With Rep. Cecil Brockman's recent resignation amid questions of possible expulsion, attention has turned to what that process actually looks like in the NC House, and how rare it is for legislators to remove one of their own. In 2008, the NC House took an extraordinary and historic step — voting 109-5 to expel Rep. Thomas Wright of New Hanover County for ethical misconduct. It was the first time in more than a century that lawmakers had removed one of their own. In this episode, former Reps. Drīzumā klajā nāk grāmata, kas veltīta vienam no slavenākajiem rīdziniekiem vēsture - Mihailam Tālam - šaha ģēnijam un ekscentriskai personībai. Iepazīstam šahu caur Mihaila Tāla biogrāfiju. Sarunā ar grāmatas autoru - šahistu un vēsturnieku Andri Tihomirovu skaidrojam, kāpēc Tāls kļuva par tik nozīmīgu personu šahā un ne tikai. Andris Tihomirovs atklāj, ka pirms četriem pieciem gadiem kolēģi uzrunājuši viņu šaha turnīros un rosinājuši uzrakstīt grāmatu par Mihailu Tālu. Piekritis, jo cerējis, ka uzrakstīs divās nedēļās vai divos mēnešos, bet darbs paņēmis četrus gadus. „Viena no galvenajām problēmām, ar kuru saskāros – Tāls nebija rakstītājs, bet runātājs. Viņš pats gandrīz neko nerakstīja. Ja ir viņa teksti vai domas, to pierakstījis kāds cits. Nav dienasgrāmatu, vēstuļu. Tas rada vienu no problēmām ar avotiem, bet bija citi materiāli,” atzīst Andris Tihomirovs. Sazināmies arī ar mūsu kolēģi - žurnālistu Gunāru Jākobsonu -, kurš saticis Mihailu Tālu dzīvē un arī intervējis. „Viņš bija veikls runātājs,” piekrīt Gunārs Jākobsons. „Viņš bija arī pianists veikls, galda tenisa spēlētājs, neraugoties uz fiziskām nepilnībām. Ir arī vairākas reizes bijis radiofonā. Cik krāsains bija viņa spēles stils, tik krāsaina bija arī viņa runa. Liela personība Latvijas sportā un sabiedrībā, ne velti viņu dēvēja par „Rīgas burvi”, „Šaha Paganīni"."   Pirms tam iepazīstam, kā žurnālisti apgūst sporta komentētāja prasmes un sporta žargonu. Šahs un mats, rokāde - šie ir daži termini, kurus pazīstam no šaha pasaules, bet sportā ir lērums jēdzienu, kas apzīmē dažādus spēles vai sacensību momentus. Kā sporta komentētāji apgūst sporta žargonu, spēj zibenīgi komentēt tiešraidē notiekošo un iegaumēt daudzo sportistu vārdus un uzvārdus? Veselīgs temps, veikli izrunāti ārvalstu sportistu vārdi un komandu nosaukumi, dinamika - šie ir tipiski raksturlielumi sporta ziņu lasīšanas un sporta sacensību komentēšanas laikā. Bet, lai kļūtu par sporta žurnālistikas profesionāli, ir jāmēro visai garš ceļš, kur nebūt ne visu iespējams apgūt akadēmiskā ceļā augstskolā. Latvijas Radio sporta ziņu izlaidumos klausītāji regulāri satiekas ar sporta žurnālistiem Māri Bergu, Lotāru Zariņu un Mārtiņu Kļavenieku. Kamēr Mārtiņš veic darba pienākumus Pasaules hokeja čempionātā Zviedrijā, tikmēr saruna ar Māri un Lotāru. Savas sporta žurnālistikas prasmes viņi kaldinājuši, tulkojot un veidojot rakstus tīmekļa žurnālos, lasot citu cilvēku komentārus, ejot praksē radio, un abi ir vienisprātis, ka arī pašu cieša saistība ar sportu ir ļoti palīdzējusi. Lotāram tuvs allaž ir bijis hokejs un peldēšana, Mārim - hokejs un teniss, un tas tad arī ļāvis apgūt nepieciešamo sporta terminoloģiju. Bet ar sev tuvu grāmatu iepazīstina Latvijas Universitātes profesors, uztveres pētnieks Jurģis Šķilters. Iepazīstam kādu grāmatu, kas pievēršas mūsdienu vidējās paaudzes dzīves izaicinājumiem. 21. gadsimta demogrāfijā redzam vairāk pusmūža cilvēku nekā jebkad līdz šim. Tas rada veselu paaudzi cilvēku, kuriem par pienākumu uzlikts sniegt rūpes bērniem un vecākiem vienlaikus, būt aktīviem darba dzīvē ilgāk nekā jebkad iepriekš. Kādas sekas tas rada un ko par to saka cilvēkģeogrāfijas pētījumi, par to raidījumā Zināmais nezināmajā saruna ar socioloģi, migrācijas, mobilitātes un sociālās nevienlīdzības pētnieci, asociēto profesi Austrumsomijas universitātē un viesprofesori Rīgas Stradiņa universitātē Aiju Lulli.   Zinātnes ziņas Sirds slimību nāves gadījumi visā pasaulē saistīti ar ķīmiskām vielām, ko plaši izmanto plastmasā Ne reizi vien raidījumā esam runājuši par plastmasu, par mikroplastmasu un to, kā tā, iespējams, atstāj ietekmi uz cilvēka veselību. “Science Daily” raksta, ka sirds slimību nāves gadījumi visā pasaulē ir saistīti ar ftalātiem. Pētījumu vadījuši zinātnieki no Ņujorkas, ASV, un uzmanība īpaši pievērsta ftalāta veidam, kas padara pārtikas traukus, medicīnisko aprīkojumu un citu plastmasu mīkstāku, elastīgāku, un pētījumos pierādīts, ka ftalāta iedarbība izraisa pārmērīgu imūnreakciju (iekaisumu) sirds artērijās, kas laika gaitā ir saistīta ar paaugstinātu sirdslēkmes vai insulta risku. Pētījums liecina, ka mēs ne tikai dzirdam mūziku, bet gan “kļūstam par to” Kāds cits pētījums, piedaloties ASV un Kanādas zinātniekiem, liecina, ka mūsu smadzenes un ķermeņi ne tikai saprot mūziku, bet arī fiziski rezonē ar to. Šie atklājumi, kas balstīti neirozinātnes, mūzikas un psiholoģijas atklājumos, apstiprina neironu rezonanses teoriju (NRT). Saskaņā ar šo teoriju muzikālā pieredze rodas no smadzeņu dabiskajām svārstībām, kas sinhronizējas ar ritmu, melodiju un harmoniju. Šī rezonanse veido mūsu laika izjūtu, muzikālo baudu un instinktu kustēties līdzi ritmam. Tātad viss patiesi balstīts fizikā, fizioloģijā, ne tik daudz kādos mūsu paredzējumos, cerībās par to, kāda mūzika varētu būt. Kā veidot pilsētu, lai uzlabotu savu psihisko veselību saskaņā ar zinātni? Bet psihisko veselību iespējams uzlabot arī, pievēršot uzmanību pilsētplānošanai. Par to “Nacionālās ģeogrāfijas” tīmekļa vietnē ir vēstīts. Eksperti apgalvo, ka nelielas izmaiņas mūsu apkārtnē, piemēram, kur mēs sēžam, staigājam vai pulcējamies, var būtiski ietekmēt to, kā jūtamies. Aicina ziņot par gredzenotiem mājas strazdiem.
