Send us a textWe cover Giants rookie mini camp 2025, featuring an early look at Jaxson Dart as he begins his NFL journey. Hear how Dart performed in camp, why Brian Daboll was glued to him during drills, and what his early stats and command of the huddle might say about his future. Dart's mini camp showing included sharp throws, solid decision-making, and a 45-yard touchdown bomb that turned heads. We look at the symbolism and where Carter fits in among linebackers. The Giants also made a key addition, signing TJ Moore, a ball-hawking cornerback from Mercer, who stood out at camp and has real potential to crack the Giants final roster. Send us a textIn this episode of *2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates*, Drew and Rob delve into the New York Giants' recent announcement that Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll will retain their positions as general manager and head coach, respectively, despite the team's disappointing 3-14 record. Giants owner John Mara issued a statement expressing confidence in Schoen and Daboll's long-term vision while acknowledging the frustration of back-to-back seasons with declining results. Mara emphasized the importance of improvement next year, noting that his patience is wearing thin. The hosts analyze the Giants' struggles, including a winless record in the NFC East, and the questions surrounding the organization's refusal to tank despite whispers of strategic decisions like keeping key players Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Jr. on the sidelines during a critical late-game drive. They explore Mara's strong stance against tanking and the weight of his words about needing to see tangible progress in 2024. Attention also shifts to the potential departure of offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, as the Chicago Bears have requested permission to interview him for their head coaching vacancy. The future of defensive coordinator Wink Martindale is also up in the air, leaving the coaching staff in a state of uncertainty as the offseason begins. Drew and Rob evaluate the futures of key players, including Darius Slayton, Azeez Ojulari, and Greg Van Roten. Slayton's production dipped in 2024, making his $7.95 million cap hit a point of debate, while Ojulari's frequent injuries cloud his value despite his pass-rushing ability. Meanwhile, Van Roten played every offensive snap last season and showed versatility across the offensive line, but his struggles in pass protection raise questions about whether he should return. Finally, the Giants made some early offseason moves, signing five players to reserve/futures contracts, including defensive linemen Casey Rogers and Ross Blacklock, centers Jimmy Morrissey and Bryan Hudson, and kicker Jude McAtamney. Drew and Rob discuss how these signings could impact the depth chart heading into next season. With Mara's ultimatum for progress and key decisions looming over the roster and coaching staff, the Giants face a crucial offseason that could define the franchise's trajectory for years to come. Tune in as Drew and Rob break it all down with their trademark insight and passion for Giants football.#giants #nygiants #nflSupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. In this episode of the Giants-focused podcast, the hosts delve into the team's post-draft maneuvers, scrutinizing the signings of undrafted free agents and the players invited to the rookie minicamp tryout. They kick off the discussion by dissecting the diverse skill sets and potential contributions of each newly signed undrafted free agent.First up is Ayir Asante, a versatile wide receiver hailing from Wyoming, known for his speed, agility, and willingness to adapt to various roles on the field. Next on the roster is Jon Jiles, a wide receiver with a towering frame and a knack for making contested catches. The Giants also bolstered their offensive line with the addition of Jake Kubas, a sturdy guard from North Dakota State known for his consistency and durability. On the defensive side of the ball, Marcellus Johnson, a versatile offensive lineman with experience at both guard and tackle positions, brings a blend of athleticism and tenacity to the trenches. Additionally, the Giants fortified their defensive line with the acquisition of Casey Rogers, a disruptive force in the trenches with a penchant for disrupting opposing offenses. The Giants also added depth to their linebacker corps with the signing of Ovie Oghuofo, a seasoned veteran with experience at multiple collegiate programs. In the secondary, the Giants secured the services of Alex Johnson, a versatile defensive back known for his ball-hawking skills and athleticism. Johnson's impressive pro day performance and knack for creating turnovers could earn him a spot on the Giants' roster as a rotational defender and special teams contributor. Finally, the hosts discuss the players invited to the rookie minicamp tryout, highlighting their potential to earn a roster spot through their performance and dedication during the camp:Chris Autman-Bell WR ConnecticutNick Mardner