Talents, revealing that we are accountable for the time, talents, and treasure God has entrusted to us. It's not about how much we are given, but what we do with it. Are you burying your gifts, or are you investing them in what matters for eternity?
Do you ever feel a nagging sense of emptiness or wonder, "How do I find my purpose?" In a world struggling with a "Pandemic of Purposelessness," this message is designed for anyone feeling aimless, stuck, or simply longing for more meaning in life. Pastor Steve unpacks God's vision for living out a greater purpose than you might imagine. Discover how your unique purpose is found on the other side of surrender, as God, like a skilled potter, reshapes your life (Jeremiah 18). You'll learn: • The Power of Surrender: Why surrendering your plans to God is the first step to unlocking His purpose for you, echoing the profound truth in the hymn "I Surrender All." • Purpose in Your Everyday Life: How God's purpose isn't just for a select few, but transforms your role as a teacher, parent, student, or in any job, turning "mundane moments" into Kingdom opportunities. • The Benefits of a God-Sized Purpose: How a bigger purpose defines your identity, protects you from temptation, guides your decisions, and brings true joy and fulfillment, even amidst problems. If you're ready to stop feeling lazy, passive, or simply living for a lesser purpose, join us to discover the incredible "why" behind your existence and embrace the meaningful life God created you for. Do you ever feel like your past is holding you back? Maybe you're longing for a "new thing" in your life, but old habits, hurts, or hidden struggles keep you stuck. In this powerful message, Pastor Steve dives into how you can truly find freedom from your past and step into the new life God has for you. Drawing parallels from the biblical story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18), this sermon will challenge you to confront the "old things"—the idols, the secret struggles, the unspoken sins—that prevent you from experiencing God's full freedom. You'll hear inspiring stories of students finding breakthrough and discover practical steps to confess and let go of what's holding you captive. This message is for anyone who longs to: • Break free from patterns that keep you stuck. • Confess and find healing from hidden struggles. • Experience genuine freedom and a fresh start with God. • Believe for the "new thing" God wants to do in your life. If you're ready to deal with the old so you can embrace the new, this message is for you. At 12Stone Church, learn how to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference. Have you ever wondered if Jesus could truly be your friend? In a world that often feels rushed and superficial, Pastor JB kicks off our "Hymns" series by diving into the profound truth of "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." This message will invite you into an intimate, personal relationship with God that goes far beyond just intellectual understanding. Drawing from Scripture and personal experience, JB unpacks how to cultivate this friendship through three key elements: • Pace: Discover the importance of unhurried, consistent time with God, learning to "abide" in His presence. • Price: Understand that true friendship with Jesus involves loyalty and obedience, a willingness to align your life with His commands out of love. • Payoff: Experience the incredible joy, peace, wisdom, and direction that comes from walking in deep intimacy with your Savior. If you're ready to move from just knowing about Jesus to experiencing Him as your closest friend, this message is for you.
Have you ever wondered, "What's my role in the church?" In a world that often feels divided, Pastor Dave shares a powerful message about the unique gift each generation brings and how we all fit together. From his own experience as a new dad to the timeless wisdom of biblical figures like Paul and Timothy, this sermon explores what it means to be truly available to God and to each other. You'll discover that the Church is at its best when every generation works together—sharing wisdom, speaking life, and leading with love. This message will challenge you to move beyond the sidelines and use your voice to impact the people around you, no matter your age or where you are in your journey.
Have you ever felt like your faith was flat, boring, or just not working? Maybe you've heard other people share their incredible stories about Jesus and wondered, "When do I get my own story?" This Sunday, Pastor Steve dives into a personal moment with one of Jesus's disciples to answer the question: What happens when you move from a story about the kingdom to your story in the kingdom? In this message, you'll discover that when you move from a parable to something personal, it's scary, unexpected, and unbelievably rewarding. Steve also shares a powerful truth: following Jesus doesn't protect you from storms; it might even get you in a storm. But the storm is not evidence that God has left you; it can actually be the very thing that leads you into the presence of God Himself. If you're ready to step out of the boat and experience the full, thrilling life of following Jesus, this message is for you.
This Father's Day, we explored what it really means to be a man of God — not perfect, but present. Every man is like Superman: carrying a cape to serve others, living like Clark Kent in the daily grind, and battling his own kryptonite. In this message, we're reminded that we live in a spiritual world with a spiritual battle — and God has already given us the strength we need through His Spirit. Whether you're a dad, mentor, or leader, this message will challenge and encourage you to lead with humility, fight for what matters, and keep showing up — even when it's hard. Because God doesn't just use perfect people. He uses surrendered ones.
What if the reason you're stuck isn't your situation… but your pride? In this message, we kick off our Life-Changing Pictures & Parables series by unpacking one of the biggest barriers to God's blessing: selfish pride. Through a powerful teaching from Luke 14 and a look at how pride deceives and destroys, we discover the surprising truth — that humility is the way forward. Whether you're in a season of success or struggle, this message will help you see how taking a step back and choosing a lesser seat could actually move your life forward.
