1. NFC North -Have you ever seen a better situation for a #1 overall pick to walk into? What can Bears fans realistically expect from Caleb Williams in his rookie season? -Do you think Kiran Amegadjie makes more sense as a long-term replacement for Braxton Jones at LT, or as a long-term replacement for Teven Jenkins at guard? -How good of a chance do you think Austin Booker has to develop into Montez Sweat's long-term bookend for the Bears? -What makes J.J. McCarthy and Kevin O'Connell a hand-in-glove fit schematically speaking? -What makes Dallas Turner potentially worth this massive price (six total picks) for the Vikings? -Do you anticipate Jordan Morgan being the Packers starting left tackle come Week 1 or do you see him starting his NFL career inside? -If one of Edgerrin Cooper or Javon Bullard (or both) makes a solid contribution this season, can we be very confident that this Packers defense finally plays up to their potential after two underwhelming years? -Would it be a massive disappointment if this 2024 Lions defense isn't the best D Dan Campbell has had in his time in Detroit thus far? -Would you be surprised to see either Christian Mahogany or Mekhi Wingo (or both) as a full-time starter in 2025? 2. NFC East -Why do you think the Commanders decided to go with Jayden Daniels over Drake Maye? -Even if it doesn't show up on the stat sheet, should we expect a pretty sizable impact from Ben Sinnott this season? -Would you bet on both Tyrone Tracy, Jr. and Theo Johnson becoming foundational pieces for this Giants offense along with Malik Nabers? -If Tyler Nubin and/or Andru Phillips makes a solid impact this year, are the Giants likely a top-12 defense or better? -In 2023, the Eagles surrendered 35 TD passes and only intercepted 9. With Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean now in the fold, how much should we expect those numbers to improve in Philly's favor this season? -What makes Jalyx Hunt such an intriguing project for Vic Fangio to work with? -Do you anticipate Cooper Beebe starting at the pivot for Dallas in 2024? -How optimistic should the Cowboys be about Marshawn Kneeland becoming a long-term defensive cornerstone like Demarcus Lawrence has been? 3. NFC South -Was Xavier Legette's breakout campaign last year a fluke or was it a sign of things to come? -Do you think Jonathon Brooks is likely to be the centerpiece of the Panthers offense in Year 1 of the Dave Canales era? -If Kirk Cousins shows even the slightest signs of decline between now and 2026, should the Falcons hand the reins over to Michael Penix, Jr. two years from now? -We all know Raheem Morris can maximize defensive talent, thus are you bullish on two of these three picks (Ruke Orhorhoro, Bralen Trice, Brandon Dorlus) being hits? -Are you at least somewhat puzzled by Taliese Fuaga's schematic fit with the Saints? -If the 2024 season goes south for the Saints, should they be willing to start Spencer Rattler for say 3-5 games? -What does Graham Barton offer the Bucs from Day 1 and how much improvement should we expect from their running game this season? -Do you think Chris Braswell has what it takes to become a full-time starter for the Bucs? 4. NFC West -How does Darius Robinson improve this Cardinals defensive front from Day 1 and what is the best way to utilize him? -What made Trey Benson stand out from all the other running backs in this class and do you believe he's fully capable of shouldering a heavier workload at the NFL level? -Is it fair to expect a DROY level performance from Byron Murphy this year? -Can you see Blake Corum getting 35-40% of the carries for the Rams this year? -What makes Ricky Pearsall the ideal WR for a Kyle Shanahan offense? -Would you be surprised to see both Renardo Green and Malik Mustapha end up as starters for the 49ers by 2025, if not sooner?

All of the conversation around town is surrounding the Atlanta Falcons' decision to draft Michael Penix Jr with the eighth pick in the 2024 draft, and deservingly so. The Falcons just signed Kirk Cousins to a four-year contract, and told fans that they were playing for now. Although the Falcons didn't seem to draft to win now in the first round of the draft, they did seem to do so in the later rounds. In rounds 2-4 the falcons drafted three defensive linemen: Ruke Orhorhoro, Brandon Dorlus, and Bralen Trice. Bralen Trice racked up sixteen sacks in the last two years and led college football in quarterback pressures last season. This goes a little un-noticed in this part of the country, largely because Trice played at the University of Washington. Andy Bunker attended the University of Washington and knows a thing or two about Bralen Trice, and thinks that he may be the Falcons' best edge rusher already. But is that a good thing? Andy and Randy McMichael discuss Bralen Trice and the rest of the Falcons' day two and three draft picks.