WR AuburnTE Jjay McAfee TE Georgia SouthernTreyton Pickering TE Montana StateWIlliam Barnes OL North CarolinaJD Duplian OL Michigan StateChaz Neal OL Florida AtlanticElijah Chatman DT SMUQuae Drake LB Jacksonville StateAndre White LB Georgia TechKalon Gervin DB KansasBen Labrosse DB McGillThe absence of offensive and defensive line prospects in the Giants' draft picks marks a notable departure from their usual strategy, marking the first time since 2016 that such positions were not addressed. Speculation arose regarding the Giants' apparent interest in quarterback JJ McCarthy, with suggestions that it may have been a strategic ploy to manipulate draft dynamics. Adam Schefter's insights propose that the Giants' purported interest in McCarthy could have served as a smokescreen to induce the Minnesota Vikings into trading up with the Los Angeles Chargers, ensuring that Joe Alt remained available for selection. Meanwhile, NFL Network analyst Marc Ross, a former Giants executive, opined that prioritizing a quarterback in the first round would have been a wiser move, emphasizing the fundamental importance of quarterback play over the allure of top-tier receivers in salvaging a team's offensive performance.#giants #nygiants #nfldraftSupport the Show. All Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. Oregon Football has added another transfer this offseason, as Dan Lanning's defense has added another defensive lineman from Nebraska in Casey Rogers. The move makes sense in one way, but in another it doesn't--Rogers is using his last year of eligibility to come to a team that's tremendously deep at the position he plays. Oregon's interior defensive line is fairly set with Brandon Dorlus, Popo Aumavae, Sam Taimani, and Keyon-Ware Hudson, meaning it might be tough for Rogers to see a lot of snaps this year. On this episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin looks at recent transfer additions for Oregon Football and Men's Basketball. After losing an assistant coach this offseason, Dana Altman hired Chuck Martin from South Carolina's staff to replace Chris Crutchfield. That hire is already yielding results now that the Ducks have added a former Gamecock in 6'4" combo guard Jermaine Couisnard. Couisnard, who averaged over 11 points per game and 3 assists, is the second backcourt transfer this offseason along with Colorado's Keeshawn Barthelemy. With production and experience at the power 5 level, the Ducks figure to play Couisnard plenty next season. With other incoming players in the backcourt in the 2022 recruiting/transfer class, it seems unlikely Will Richardson will play a fifth season under Dana Altman. First of all, let me say I'm sorry not sorry for this show. Todd and Greg made me wait on zoom 30 minutes before either of them showed up. By that time I'd become goofy with delirium. I have been facing a lot of hard problems at work and today I wondered what would be like if all I had to do is take care of a horse. I asked the guys the question, "What do you think it be easier to take care of, your home electronics or a horse?" I used to work with a guy who lamented about the daily chaos in our lives and wished out loud that we were still living in the environment of the 1880s. He also believed that they were finding giant in archaeology sites and that the government was covering all of it up. It's not a great start for a show that goes on and off the rails all the way through out. It doesn't help that Todd is old man cranky because it woken up from a nap just to do the podcast. Along the way, I tell the story about how I once punched a horse in the face. We discuss the Casey Rogers news from every possible angle. Todd does an incredible job of old man cranky, complaining that most of these players don't care about the concept of “team” anymore. We discuss the baseball team, the softball team, and the new basketball player transfer from Alabama. I utter the phrase “dunnies and buckies” because it's late and I'm tired. Then somehow stagger into a conversation about how I would die killing a grizzly bear with my head. It might be a great time. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

-Uh, oh. Rogers was never a star on the line but he certainly was important, and unfortunately missed the Spring because of an injury suffered on the final play against Iowa in November -Nebraska now has 3 scholarship defensive tackles and 5 scholarship defensive ends, with the oldest of those being Tate Wildeman, who has 1 tackle in 4 career games -This is not good. And it makes Ochaun Mathis (or any sort of defensive lineman) all the more important in “portal season” Show sponsored by GANA TRUCKINGAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
-Casey Rogers enters the portal…if Nebraska doesn't get Ochaun Mathis, who can they get from the portal to fill spots on the defensive line? -Oscar Tshiebwe is staying at Kentucky for likely $2 million in NIL…can you imagine Nebraska getting to a level like that with a player? -Nebraska offers 2024 CB Jeremiah Newcombe, the son of Bobby Newcombe…how good of a player is he?