We live in a world that never stops moving — but what if real strength is found in slowing down? In this message, we explore God's design for both work and rest. You'll discover why rest isn't just a break from life, but a vital part of how we thrive in it. Jesus invites us to sit with Him, not just serve Him — and that changes everything.
Feeling overworked or constantly tired? You're not alone — and you're not without help. In this message, we explore what the Bible says about work and rest — and how the rhythm between the two is key to a meaningful, healthy life. Whether you're burning out in your job, stuck in striving, or just need permission to pause, this teaching offers practical guidance and a spiritual reset. With sponge-in-hand visuals and biblical truth, you'll learn how to work with purpose and rest with trust. Your job matters to God. So does your rest. Let's get back to the design He had in mind.
Graduation is not the finish line — it's the starting line. In this powerful message for Graduation Sunday, Pastor Jason and four graduating seniors reflect on what it means to follow Jesus into the next chapter of life. From high school to college, from student to servant leader, the journey ahead is filled with change — and one thing we all need is wisdom. Rooted in the book of Proverbs and the story of Solomon passing wisdom to his son, this message unpacks how to navigate transitions with God's truth, not just good advice. Featuring real student voices, spiritual takeaways, and a church-wide invitation to invest in the next generation, this is more than a graduation moment — it's a call to live unshakeable with purpose, legacy, and faith.
Easter isn't just a celebration of a moment in history—it's an invitation to life change. This Easter message at 12Stone walks through the powerful truth that no matter how lost, broken, or stuck we feel, we are not a lost cause. Through the story of Jesus on the cross—flanked by two criminals—we're reminded that grace is never out of reach. One rejected Jesus, the other surrendered. Which one are you? You'll also hear a moving real-life story of Michael, whose journey through addiction and prison felt hopeless… until Jesus. Now, he knows the truth: he has a seat at God's table—and so do you.
Is there still hope when you've messed up? This week at 12Stone Church, we looked at one of the most infamous characters in the Easter story—Judas. His failure was devastating, but his story reminds us of a powerful truth: you can be near Jesus and still miss the life He offers. Through this teaching, we explore how our own mistakes, regrets, and shame can make us feel stuck or too far gone—but Jesus says otherwise. The same grace that was available then is still available now. Whether you're carrying guilt, wondering if you've gone too far, or just need a fresh start—this message is for you. You are not beyond God's love. If you've ever felt like you don't belong in church or that your past disqualifies you, let this be the week you hear the truth: Jesus came for you.
What does it mean to have unshakeable power when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or out of control? In Week 4 of the UNSHAKEABLE sermon series at 12Stone Church, we're talking about how the Holy Spirit gives us real, lasting strength. This message unpacks how God's power isn't just a comforting presence—it's a bold force that helps us stand firm in shaky seasons. If you're looking for a sermon about the Holy Spirit, boldness, or how to live with spiritual strength in tough times, this message is for you. Pastor Kevin Queen shares how to stop relying on your own strength and start walking in the supernatural power God offers. Whether you're feeling anxious, stuck, or spiritually drained, this teaching will encourage you to step forward with courage and confidence—not through hype, but through faith.
We all face moments of uncertainty, where fear tries to hold us back from stepping into what God has prepared for us. In Joshua 1, God calls Joshua to lead His people into the Promised Land, reminding him to be strong and courageous—not because of his own strength, but because of God's unchanging faithfulness. The same is true for us today. When we trust in God's vision and move forward in faith, we can overcome fear and walk confidently into His purpose for our lives. At 12Stone, we're here to help you grow in faith and take your next step. Visit our website at 12Stone.com to learn more or connect with us https://12stone.com/connect/
What if everything you've been chasing for happiness is actually leaving you empty? Our world tells us that happiness comes from success, relationships, money, or instant gratification. But no matter how much we achieve, buy, or experience, it never seems to be enough. In this message, we unpack the Lies We Believe about what makes us happy and the truth that actually leads to fulfillment. The Bible warns us about three major lies—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—all of which convince us that happiness is found in temporary things. But Jesus offers something greater. In John 6:35, He says, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” True happiness isn't found in stuff, status, or shortcuts—it's found in surrendering to the only One who can truly satisfy. Have you been chasing temporary happiness instead of lasting joy? Where are you believing the world's lies instead of trusting God's truth? This week, read Psalm 73 every day and ask God to reveal where you've been settling for less than His best. Let's stop searching for happiness in the wrong places and start finding fulfillment in Him.

