Bill Belichick's pledge to build the North Carolina football program from the inside out starts with the defensive tackles and this position room is one of the thinnest, if not the thinnest, in the Kenan Football Center. Inside Carolina's Jason Staples joins host Tommy Ashley to discuss the superlatives in the room and the three newest editions - CJ Mims, Isaiah Johnson and D'Antre Robinson. Staples also goes in-depth on the defensive tackle position and how Belichick and staff have moved pieces around in the past to field a successful unit despite any personnel shortcomings. Bring on the defensive tackles! We rip through the pages of the Draftmas Catalog to check out the options available in the NFL Draft.
Headlines and another look into our Draftmas Catalaog! We turn the pages to defensive tackles and take a look at the options available to the Seahawks and what they might actually be looking for. :30- The Mariners hitting over the last 8 games has been different and the numbers prove it; so, is Kevin Seitzer's philosophy working? So, we have a little session of “How it started/How it's going.” - Being more aggressive on the base paths and create the havoc- 2nd in stolen bases - 10.3 SO per game to 8.8 is not a huge improvement, but it's going from the worst to 12th worst and that's improvement and even better the last 8 games. - Runners in scoring position still seems like a big problem, but even that is seeing slight improvement. :45- We head to the island of Misfit Picks for a look at some of the odd picks available in this year's NFL Draft. - The one and only Cameron Skattebo- he's lumpy, lopsided and last time we saw him he was puking on the field. - No, the Seahawks should not take a running back high in the draft, but if we really want to play old school football, Skattebo would make a great fullback

The Chicago Bears have gaps in their defensive front and need to add quality depth to the defensive tackle position. The roster currently features two strong interior defenders, Gervon Dexter and Andrew Billings, with additional depth from Zacch Pickens and Chris Williams. Pickens has underperformed since he was selected 65th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. While Williams provided a nice spark with some upside last season, the Bears should not rely on him to be the third defensive tackle. They must concentrate on adding quality depth through both free agency and the draft. The best opportunity for the Bears to acquire new talent along the defensive front will be during the early and middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren for SB Nations to discuss several Buffalo Bills and AFC topics, including a discussion of why the Bills interior defensive line is largely underachieving so far this season. The Bills have won three of their first four games and for the most the defense has played well. However, the defensive tackle has surprisingly been inconsistent if not a sore spot. Ed Oliver has looked ordinary at times and invisible at others while DaQuan Jones hasn't come close to the effective start he had over the first month last season, when it could be argued he was the team's defensive MVP early on. Patrick and Matt discuss both guys and try to figure out why they're not getting the production that at times becomes sorely missed, none so more than Sunday night in Baltimore when both were complete non-factors. They also discuss veteran addition Austin Johnson and third-round rookie DeWayne Carter getting off to very slow starts as well. Defensive tackle play wasn't the only area of this team that feels exposed on the hells of the Bills embarrassing loss in Baltimore Sunday night. The guys discuss why they think this team has both a safety and wide receiver problem, something that's been brewing since before the start of training camp. That said, the guys are careful to not completely overreact to one game and offer perspective on Buffalo winning three of their first four games. Matt also has some thoughts from around the league, including the Miami Dolphins being absolute toast already in the AFC east, the New York Jets a team that feels completely capable of imploding, the Kansas City Chiefs continuing to find ways to win every week, respect due to the Ravens and plenty more.
