Now, when we talk about someone's life, and if we say that they've hit rock bottom, it's kind of a sad thing. It usually means they're out of money and maybe they've lost their job and they don't know what to do next. They don't have anything to use to buy food and they don't know how to earn a living. Sometimes we'll say that they've hit rock bottom. Sometimes when we talk about someone whose life has gone kind of off the rails, we would say maybe they're doing drugs or something that's just ruining their life and at a certain point they might hit rock bottom. That would be the point in their life where they just aren't doing anything healthy anymore. They've hit rock bottom. This does have a bit of a positive meaning as well. You can talk about prices when they hit rock bottom, that's good for you at a store. Maybe you are, let me see, maybe you're buying something like a wheelbarrow for your garden and the wheelbarrow is made out of metal. You still might say, yep, this thing is solid as a rock. That means it's well built and it will last a very long time.So to review, when someone hits rock bottom it means they're at the worst part of their life, not a nice time for them. And when you say something is solid as a rock, it means that it's built well or that it's just, well here's an example, this tree right here is solid as a rock. It's a very solid tree, solid as a rock.But hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Abdula. What is the meaning of off-white? And my response, it means that something is white but has a tiny shade of another color in it.We often use the term off-white. Thanks for the comment by the way, Abdula, we often use the term off-white to talk about paint in a house. When Jen and I paint a room, sometimes we'll paint it off white and it'll have a little shade of blue in it, a little tint of blue, or we'll paint something off-white and it has a little bit of gray in it. So it's very difficult to have pure white in the flower world. Sorry, I've switched subjects here slightly. Jen and I grow a number of white flowers, but most of them are off-white. So when someone calls and says can I have a bunch of white flowers? We usually say we have some off-white, towards green. We have some off-white with a tinge of pink in it or a tinge or a shade of pink in it. We have off-white that has just a little bit of purple in it, so it's very difficult to find pure white in the natural world. Lielbritānija ir gatava atteikties no dažiem punktiem jau noslēgtajā Brexit  līgumā, kuriem pati vēl pirms gada piekritusi. Briselē saka, ka britu valdībai vairs nevarot uzticēties. Tas vēl vairāk mudina domāt, ka nekāda vienošanās starp Eiropas Savienību un Lielbritāniju par valstu tālākajām attiecībām šogad noslēgta netiks. Krievijas prezidents Vladimirs Putins apsolījis Baltkrievijai kredītu pusotru miljarda apmērā, lai palīdzētu pārvarēt briestošo ekonomisko katastrofu. Šobrīd gan nekas neliecina, ka tas palīdzēs Baltkrievijai apspiest protesta kustību. Tiesa, iegūt Krievijas labvēlība protestētājiem nav izdevies. Runājam arī par Apvienoto Arābu Emirātu un arī Bahreinas noslēgto vienošanos ar Izraēlu par diplomātisko attiecību atjaunošanu. Puses paudušas pārliecību, ka tas nesīs reģionā mieru. Jautājums, vai šādam solim varētu sekot arī citas arābu valstis? Notikumus pasaules politikā komentē politologs, vēstures doktors Ojārs Skudra, sazināmies ar Eiropas Politikas analīzes centra pētnieku Mārtiņu Hiršu. Protesti Baltkrievijā. 