Medical supply chain disruptions saw many without health care at the worst points of the COVID-19 pandemic. How can we boost immunity now to be ready for the next outbreak? As an intensive-care doctor, Roger Seheult battled COVID-19 at the front lines of the pandemic, where he saw the power of sunlight and other natural means to restore patients' health. On “Vital Signs with Brendon Fallon,” he offers scientific proof that green spaces, tree phytoncides, sauna, and hydrotherapy fight infection. “Anything that can even artificially increase the body temperature is going to shut down viral replication, maybe not 100 percent, but certainly reduce it significantly,” says Seheult. How might children's ability to mount high fevers have protected them against the coronavirus? How can raising the body's temperature boost the immune system and fight off illness? “When I start feeling like I'm coming down with something; if I start to feel a little itchiness in the back of my throat, if I start to feel some chills ... the first place I go is to a sauna.” Seheult is currently an active critical care physician, pulmonologist, and sleep physician in his practice in California. He is co-founder of MedCram, which has garnered more than 1.5 million YouTube followers through demystifying medical concepts. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

“Melatonin is the most powerful antioxidant that we know of in the human body—the king of antioxidants,” says today's guest Dr. Roger Seheult, whose Youtube channel MedCram, helps make complicated medical topics easier to understand. On this episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, he breaks down the process by which melatonin mitigates oxidative stress at the mitochondrial level, thus preventing major diseases in the body.    The best way to get melatonin? From infrared light. But it's more complex than that. Dr. Seheult explains the two very different functions melatonin takes on during the day versus at night, where the body's greatest concentration of mitochondria lay, and why Vitamin D is just the beginning of what the sun has to offer our bodies.   This last point was raised throughout the COVID-19 pandemic—as well as the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918—where light therapies were used to treat patients. Dr. Seheult discusses the pioneering work of John Harvey Kellogg, a study performed in Brazil in which COVID patients were treated with an LED jacket, and the impact of light therapy on COVID patients who were on the brink of being intubated for ventilation.    Dr. Seheult shares his eight pillars of health—which form the acronym NEW START---and how a green environment enhances the absorption of near-infrared light.   Quotes “The sun, and sunlight, gives us much more benefit than just Vitamin D.” (10:00 | Dr. Roger Seheult)  “The body's designed to maximize that light's effect to get to the area where it's needed the most, which is the mitochondria.” (29:33 | Dr. Roger Seheult) “How do you prevent oxidative stress at night? By limiting light exposure to the eyes at night. How do you maximize melatonin-mediated protection of the mitochondria during the day? Through the production of melatonin on site in the mitochondria through the pathway of infrared light exposure.” (45:42 | Dr. Roger Seheult)    Links   Bon Charge Discount Code: at checkout enter the code: QBC to receive 15% off https://us.boncharge.com/collections/blue-light-blocking-glasses **If you're in the US and have a Health Savings Account (HSA or FSA) BonCharge products are an eligible expense**   Connect with Dr. Roger Seheult: Website: medcram.com Socials: https://twitter.com/MedCramVideos https://www.instagram.com/medcram/?hl=en https://www.facebook.com/MedCram/   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Activate Your Cellular ‘Virus Shield' Through Hydrotherapy–Heat Treatment: Dr Roger Seheult Discusses Interferons

Over 100 years ago, an Austrian psychiatrist cured patients of neurosyphilis by infecting them with malaria. The malaria caused a fever that triggered the patients' immune responses against their neurosyphilis. Patients don't necessarily need to suffer fever, though, to stimulate their immune response. The elevation of their body temperature alone can achieve this effect. Which key antiviral protein is mobilized when body temperature is raised? How can this be safely done to combat infections like COVID-19? On Vital Signs with Brendon Fallon, Dr. Roger Seheult highlights past and present methods used to escalate "virus-blocker" interferon proteins in the body. Dr. Seheult worked as a critical care physician in an intensive care setting during the pandemic. He oversaw the use of hydrotherapy to stimulate patients' interferon response against Coronavirus infection. Interferon is “effective against multiple variants, in fact, all the variants of COVID-19 … It's a very broad tool that our body has … to battle foreign invaders, especially viruses,” says Dr. Seheult. Although lacking modern medical technology, American sanitariums still effectively treated patients during the 1918–1920 flu pandemic. What do their methods tell us about how to counter viral infection today? Dr. Seheult is quadruple board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine. He is an associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of California. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

COPD (Lung Disease) the No. 3 Cause of Death Worldwide: How to Keep Lungs Healthy & Avoid COPD Risks

COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) impacts the breathing of nearly 16 million Americans, according to the NIH. And many more have the disease without even knowing it. “As those elastic fibers [in the lungs] tend to be destroyed over time, you lose that ability to have that air come out,” says pulmonologist Dr. Roger Seheult, outlining how COPD restricts breathing. Pulmonologists treat diseases of the respiratory system, including the lungs and the airways. “Anything that you breathe in that tends to damage those elastic fibers is going to cause your lungs not to deflate, not to come back to a regular size,” he adds, listing pollutants such as cigarette smoke that can cause the disease. How is COPD detected? Under what conditions can cooking lead to COPD? What effects can vaping and smoking marijuana have on the lungs and breathing? Dr. Seheult returns to Vital Signs with Brendon Fallon to explain why COPD is the world's third leading cause of death, and to highlight the respiratory dangers now facing young people in particular. “I was actually seeing … teenage kids from local high schools ending up in my intensive care unit on ventilators because they were vaping these oils that were never really designed to be vaped.” Dr. Seheult is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California. Alongside pulmonology, he is also board certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

Work from the Huberman Laboratory at Stanford University School of Medicine has been published in top journals including Nature, Science, and Cell and has been featured in TIME, BBC, Scientific American, Discover, and other top media outlets.Dr. Roger Seheult is currently an associate clinical professor at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine, and an assistant clinical professor at the School of Medicine and Allied Health at Loma Linda University.
