This week I am talking to Stephanie Arnold about her book '37 Seconds: Dying Revealed Heaven's Help'.Like Proof of Heaven and To Heaven and Back, a medical drama with heavenly implications in which a woman receives premonitions of her death that come true, and her discovery of the heavenly help available to all of us.When she was pregnant with her second child, Stephanie Arnold had a sudden and overwhelming premonition that she would die during the delivery. Though she tried to tell the medical team and her family what was going to happen, neither the doctors nor her loved ones gave her warnings credence. Finding no physical indications that anything was wrong, they attributed her foreboding to hormones and anxiety. One member of the medical team did take her concerns seriously enough, and made the fateful decision to order extra units of blood “just in case.” Then, during the delivery, Stephanie suffered a rare Amniotic Fluid Embolism. She went into cardiac arrest and flat-lined for 37 seconds. She died. Using the supplementary blood, the medical team revived her, and she remained unconscious for more than six days. After months of recovery, Stephanie began to remember details of her experience, details she knew because she had witnessed the entire dramatic event, including her death, from outside her body—beside other spirits that were with her. In this remarkable true story, Stephanie recounts her harrowing journey and shares her surprising spiritual discoveries: we are not alone and have more loving help than we can imagine surrounding us.BioStephanie is an award-winning, international best-selling author, inspirational speaker and thought leader on a mission to help others realize that connecting with our sixth sense can not only enhance our lives, but can very well save them.Stephanie's background and experiences allow her to connect with diverse audiences, whether through her book, speaking engagements, or media appearances. Prior to sharing her own story in her best-selling book, 37 Seconds, Stephanie enjoyed a decades-long career helping others share their stories as an Emmy-Nominated TV Producer. In her personal life, Stephanie is a wife and mother with a deep appreciation of her Latina-Jewish heritage.    With her story inspiring millions of people around the globe, Stephanie now dedicates her time to speaking and advocacy work, spreading awareness about positive doctor-patient communication, trauma recovery, and discovering meaning and purpose in our personal and professional lives.Amazon link https://tinyurl.com/22bux3r3https://stephaniearnold.net/https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/our-paranormal-afterlife-finding-proof-of-life-after-death--5220623/support.

Being a same sex couple from a small rural town and going through the IVF process was eventful, but compared to many all in all a smooth-sailing affair... Until it came to giving birth.  Laura developed an Amniotic Fluid Embolism, a condition that the small rural hospital she gave birth in was ill-equipped to deal with.  MICA Flight paramedics were flown in and themselves battled to keep her alive, she suffered 2 cardiac arrests and would have had a surgeon perform a hysterectomy had there been one the hospital which fortunately (in this case) there was not. Life is a gift from God.  Most of us will experience or have already experienced, the death of someone very close to us.  It is in those moments that we are faced with the reality of our own mortality. Unless Jesus returns in our lifetime, we too will leave this world.  The decisions we've made in this life will determine our eternity—actually, it comes down to just one decision.  Am I living for myself, or am I living for Jesus?Matt Accurso experienced what no husband or father wants to experience.  Matt lost his wife, Lauren, during the birth of his first son, baby Matthew.  Then, just 17 days later, he would also lose his son.In those moments, Matt's foundation was shaken to the core.  Up to that time, Matt had trusted in God.  He trusted that God cared for him and his family. He trusted that God held them in His hand, and he trusted that God's ways were higher than his own ways.  Still, he was at a crossroads.  Would he continue to trust God and believe that He still loved him, or would he turn away?Today, I'm joined by Matt Accurso and his pastor, Matt McCloghry.  Even through the deep loss in Matt's story, you will find that this is still very much a Conversation of Hope.Support the show

