Many black people are more concerned about the black thing to do, rather than the right thing to do. In this episode, I discuss how groupthink stifles growth and limits people’s ability to think authentically. I’ve spoken with hundreds of black people, and they all say the same thing: groupthink and gatekeeping from the “black … S2 E5: Being Black III – The Community & Groupthink Read More »

"Only K can save the world" - from Men in Black III. This is one of K's favorite quotes, but what are her favorite topics in privacy? After many weeks discussing a huge variety of topics with our guests, it is time to go back to basics: a privacy conversation about our favorite topics while sitting on a sunny back porch, drink in hand. This week, it’s K’s turn to discuss her favorite privacy topic. She can only pick one - what will she go for? Individual rights? Transparency? International Transfers? Or will K reach back to her earlier career in healthcare? As you can imagine, when asked for one favorite topic, she provided two. We don't want to spoil the surprise, but we will provide some hints - one topic she speaks on fairly often and has written articles and guides on the topic. The other is something she teaches about in the course at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at ASU on Privacy, Big Data, and Emerging Technologies and is not an easy topic to address with law students and undergrads. Join us as K and Paul discuss her two favorite topics in depth, both of which are global privacy concerns. As always, key resources are provided below, but spoiler alert - if you review them, you will know her two topics!Resources:Your Vendor, Your Risk by Maggie Gloeckle and K Royal2020 Cost of Insider Threats by the Ponemon Institite2020 Global Privacy Survey: Emerging Trends, Benchmarking Research and Best PracticesCyber Civil Rights Initiative state lawsThere are revenge porn laws on the books in 46 states, but victims say not enough is being done to protect them online by Insider FBI arrests Queen Creek man accused of cyberstalking ex, posting revenge porn by 12NewsMaastricht University Law Blogs - Paparazzo photos: copyright protected works or an intrusion into the celebrity’s private life?Nudes - Norwegian TV Series (IMDb)Twitter: @EuroPaulB@heartofprivacy
Kate Boyle Before Banjo Robinson, Kate had an impressive career in LA, running writers' rooms for influential screenwriter Etan Cohen, working as a creative executive on Ghostbusters III and Men in Black III for Sony, Museum of Supernatural History for Setven Spielberg at DreamWorks, Candyland for Disney and Daddy's Home for Paramount. The idea for Banjo Robinson came about when Kate's father used to hide mail throughout the house for her to find when she was a child and when she was writing to friends' children back home in England. Thus, Banjo Robinson the company was born. For a generation of tech consumers, proper, paper post was a fresh way to spread magic of storytelling, and so Banjo Robinson - adventurer, penpal and magical cat was born. We learn through every day life and experiences that are not “school-like” in any way, and things do not need to “academically” educational to be worthy of our time and effort. We can all be creative in the ways we learn different things, whether we are young or old! Get your kids excited about discovering something new by disguising the learning activities as fun time. There are many other ways to learn, though, and as parents we can understand our children and see what styles they enjoy and respond to best. The most important thing is that we are encouraging our children to explore the world around them. Foster kindness and empathy It is critical to start and teach kids at a young age, when they can most easily absorb fundamental lessons. Usually, children like to learn from the people around him. They mimic the behavior of others and implement that in their own behavior. They are born imitators. So, we should present an imitable character before them which will help them grow as a good human being. Children are the future habitants of this world. If they are kind and empathetic, the world will be in safe hands. Teach kids the importance of diversity Promote self-discovery by sharing personal journeys and helping kids understand that everyone has a story. Teach children that their lives are enriched when they encounter and befriend people from different racial, ethnic or socioeconomic backgrounds, or who face different learning or physical challenges. Remind kids that everyone is an individual and when kids are self-aware and self-accepting, they are less likely to be judgmental or prejudiced. Subscribe! From the Ozark hills to New York City, Joel Brady is a diverse and multifaceted actor. Whether he is a pompous book critic working for Vanity Fair in the 1920s in Z: The Beginning of Everything, a prohibition agent suspecting his boss in Boardwalk Empire, arguing with a small town judge for not paying child support in southern Indiana in The Judge or simply stuck in an elevator with Will Smith in 1969 in Men in Black III, Joel is always bringing more than what is written to his roles. Though theatrically trained, Joel has spent the past years honing his craft in television and film.
On the surface, our anoNYman caller shares an entertaining story about a Men in Black III premiere party, which culminated in her breaking into her own house. But upon further inspection, her story is really about courage and overcoming difficult life struggles.
Jessica refuses to put down her cross stitch while we record. Unprofessional. Adam is distracted trying to take group selfies I did not agree to. Josh explains that more cooks in the kitchen equals better soup. Blake is not sad that he did not see Men in Black III. The gang runs short on time and pads it out with a Naked Chicken Chalupa update. Just so much padding. Content note: Mentions of Bs, Ds, and/or Ts. Michael Stuhlbarg. The Wrestler, but not Mickey Rourke.

Legend, White Squall, A Good Year... ah, ja, Ridley Scott har virkelig sat sit mærke på filmhistorien. In this episode, we survive technical difficulties to bring back the intro and to introduce the world to the greatest thing ever committed to podcast form, our latest radio drama. We also discuss Men in Black III, Fido and douchebags.
They go back...in time! I couldn't think of a better opener so that's what you get I guess for this week. So I reverse things back to normal for this episode but I may or may not change it right back next week. So I start things off with the news, I'll admit it's slightly lengthy but I knew that it was going to be that way coming in. And then the Trailer Spot this week is That's My Boy, starring Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg. Basic premise is that Adam Sandler's character has sex with his teacher and raises his kid while still being a teenager. Fast forward 30 years and hilarity ensues. After that is the Box Office Report. As for reviews I score all three of the MIB movies but only give a full review of MIB3. Lastly don't miss out on my closing comment about Paramount's move for GI Joe 2. Enjoy the show! Opening and Closing Song- Back in Time by Pitbull
