In 1978, Joe Dante (Gremlins, Gremlins 2) brought us the first in a string of Piranha films. Starting as a fun horror/comedy riding on the back of the Jaws craze, the spirit was somehow lost as the series continued from Piranha 2: The Spawning (1982) to Piranha 3D (2010) to the last and likely final installment Piranha 3DD (2012). Swimming in a sea of wasted potential, Piranha 3DD exists as a boner-comedy conundrum, boasting a barely feature length - the majority of which is more boner than comedy - the film somehow pulls off a surprisingly hilarious and gory finish, worthy of any lowbrow schlock-lovers time!

Sure, we're a week after Memorial Day, but we can't leave you without our annual review of some fish movie (no more JAWS). We present you Piranha 3DD...not quite as good as Jaws.

His deep love for his homeland cause him to shift his focus from his acting career to help rebuild Haiti, ravaged by the 7.0 earthquake on January 12th, 2010. His most important role to date is playing the title character in "TOUSSAINT LOUVERTURE" and won BEST ACTOR at the Pan African Film Festival, the Trinidad and Tobago International Film Festival and at Vues d'Afrique International Film Festival in Canada. Jimmy received the Caribbean American Excellence In The Arts award in November 2013. He was also nominated BEST ACTOR at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2012. With an international appeal, Jimmy has been working in many parts of the world including France, England, Indonesia, Nigeria, Ghana, Mexico...making full use of his fluency in 5 languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian and Creole. Happy Friday eve everyone!  Today your hosts Mike Talent and Matt crack open a brew and discuss a new Tributary Cast on The Lost City of Z an Amazon Original film.  Special topics include the 2012 film Piranha 3DD, ayahuasca, and sleepy Mike needs to go to bed. The Lost City of Z is a great idea for a film, but a poor execution.  The story really drags on for a full 2 ½ hours.  The scriptwriters really crammed way too much into the film.  The interesting segments of exploring the Amazon were way too short and the political scenes were way too long.  The casting and acting was excellent.  There are some big name actors in this film and they all deliver great performances.  It’s really odd the film drags and feels rushed at the same time.  How is that possible?  Mysterious Mike was very disappointed with this film.  He wanted to see it originally in the theaters in 2017 but did not make it.  He gives the film 3 out of 5 Reels.  Matt thought it was just average.  He felt there was a real missed opportunity to tell an incredible story that fell flat thanks to the script.  He also awards The Lost City of Z 3 out of 5 Reels. Rob and Ceej are back and are beating the heat with a vengeance. Rob is enjoying his pain medication and gives Ceej the reigns of the show in the beginning. Of course it went straight into sandwich talk. Listen in horror as Ceej describes an encounter with a beast that craves mayonnaise while Rob is off in his own little world. They join back up to get to the meat of the episode by championing and then ripping into Prometheus (spoilers: 11:20 - 38:20). They discuss how the movie is just like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book but with a writer that is actively mad at you throughout. Rob then spares Ceej the horribleness of Piranha 3DD by discussing the only redeeming feature in his opinion. Seriously, stay away from it. It's bad.