Kayleigh went in for what she anticipated to be a routine induction to meet her son, only to suffer an incredibly rare complication known as an Amniotic Fluid Embolism right as she was beginning to push him out. Amniotic Fluid Embolism happens in approximately 1 in 100,000 births. The infant survival rate is only about 70%, and the maternal survival rate is somewhere between 30-50%. Yeah, basically everyone's worst nightmare! Episode 140 Healing Body and Mind: Interview Amanda Grow – Part 2 Welcome to the rest of Amanda Grow’s story. Did you know that the United States has the highest maternal mortality rate in the developed world? Because severe childbirth complications have become very rare, it is easy to forget that childbirth can be life threatening. Amanda Grow, a wife and mother of 4 children – 1 daughter and 3 sons, experienced an extremely rare complication of childbirth known as Amniotic Fluid Embolism which has a mortality rate of 80%. Last week you heard about her rapid blood transfusion that nearly drained the hospitals blood supply and left her in a medically induced coma for a week. This week we’ll get more of her story and talk about the importance of healing. Amanda’s story today isn’t just about a miracle and the healing of her body. It’s also about the toll such an event takes on us mentally as well as physically, and today we’re looking at the total process of finding meaning in brokenness and the process of rebuilding. Amanda is the owner of Strategic ACT Prep, a business she built over 10 years that helps high school students prepare for standardized tests. At the time of her medical crisis, she had 12 employees and three locations. The crisis necessitate major life changes as it took many months to regain mental and physical functioning. She and her business partner summoned the courage to shut down all 3 locations and let all the employees go. In the aftermath of the crisi, Amanda has also experienced mental health challenges characterisctic to Post Intensive Care Syndrome, situational drpession, and post traumatic stress. She has also struggled through a deep identity crisis as she no longer has the energy to the “do it all” mo, business owner and community member she once was Amanda has a bachelors degree from Brigham Young University and a Master’s degree from the Univesity of Utah. She and her husband now serve on the Patient and Family Advisory Council for Intermountain Medical Center. In this two-part series we are talking about recovering from accidents, loss, death. Sometimes we may gloss over the real process of climbing out of those dark holes that take us to the brink of strength. Mental and emotional recovery can be significantly harder than a physical recovery. It can be a long road to becoming whole and even then we will most certainly not be the same. Sometimes what must be grieved is the loss of who we were before. This is all a normal part of growth and life. It’s worth the two episodes to get the whole story and to learn about giving ourselves space to heal. Tune into the audio program for the rest of the interview with Amanda. To follow Amanda and her story on Facebook: Miracles for Amanda Grow Your challenge for this week – the same as last week (while we’re on the topic)  is to think about your own journey. Is there a space where you have expected yourself to bounce back more quickly, or expected someone else to bounce back and get back to normal without a sensitivity to the length and depth of the process. Consider what this looks like in your circles and see if there isn’t a place where you need to check in, allow, and nurture, yourself or another. Hi Everyone, After last weeks fascinating case discussion, Nolan and I continue with our discussion on amniotic fluid embolism. In this discussion we drill down into some of the current theories and understanding of the pathophysiology, prevalence, risk factors and AMOSS, the Australasian Maternities Outcomes Surveillance System, which has focussed on AFE in Australasia. The exact biological mechanism of AFE is still not fully understood as this is a rare unpredictable condition with no reproducible animal model which makes it exceedingly difficult to study. The knowledge we currently have has been gleaned from descriptions of case reports / case series and the pathophysiology that was observed. Current theories favour the condition to be an immune mediated reaction triggered by maternal exposure to fetal amniotic fluid and that the term "embolism" may be misleading. Listen to our podcast above for some more nuanced discussion on this topic. If anyone has any comments, questions or personal experiences they'd like to share please leave us a comment we'd love hear from you! Hi Everyone, This week we have a friend and colleague on the podcast, Assoc Prof Nolan McDonnell where he discusses a challenging case of amniotic fluid embolism which he was personally involved with earlier in his career. Join us and listen to the case where Nolan describes what it was like on a personal level - the uncertainty at first as to what is happening when there is a maternal collapse - and then the clinical utility of transoesophageal echocardiography and inhaled nitric oxide and how they helped in the management of this critically unwell woman. This is a unpredictable and challenging clinical condition which anyone involved in the care of obstetric woman in the peripartum period may be unfortunate enough to encounter. Stay tuned for next weeks podcast where Nolan and I do more of a "deep dive" into the epidemiology, pathophysiology and history of this fascinating condition.