This growth reflects a total rise of 55,050 people since the 2020 Census. Among the metro region's counties, only Fulton County exceeds Gwinnett in population, with about 1.12 million residents. Despite this milestone, Gwinnett ranked sixth in growth rate among the region's counties over the past year. Gwinnett County police said a Lilburn resident is believed to have killed a teen who was found dead at a home on Paden Mill Trail in unincorporated Lawrenceville on Wednesday. The teen was identified on Thursday as 16-year-old Jose Daniel Martinez, who was from Lawrenceville. Martinez's family had reported him missing on Wednesday and officers went to the last place he was known to have been at and discovered his body, which had a gunshot wound. Lilburn resident Dennis Calzadilla, was arrested late Wednesday night and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with Martinez's death. Calzadilla was identified as a suspect based on information investigators gathered while canvassing the area and developing leads. Jail records show Calzadilla was also charged with gang activity-related charges — including unlawfully committing an offense with the intent to obtain, earn or maintain membership, or to increase status or position in a street gang — on Thursday. Police have not officially said why they believe Martinez was killed, however. Gwinnett County leaders are in the midst of several studies to plan for the county's future, Commission Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson said during her annual State of the County Address on Thursday. Hendrickson highlighted a human services needs assessment, the county's first-ever Arts and Creative Economy Master Plan, a disparity study that will look at the county's procurement and contracting system, and plans to hire a sustainability officer. "The county has always been intentional about where we see ourselves in the future," Hendrickson said after the speech, which was delivered at 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville. "This board paid particular to some of the issues and challenges that we're seeing around the nation — you know sustainability, climate, affordable housing, public safety, workforce challenges, transportation — and making sure we're meeting the gaps in our community. It's been a long time since such an assessment was done. In fact, it's been more than 30 years since the last full-scale assessment was conducted. The last one was conducted in 1991, according to Hendrickson. The study is expected to be finished later this year, possibly in the summer. Hendrickson told the Daily Post that the services which the assessment is looking at are community services which are designed to address a variety of issues, ranging from food and nutrition to housing, homelessness, and poverty. Parkview's baseball team cruised past Ariton, Alabama for a 10-0 victory in five innings late Thursday night in the Perfect Game Showdown. Mason Davis struck out seven in a five-inning perfect game to earn the victory. The Panthers' top hitters were Colin Houck who went 3-for-3 with a home run, triple, double, four RBIs, and three runs, Landon Stripling who went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, Mason Watler who went 1-for-2 with a double and Ali Banks who was 1-for-3 with a triple. The games in this Perfect Game Showdown took place at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama. The Met, as it is affectionately called, is the former home of the Minor League Birmingham Barons and the current home of the SEC Baseball Tournament. During breaks in her professional basketball career, Anne Marie Armstrong became a licensed real estate agent. The former Wesleyan and Georgia Bulldogs standout, who has built a successful career in that field since 2016, currently works as director of land acquisition for an Atlanta area home builder. That's her day job. Her side hustle provides her basketball fix. Armstrong just completed her debut season as a college basketball analyst on SEC broadcasts, a welcome return to a sport she played at the pro level from 2013 through 2018, when two ACL injuries accelerated the end of her career. For 11 women's games and one men's game this season, she was back courtside at Stegeman Coliseum, where she played from 2009-13, as a color analyst for Georgia Bulldog games. Armstrong joins a growing list of former Gwinnett athletes who have transitioned into sports broadcasting. The ESPN and SEC Network lineup alone includes Carter, a Buford grad and North Gwinnett grad Tiffany Blackmon as female broadcasters, as well as Shiloh grad David Pollack and Parkview grad Matt Stinchcomb on football coverage. Parkview grad Jeff Francoeur and Duluth grad Nick Green are regulars on Atlanta Braves telecasts. Armstrong brought a considerable amount of knowledge into the job, too. In this episode of Next Step Leadership, Tracy and Chris talk with author and leader Dan Reiland. Dan offers deep insight from his role as an Executive Pastor of 12Stone Church, and his many years in various leadership positions. He tells his story and talks about how we can become leaders and continue serving as leaders. The confidence that is needed too often becomes a roller coaster. Rather than basing confidence on things that are internal, leaders frequently shift confidence based on circumstances. Dan believes just because a leader doesn't know what to do at a particular moment, that does not mean the leader doesn't know what he is doing. Leaders can guide others with confidence even during these difficult times.https://danreiland.comTwitter - @DanReilandhttps://danreiland.com/books/confident-leader/https://resources.12stone.church/resource/15117

In this episode I am joined by leadership legend and 12Stone Church chief of staff Dan Reiland. We talk about the importance of being developed as a leader, and the shift to leading through other people as you grow in influence.
After serving for a season on staff at 12Stone Church in Atlanta, Kevin Queen was tapped in 2018 to lead CrossPoint Church in Nashville, Tennessee — one of the largest churches in an area with a lot of large churches. But we're not interviewing Kevin because he leads a large church. We're talking with him because he passionately goes after a big God. Kevin has a great story to tell about studying revivals and learning how to go deep in prayer and letting God lead. He also has a lot to say about spiritual mentoring.