Head on over to YouTube - don't forget to subscribe! https://youtube.com/live/iGSLInTuhjw It's the final show before a colossal Saturday of college football, and Andy is ranking his five most intriguing matchups of the day before welcoming some very special guests. (0:00-15:14) Mike Golic Jr. (The GoJo and Golic Show) is a former Notre Dame offensive lineman who grew up in a Notre Dame family. He and Andy discuss just how big Ohio State's visit to South Bend is and whether QB Sam Hartman has made Notre Dame capable of playing on Ohio State's level. Golic also is calling the Colorado-Oregon game for Learfield radio, so he's pumped to head to Eugene to see the Deion Sanders Effect in person. (15:15-39:21) Oregon defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus also will be in Eugene when the Buffaloes arrive. Dorlus tells Andy which rapper he'd have leading the Ducks out of the tunnel. He also breaks down his golf game and his sideline eating habits. (39:22-53:57) Back east, former Ohio State linebacker Bobby Carpenter (The Bobby Carpenter Show, SiriusXM Radio) explains why this version of the Buckeyes' defense is better than it has been in the past two years. Bobby also discusses former Buckeyes teammate Marcus Freeman, who grew up to be Notre Dame's head coach. (53:58-1:08:46) Andy's extra point zeros in on a potential mistake by North Carolina's social media team as the Tar Heels prepare to face Pittsburgh. Oregon DT Brandon Dorlus announced he is returning to Oregon for one last season in Eugene after being named a 2nd-team All-Pac 12 player this season. He brings back many things to the Ducks, and they're all good for the Ducks' defensive prospects. On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin is joined by 'Locked On Sun Devils' host Richie Bradshaw to break down their latest transfer on defense. What did Connor Soelle show at Arizona State to grab the attention of Dan Lanning and his staff, and where could he fit into the Ducks' defensive scheme? For months, Oregon thought they would be getting 5-star QB Dante Moore before a late flip to UCLA. They were still able to land 4-star 23' QB Austin Novosad and get Bo Nix back for another year, but how much of a loss could that be looking into the distant future? The transfer portal has already seen notable players like WR Dont'e Thornton and LB Justin Flowe depart the Ducks with plenty of untapped potential. Would an emerging contributor to the offense in Kris Hutson be next to try and find a place where he can get more touches? On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin examines what could come next in the transfer portal/roster openings department for the Ducks. Brandon Dorlus and Noah Sewell are likely NFL Draft picks, so why hasn't either announced that he will declare? Oregon added an under-the-radar addition to the 2023 cycle who could make a surprising, if understated, impact on the Ducks next year. Finally, a fun mailbag question to carry over into the weekend. The Oregon Ducks dominated the Stanford Cardinal deep into Saturday night and they came out on top 45-27 to improve to 2-0 in Pac-12 play and 4-1 on the season. Following the win, DuckTerritory.com's Matt Prehm, Erik Skopil, and Jared Mack give their main takeaways from the win, what stood out, what they didn't like, and what we learned from Oregon's postgame media availability with head coach Dan Lanning, Bo Nix, Alex Forsyth, Bennett Williams, and Brandon Dorlus. Oregon Football HC Dan Lanning has often talked about a growth mindset in good times and bad, and the Ducks should not be resting on their laurels despite a dominant, well-rounded performance against then-12th ranked BYU. The defense was stout against the run and if they can replicate that performance will give the Ducks a great chance to win this week against WSU. On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin starts to look at some of the most important factors going into the Ducks' Pac-12 opener in Pullman this week. When it comes to getting after Washington State QB Cam Ward, players like DJ Johnson, Brandon Dorlus, and Mase Funa will be players who need to step up and at least make him uncomfortable in the pocket. CB Trikweze Bridges had some tough moments last week against the Cougars, Spencer holds off (for now) on making a score prediction, but one listener asks about the most important components to the game for Oregon to come back home victorious on Saturday. Washington State had a HUGE win @ #19 Wisconsin in Week 2, and for Oregon to avoid the same fate as the Badgers they have to make the Cougars beat them and not beat themselves. Fall camp is now just TWO days away! On this episode, host Max Torres previews what's in store for the Oregon defense in 2022. The Ducks have a bunch of talent at every level of their defense, but there's varying levels of production and experience. Starting up front, expectations are high for the defensive line with returning veterans like Brandon Dorlus, Popo Aumavae and Keyon Ware-Hudson. They're joined by newcomer and Washington transfer Sam 'Taki' Taimani. Moving back to the linebackers, Noah Sewell and Justin Flowe headline what is one of the most talented linebacker corps in the entire country. Behind them you have some very promising young talent in Jeffrey Bassa, Jackson LaDuke and Keith Brown. Oregon also added speedsters Harrison Taggart and Devon Jackson, who could see the field sooner than later with their crazy speed. DJ Johnson and Bradyn Swinson look like they could be the answer for pass rusher as the defense looks to fill the void created by Kayvon Thibodeaux's departure. In the secondary Bennett Williams boasts the most experience at safety, while the Ducks hope of breakouts by Trikweze Bridges, Jamal Hill and Steve Stephens IV among others. Cornerback is the youngest position group and looks like it will be led by Colorado transfer Christian Gonzalez while they hope for some younger and newer faces to step up like Dontae Manning and Jahlil Florence. Oregon Defensive Lineman Brandon Dorlus
