In “Jesus Christ is Relief,” Sister Johnson testifies of peace that comes from the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Here are some questions to consider as you study: “[W]hy do we insist on carrying our rocks alone?” How has Christ been a "relief" in your life? President Johnson teaches that we can partner with the Savior to offer temporal and spiritual relief to those in need.
"Our hearts were drawn to the call of a prophet this April 2023 conference weekend. He reminded us that the easiest way to identify a follower of Christ is how compassionately that person treats other people. He told us that charity is the principal characteristic of a true follower of Christ, how charity defines a peacemaker. He promised us that if we would follow his counsel, we would arise as a spiritually strong woman of Christ. And then he told us the best is yet to come for those who spend their lives building up others. The prophet invited us to examine our discipleship, to make adjustments so that our behavior would be representative of a true follower of Jesus Christ. To live and interact with others in a higher, holier way. “I invite you to remember Jesus Christ. Pray to have the courage and wisdom to say or do what He would.” For the next six months, we plan to accept this invitation. In April and May, we will learn to UNDERSTAND HIS LOVE as we study the life and attributes of the PEACE GIVER. In June and July, we will study how to FEEL HIS LOVE as we find ways to experience PERSONAL PEACE. In August and September, we will discover how to SHARE HIS LOVE as we learn how to become PEACEMAKERS.Love gives second chances. Love asks, How can I help? Love is the welcoming in. Love doesn't stand higher, but meets people where they are. Love is never too good for someone. Love is full of grace. Love does not call attention to self. Love has an understanding heart. Love assumes the best. Love will not stand for injustice, helps carry the burden, creates trust, has high hopes and expectations. Love doesn't leave when things get tough.Love never fails. We look forward to spending the next six months with you!"

During the October 2021 general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Primary General President Camille N. Johnson spoke to members about pondering their own personal narrative and allowing Christ to direct their story. Little did she know that six months later, her own narrative would shift as members worldwide sustained her as the Church's new Relief Society general president, effective Aug. 1. In this episode of the Church News podcast, President Johnson talks about allowing the Savior to be the “author and finisher” of her story — and the individual stories of all. Episode 31Queen Vashiti Fasting Faith FriendsEsther | July 25-31Lesson 31 “Thou Art Come … for Such a Time as This”#OldTestament2022 #comefollowme #comefollowme2022 #realtalkcomefollowmeJoin hosts Ganel-Lyn Condie and John Fossum as they discuss impactful topics from this week's Come, Follow Me lesson covering the book of Esther. Explore these important themes, topics, and questions: Who is Esther and what can we learn from this unique book of scripture? What spiritual gifts can we foster in the wake of opposition? How is Esther's story an example of letting God prevail? Why is “now” the most important moment of our lives? —----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Invitation: Try to unlock the power of fasting to help you overcome obstacles in your life. —----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Quotes & Links: Link to Come, Follow Me Through the Old Testament Book:https://www.seagullbook.com/real-talk-real-life-scripture-journal-old-testament.htmlSister Barbara B. Smith Quote: “Each woman in today's world has responsibilities akin to those which Esther faced. The circumstances of each life are significantly different, yet each woman faces the challenge of being true to the principles of the gospel if she would improve the quality of her mortal life and make herself worthy of the opportunity of eternal progression. She should begin by understanding who she is and that she has magnificent potential as a daughter of God. Her goal then should be lofty. The scriptures say: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” Matt. 5:48 Quickly I caution that this is not an obtainable goal in one step or one day or one year. It takes a lifetime of conscious effort, of striving and learning and living, to become an holy woman.” [1979–O:107, Barbara B. Smith, Women for the Latter Day]Sister Camille N. Johnson Quote: “Esther is another beautiful example of letting God prevail. Rather than sticking with a cautious narrative of self-preservation [implying that her initial actions to become queen were done under this pretense?], she exercised faith, turning herself completely over to the Lord. Haman was plotting the destruction of all the Jews in Persia. Mordecai, Esther's relative, became aware of the plot and wrote to her, urging her to talk with the king on behalf of her people. She recounted to him that one who approaches the king without being summoned was subject to death. But in a tremendous act of faith, she asked Mordecai to gather the Jews and fast for her. “I also and my maidens will fast likewise,” she said, “and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.” [2021–O:80, Camille N. Johnson, Invite Christ to Author Your Story]President Nelson Quote: “The doctrine of fasting is ancient. It has been practiced by biblical heroes from the earliest days. Moses, David, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Isaiah, Daniel, Joel, and many others fasted and preached of fasting.” [2020–A:72, Russell M. Nelson, Opening the Heavens for Help]—----------------------------------------------------------------------Real Talk is presented by Seagull Book and hosted by Ganel-Lyn Condie and John Fossum.

Part of the purpose of the Primary program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to help children feel their Heavenly Father's love and to learn about His plan of happiness. The scriptures teach that children “shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of the children” (3 Nephi 22:13). During the Saturday afternoon session of April general conference, Latter-day Saints sustained a new Primary General Presidency, who will love and teach children. This episode of the Church News podcast features Primary General President Camille N. Johnson and her counselors, Sister Susan H. Porter and Sister Amy A. Wright. They talk about who they are, what it is like to be called and sustained as a general officer, what they love about Primary, and what they know now after a few weeks of serving in their new callings.