6. nedēļa Nu jau sesto nedēļu Baltkrievijas sabiedrība cenšas nevardarbīgā cīņā aizstāvēt savas tiesības uz politisku izvēli, panākot atkārtotu, godīgu vēlēšanu sarīkošanu, kas diezgan noteikti nozīmētu līdzšinējā prezidenta Aleksandra Lukašenko valdīšanas beigas. Un joprojām šī cīņa atrodas zināmā spēku līdzsvara situācijā, ciktāl režīma līderis Lukašenko vārdos un darbos apliecina apņēmību turēties pie varas līdz galam un visiem līdzekļiem, un savukārt nekas neliecina, ka protestu kustībai draudētu pagurums un vilšanās. Arī pagājušās svētdienas, 13. septembra, demonstrācijas Minskā un citur Baltkrievijā bija ierasti daudzskaitlīgas, galvaspilsētā, kā tiek lēsts, ielās izejot līdz 200 000 cilvēku. Arī spēka struktūras rīkojās savā ierastajā manierē, bloķējot nozīmīgākos objektus pilsētas centrā, cenšoties nepieļaut mazāku kolonu izkļūšanu no guļamrajoniem un uzbrūkot mazākām protestētāju grupām. Laists darbā jau ierastais arsenāls – gumijas lodes, apdullinošās granātas un steki. Pēdējo nedēļu aktualitāte ir tā dēvētie „klusie” jeb „slepenie” – krieviski “тихари” –, spēka struktūru pārstāvji privātā apģērbā ar aizklātām sejām, kuri sevišķi agresīvi uzbrūk mītiņotājiem, piedalās aizturēšanās, iejūk starp protestētājiem, rīkojot provokācijas un izplatot maldinošu informāciju. Pēc pagājušās svētdienas protestiem apmēram 500 cilvēki Minskā un vairāk nekā 550 citur Baltkrievijā aizturēti un atrodas īslaicīgā ieslodzījuma vietās. Tikām 14. septembrī Aleksandrs Lukašenko četras stundas pavadīja sarunās aci pret aci ar Krievijas prezidentu Vladimiru Putinu pēdējā rezidencē Sočos. Oficiālajos paziņojumos dominē teksti par ciešāku ekonomisko sadarbību un Krievijas līdera atbalstu Baltkrievijas kolēģa konstitucionālo reformu plāniem, tikmēr konkrētākais sarunu rezultāts ir pusotru miljardu dolāru liels Krievijas aizdevums Baltkrievijai. Mierlīgums ar bībelisku nosaukumu 15.septembrī Vašingtonā tika parakstītas divas vēsturiskas vienošanās – Apvienotie Arābu Emirāti un Bahreina parakstīja līgumus par diplomātisko attiecību normalizāciju ar Izraēlu. Līgums starp Izraēlu un Apvienotajiem Arābu Emirātiem oficiāli tiek saukts arī par Ābrama līgumu, atsaucoties uz Vecās Derības personāžu Ābramu – mitoloģisko ebreju un arābu kopīgo ciltstēvu. Līgumus parakstīja Izraēlas premjerministrs Benjamins Netanjahu, Apvienoto Arābu Emirātu ārlietu ministrs un kroņprincis šeihs Abdula bin Zeids Al Nahaijans, Bahreinas ārlietu ministrs Abdullatifs bin Rašids az Zajani, kā arī Savienoto Valstu prezidents Donalds Tramps vienošanās apliecinātāja statusā. Līdz ar to Emirāti kļuvuši par pirmo Persijas līča valsti, kas normalizējusi starpvalstu attiecības ar Izraēlu, kuru vairums arābu valstu joprojām uzskata par prettiesisku veidojumu arābiem vēsturiski piederīgā teritorijā. Līdz šim ar Izraēlu miera līgumus noslēgušas tikai Ēģipte un Jordānija, un abos šais gadījumos Savienotās Valstis piedalījās procesā kā vidutājs. Atšķirībā no Ēģiptes un Jordānijas, Apvienotie Arābu Emirāti nekad nav bijuši iesaistīti militārā konfrontācijā ar Izraēlu, līdz ar to līguma praktiskā puse nosaka diplomātisko attiecību un komunikāciju – aviosatiksmes, telefona sakaru u.tml. – normalizēšanu. Tas licis izskanēt viedokļiem, ka Tuvo Austrumu miera procesa kontekstā Ābrama līgumam ir drīzāk deklaratīva nozīme, un pirmām kārtām tas kalpo Donalda Trampa un Benjamina Netanjahu ārpolitiskā tēla spodrināšanai. Visasāk pret līgumu izteikusies šobrīd ietekmīgākā Izraēlas un Savienoto Valstu pretiniece reģionā Irāna, negatīvu nostāju paudušas arī Turcija, Maroka un dažas citas valstis, kamēr Saūda Arābijas un citu Persijas līča valstu oficiālā nostāja ir drīzāk vēsi neitrāla. Starptautiskās preses publikācijas uzsver arī Kataras īpašo pozīciju šī mierlīguma kontekstā. Proti, Katara pēdējos mēnešos