Oregon Football has added another transfer this offseason, as Dan Lanning's defense has added another defensive lineman from Nebraska in Casey Rogers. The move makes sense in one way, but in another it doesn't--Rogers is using his last year of eligibility to come to a team that's tremendously deep at the position he plays. Oregon's interior defensive line is fairly set with Brandon Dorlus, Popo Aumavae, Sam Taimani, and Keyon-Ware Hudson, meaning it might be tough for Rogers to see a lot of snaps this year. On this episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin looks at recent transfer additions for Oregon Football and Men's Basketball. After losing an assistant coach this offseason, Dana Altman hired Chuck Martin from South Carolina's staff to replace Chris Crutchfield. That hire is already yielding results now that the Ducks have added a former Gamecock in 6'4" combo guard Jermaine Couisnard. Couisnard, who averaged over 11 points per game and 3 assists, is the second backcourt transfer this offseason along with Colorado's Keeshawn Barthelemy. With production and experience at the power 5 level, the Ducks figure to play Couisnard plenty next season. With other incoming players in the backcourt in the 2022 recruiting/transfer class, it seems unlikely Will Richardson will play a fifth season under Dana Altman. When it comes to offensive skill positions, Dan Lanning comes into his first year with Oregon Football with seemingly more questions than answers. The wide receiver room has lost its top 4 contributors heading into the 2021 season last year: Johnny Johnson III, Jaylon Redd, Devon Williams, and Micah Pittman. Kris Hutson has the most experience with the Ducks after ending his freshman campaign VERY strong, and UCLA transfer WR Chase Cota brings a veteran presence to a young and talented position group. There have been calls amongst Duck fans to "unleash the skinnies" in reference to Don'te Thornton and Troy Franklin, who are 6'4" and 6'2" respectively. Could one of them step up and fill the role that 6'4" Devon Williams has fulfilled the last couple of seasons as a big-body receiver who lines up out wide? With Bo Nix (potentially) behind center this year, having that threat on the outside would be a boon to Oregon's offense under new OC Kenny Dillingham. Tight ends may not be the flashiest position on the football field, but for Oregon it is perhaps their deepest and most talented position group on either side of the ball. Amongst an impressive list of players that include Terrance Ferguson, Spencer Webb, and Moliki Matavao, it can be easy to forget about guys like Cam McCormick and Patrick Herbert. They provide Oregon with great depth at tight end, but also have themselves set up for a competitive battle to make their way up the depth chart. Long-term, it could be very difficult to keep them all in Eugene. In the trenches, the offensive line has seen several departures in recent weeks. Still, a strong and experienced core of run/pass blockers remain for the Ducks in 2022 led by guys like Alex Forsyth, Steven Jones, TJ Bass, Ryan Walk, and other familiar names. On the defensive line, there are some assurances like Brandon Dorlus, Popo Aumavae, and Bradyn Swinson (who might need to step up as an edge player). But there are some questions, as well. The Dawgman.com interns - Jack McCauley and Intern Emeritus Luke Mounger - break down what they've seen from the Oregon Ducks so far this season and how they match up against the Washington Huskies going into Saturday afternoon's game at Husky Stadium. Luke tackles the Ducks' offense first, focusing with his take on their quarterback, Anthony Brown. He also touches on their offensive line and the skill players the Ducks should rely on to move the ball against Washington, namely Travis Dye, Johnny Johnson, Devon Williams, and Mycah Pittman. How will the Huskies try and stem UO's potent run game? They've had difficulty all year stopping good run offenses, but has the emergence of younger defenders like Carson Bruener and Voi Tunuufi help change that trend? And can Washington's pass defense, which has been really good all year long, continue to hold up and force Oregon into some uncomfortable down-and-distance situations? Do they resemble any other teams the Huskies have faced? Moving to the other side of the ball, Jack breaks down Oregon's players of note on their defense, starting with defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux. He also mentions Keyon Ware-Hudson, Popo Aumavae, and Brandon Dorlus as other defensive linemen to pay attention to. Moving to linebacker, Noah Sewell is the man in the middle for Oregon. He also talks about Oregon's secondary, including Mykael Wright, DJ James, Verone McKinley, Jamal Hill, Steve Stephens, and others, where they are the No. 10 pass defense in the Pac-12. Are there some holes in the Ducks' defense that Washington can exploit? Jack and Luke go into some of the UW players that would need to have big days to keep up with the No. 4 Ducks, as well as schemes and plays they expect to see from the Huskies to combat UO's defense. And they think the weather could be a factor too. To finish up the preview podcast, Jack and Luke give their confidence levels for a Washington win. There's no question if the Huskies were able to defeat Oregon it would be considered a big upset. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Kyle Bonagura had an excellent piece up on ESPN.com Wednesday taking readers behind the scenes of Nick Rolovich's firing at Washington State. Bonagura stops by The I-5 Corridor today to talk about his story, where Washington State goes from here and whether or not any or Oregon's numerous coaches with WSU connections will be considered for the vacant job. That interview starts at the 23-minute marker. Before that, Aidan had a question for Tyson: Would it even be a good thing for this Ducks team to make the Playoff this season?
