FTW with Imad Khan: An Esports And Competitive Gaming Podcast
In a conclusion to the Apple v. Epic Games lawsuit initially filed over a year ago, a California court ruled that Apple must permanently allow developers to include third-party in-app purchase methods, such as links to their own websites, on iOS apps. While the court didn't rule that Apple broke federal monopoly or antitrust law, it did rule that it practiced "anti-competitive behavior" under California law. Epic Games has also since filed an appeal to a higher court, meaning that this legal battle might not be over just yet. This week, Imad is joined by Adi Robertson, senior reporter at The Verge, to break down what exactly the ruling does and doesn't mean for both parties, and who (if anyone) "won" in what they initially set out to do.

Technology commentator Paul Matthews joins Kathryn to look at the increase in significant hacking attacks and how they happen with the tale of what happened to the Reserve Bank in January. With the number of payments from mobile phones exploding, are banks and tech giants extracting more than their fair share? Speaking of Apple, a landmark court case wrapped up this week between Apple and Epic, the creator of the massively popular Fortnite game. They're complaining about Apple's App Store fees and control - and the fact they prevent companies collecting payments elsewhere. What'll it mean if they win?
Charlotte Henry joins host Kelly Guimont to bring us up to speed on the Apple v Epic case, and look ahead to what it could mean for the App Store.

Here's what you need to know:The cryptocurrency selloff that was in full-swing on Friday continued over the weekend. Though bitcoin and ether managed to recoup some of their losses since they set new local minima, the value of popular cryptos is vastly depressed compared to recent highs.Looking ahead, it's the final day of arguments at the Epic Games vs. Apple trial. And we're seeing a smaller company try to crack some of the hold that a major tech incumbent enjoys over a huge piece of the digital economy.
