Listeners, the latest headlines about Sean Combs—also known as Puffy or P Diddy—are focused firmly on his ongoing federal trial in Manhattan, where he faces serious charges including sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy. On May 16, Cassie Ventura, Combs's former long-term girlfriend, completed her fourth and final day of often emotional testimony. She described in detail allegations of abuse and sexual exploitation, including an incident in 2018 after a dinner in Malibu where she claims Combs raped her. Ventura told the court that at the time, Combs was acting strangely and agreed when asked by Combs's lawyer if his behavior could have been related to his bipolar disorder. In court, Ventura said she would have returned the $20 million settlement from her 2023 civil lawsuit if she “never had to have ‘freak offs'”—referring to sessions where she says Combs coerced her into having sex with other men, often involving drugs, as part of what she described as a loss of agency and autonomy. Ventura broke down in tears, sharing that if she'd never gone through those experiences, her life would have been fundamentally different. As Cassie left the stand, the prosecution called Dawn Richard, another former associate and ex-bandmate, who told the court she had witnessed Combs attack Ventura, describing Combs as “screaming” and “belligerent.” The trial has also included testimony from federal agents who described evidence found at the time of Combs's September 2024 arrest, including drugs and other items in his hotel room. Combs has denied all wrongdoing, with his legal team arguing that all sexual encounters were consensual and part of a swinger lifestyle, and that the relationships in question, while sometimes involving domestic issues, did not amount to trafficking or abuse.Despite the trial's shadow, Combs's legacy as a music mogul and business tycoon remains significant. As of 2025, his net worth is estimated at over $1 billion, built from decades of music hits, smart investments, and ownership stakes in everything from fashion to tech startups and major beverage brands like Ciroc vodka. Yet the cloud of allegations and high-profile trial is now the dominant story, with the hip-hop world and public watching closely as the case continues to unfold in federal court.

I like to think we're living in a more consent-aware world than we used to be. We speak about the sexual ideal of enthusiastic consent required before engaging in sexual acts. And yet, recent research demonstrates that in the medical community, what happens with our bodies is often far outside that consent, with almost 90% of medical students being asked to perform pelvic examinations on patients under anesthesia. Our guest this week, A'magine Goddard, is a filmmaker whose new documentary “At Your Cervix” examines how this happens and the effects of these exams. And listeners, be aware that this episode contains frank discussions of these non-consensual examinations. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/alyssa-milano-sorry-not-sorry/message

Just this week Emanuel reported Civitai had introduced a "bounty" system, that financially rewards people for making AI-models of specific targets. We talk about both stories in the first section of the podcast. Then after the break of this episode of "The Emanuel Maiberg Show," Emanuel talks about his deep investigation into working conditions in Labcorp, one of the biggest lab companies in the country, and how Amazon-like metrics may put patients at risk. Uldouz started her acting career and quickly began to grow a following from her modeling and acting work. As she was growing in popularity, she learned that intimate, nonconsensual images and videos of her were leaked in the 2014 iCloud hack that affected hundreds of women, including many celebrities. After the leak, Uldouz battled to have the videos removed from mainstream porn websites, including Pornhub. In this episode, Uldouz discusses how being a victim of image-based sexual abuse (IBSA) has affected her life, from being bullied by her peers to brands deciding not to work with her. Taxpayers in tax disputes with the IRS can seek judicial review in any one of three courts, but they often choose the Tax Court. This makes sense because the Tax Court is favorable to taxpayers in many ways. For instance, the parties must work cooperatively to exchange evidence, narrow issues, and agree on facts, and pre-trial discovery demands are often minimal. Things have started changing, though, particularly when it comes to cases involving conservation easements. This article explains the IRS's main data-gathering tools during audits, pre-trial discovery actions, general limitations on depositions of potential witnesses, and three recent Tax Court Orders allowing the IRS to conduct non-consensual depositions of various persons affiliated with partnerships that donated easements.
