Chris Moreno is a Nashville based recording artist, who in just a short period of time has been making waves as an up and coming artist to watch. On the heels of a 4th of July performance in front of 60k people opening up for Walker Hayes in Fort Bragg, NC, he currently has over 10 million global streams with over 150k monthly listeners. His songs "Used To This" and "Running in Place have generated a ton of buzz racking up millions of streams and millions of views on TikTok. Chris has performed 500+ shows in over 20 states and has opened for national acts Parmalee, Walker Hayes and others. Known for having an extremely loyal fan base which started in Boston and is quickly expanding to the rest of the world through consistent touring and an engaged online presence (200k followers) he performs both acoustic and with his band. He was nominated for Best Country Artist three years in a row by the New England & Boston Music Awards, as well as best songwriter, and best song (Before You), and Chris is slated to have a big 2022. His honest sound and sincere delivery connects with fans on a personal level and at its core, Moreno's music is a genuine reflection of his real life experiences and down-to-earth personality. As one reviewer put it, his songs “draw in the listener as if a deep secret or universal truth is about to be revealed.” Moreno's music mixes elements of a modern country sound with a noticeable Pop/Rock edge, and he brazenly wears the alternative rock influences of the 90's and 2000's on his sleeve. The result is a unique sound that feels both fresh and familiar at the same time. Chris continues to tour and put out a steady stream of music and has worked with Nashville producers Jonathan Roye (Kelsea Ballerini) and Justin Wantz. It is time for your bi-weekly Gutter Boys fix, sweaty. We're joined by LA-based comic writer Aubrey Sitterson to discuss his upcoming crowdfunded comics, Beef Bros (with Tyrell Cannon & Fico Ossio) and Stoned Master (with Chris Moreno), as well as his Dark Horse run with No One Left to Fight (with Fico Ossio) and the recently announced Savage Hearts (Jed Dougherty & Lovern Kindzierski). In the first half, the boys go over some recent comic names in the news who seem to have a penchant for sexualizing children (and yes it's comicsg@te related), promising non-profit business models for comics, and the problem with charging creators to be published in anthologies. Patrick talked to Aubrey Sitterson and Chris Moreno about The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling. And the recording turned out to be virtually unlistenable due to technological issues. So… Patrick recreates the conversation entirely in his voice, minus most of his actual dialog. Sound weird? It is! But it was too good of a conversation to not share. Now it’s a monologue! Bonus: the actual nigh-undecipherable interview is included. Sorry, Aubrey! Sorry, Chris! Curse you, Pamela (the program; not a person)! Including: The democratizing of opinion sharing; “Worth”, their previous graphic novel collaboration; pro wrestling, of course! Not mentioned: Aubrey and Patrick each wrote dialog for Mike Norton’s “Battlepug” and for the same characters!

From Frank Gotch and Ed "Strangler" Lewis to Giant Baba, El Santo, and Vince McMahon's modern-day WWE, the history of pro wrestling is colorful, detailed, and always fascinating. So it makes a surprising amount of sense that The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling would be the best way to tell the story of the squared circle. Co-creators Aubrey Sitterson and Chris Moreno join us to discuss melding the worlds of comics and wrestling literature, including how they condensed years of wrestling history into 170 beautiful pages.
There are No Photo Ops for This Episode (Contest of Challengers) This episode does not contain an interview with Aubrey Sitterson and Chris Moreno from The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling, and we tell you the unfortunate reason why. Hopefully, the end of the continuing story of Challengers and our alarm company. Paperwork and bureaucracy! Ace Comic Con Chicago is happening. Great for celebrity photo ops! No so much for, you know, comics. Jook Joint #1 is pretty brutal, but certainly worth the read. It’s pretty ballsy of Marvel to pay tribute to Ghost Rider creator Gary Friedrich.

This week, we’ve got two conversations with people who have made big waves in the world of wrestling in the past few weeks. First, Mike Eagle speaks with Aubrey Sitterson and Chris Moreno. They’re the creators of The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling. The two go deep on the book and what it was like creating the first major historical record of the art form that is wrestling. Then, in a conversation recorded live at San Diego Comic-Con courtesy of Gamma Ray TV, Danielle and Hal sit down with Marty the Moth. These days he’s known for being the Lucha Underground Champion. But there was a time that he was just trying to get the attention of WWE for a chance to live his dream as a professional wrestler. Marty will detail his journey from watching wrestling for the first time to WWE’s reality show Tough Enough all the way to the temple of Lucha Underground. Hosted by Danielle Radford, Mike Eagle and Hal Lublin. Produced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun. If you want to talk about more wrestling throughout the week be sure to join us on Facebook and @TightsFights on Twitter and Instagram. If you liked the show, please share it with your friends and be sure to leave us a quick review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get podcasts.