daudz reālāk iesaistījusies miera procesā, lielā mērā nodrošinot šī mēneša sākumā panākto uguns pārtraukšanu starp Izraēlas bruņotajiem spēkiem un kustību Hamas Gazas sektorā, un tieši ar to izpelnījusies „izraidītā” lomu pārējo Persijas līča valstu vidū. Uz spēles britu uzticamība „Lielbritānija nelauž līgumus,” – šo kādreizējās britu premjerministres Mārgaretas Tečeres frāzi citēja Eiropas Komisijas prezidente Urzula fon der Leiena ikgadējā uzrunā „Par stāvokli savienībā”, ar kuru 17.septembrī uzstājās Eiroparlamentā. Tas ir nepārprotams mājiens britu pašreizējā premjerministra Borisa Džonsona virzienā, kura pēdējā laika mēģinājumi vienpusēji apiet Lielbritānijas izstāšanās līguma nosacījumus apdraud tā īstenošanu. Runa ir par Iekšējā tirgus likumu, par kuru pirmajā lasījumā nobalsojis Lielbritānijas Parlamenta vairākums. Kamēr Boriss Džonsons uzstāj, ka likuma mērķis ir novērst Eiropas Savienības „pārmērīgu un nesaprātīgu” izstāšanās vienošanās traktējumu, faktiski, kā uzsver daudzi kā Lielbritānijā, tā citur pasaulē, tas ir pretrunā ar šo starptautisko vienošanos. Tieslietu asociācija, kas apvieno apmēram 200 000 Anglijas un Velsas juristu, norādījusi, ka faktiski šis likums lauž iepriekš noslēgtu starptautisku vienošanos un būtu smags trieciens Lielbritānijas starptautiskajam prestižam. „Tas ir uzbrukums likuma varai,” paudis asociācijas prezidents Saimons Deiviss. Līdz ar to varētu tikt pārvilkta svītra ar milzu pūlēm panāktajam kompromisam, kas arī pēc Lielbritānijas izstāšanās no savienības saglabātu atvērtu robežu Īrijas salā, ļaujot uzturēt spēkā Lielās piektdienas vienošanos – Ziemeļīrijas miera procesa stūrakmeni. The hype around Kubernetes has created many repercussions in the IT industry — while not all of the effects have been net positive for many organizations and DevOps teams. Infrastructure management is a prime example. Missing too often are security management tools for Kubernetes deployments and infrastructure management. Ultimately, these tools should have the capacity to replace security and IT skills gaps and talent shortages by automating vulnerability detections and fixes, for example. “Kubernetes is something powerful and impactful, but has too many components and moving pieces,” Moe Abdula, vice president of engineering, SaltStack, said. “How do you ensure that you can build an architecture and a system around something like a Kubernetes that is easy to maintain, easy to support, easy to extend?” In this The New Stack Makers podcast, we speak with Abdula and Gareth Greenaway, vice president of engineering, SaltStack, about how and why the infrastructure- and security-management aspects of Kubernetes, as well as infrastructure, have been neglected, what the risks are and what can be done to fix it.

S belasými túžil získať v tejto sezóne majstrovský titul. Jedenásteho marca dostali jeho plány nenapraviteľné trhliny. Tipsportligové kluby sa vo Zvolene uzniesli na ukončení ročníka 2019/20 z dôvodu nepredvídateľného šírenia nového koronavírusu, ktorý vo svete vyvolal stav pandémie. Okrem Slovenska „zabalili“ sezónu aj v Nórsku, Poľsku, Nemecku, Rakúsku či po novom vo Švajčiarsku. Hoci 24-ročný Jindřich Abdul rozhodnutie z racionálneho hľadiska chápe, emocionálne sa s ním nedokáže vyrovnať. Keď sa v stredu dozvedel o predčasnom konci ročníka, urobil nasledovné: „Sadol som si na gauč a premýšľal, čo bude. Sezóna sa skončila zo dňa na deň. Neviem, čo robiť. Voľného času bude veľa, sám neviem, čo sa bude diať,“ vraví Abdul v našom podcaste. Hoci so Slovanom titul nezískal, sezónu zakončil ako najproduktívnejší hráč so ziskom 62 bodov za 23 gólov a 39 asistencií.
