Este es un pequeño homenaje a aquellas olvidadas pioneras de los grupos de rock’n’roll.(Foto del podcast; The Pleasure Seekers en 1967)Playlist;(sintonía) CHIYO and THE CRESCENTS “Devil surf” (1963)THE GIRLS “My baby” (1965)THE CONTINENTAL CO-ETS “I don’t love you no more” (1966)DENISE and COMPANY “Boy, what’ll you do then” (1965?)THE LIVERBIRDS “Too much monkey business” (1965)THE LIVERBIRDS “Down home girl” (1965)THE DAUGHTERS OF EVE “Help me boy” (1967)THE DAUGHTERS OF EVE “Don’t waste my time” (1967)SHE “Outta reach” (1970)SHE “Piece of you” (1970?)THE ANGELS “Get away from me” (196?)LYN and THE INVADERS “Boy is gone” (1966)MAMA CATS “Miss you” (1967)THE SHANSHERS “Johnny B. Exactamente el 1 de febrero de 1964 The Beatles alcanzan el número 1 con su primer single lanzado en el mercado americano. Los artistas estadounidenses aún no podían imaginarse la fiebre que se iba a desatar, la inminente llegada de la invasión británica o lo que iban a cambiar las cosas en los gustos de los jóvenes. En esta nueva entrega de nuestra serie dedicada al Billboard Hot 100 recordamos canciones que llegaron a su puesto más alto en este mes de hace 60 años, dando forma a la música popular del momento.Playlist;(sintonía) THE MARKETTS “Out of limits (top 3)THE BEATLES “I want to hold your hand” (top 1)LESLEY GORE “You don’t own me” (top 2)RICKY NELSON “For you” (top 6)THE FOUR SEASONS “Dawn (go away)” (top 3)THE RIVIERAS “California sun” (top 5)THE RIP CHORDS “Hey Little Cobra” (top 4)JIMMY GILMER and THE FIREBALLS “Daisy petal pickin’” (top 15)AL “HE IS THE KING HIRT “Java” (top 4)THE COOKIES “Girls grow up faster than boys” (top 33)THE RONETTES “Baby I love you” (top 24)THE GIRLFRIENDS “My one and only Jimmy boy” (top 49)THE CRESCENTS featuring CHIYO “Pink dominos” (top 69)GINNY ARGEL “Dumb head” (top 50)OTIS REDDING “Pain in my heart” (top 61)MAJOR LANCE “Um, Um, Um, Um, Um, Um” (top 5)BON and EARL “Harlem shuffle” (top 44)HENRY MANCINI and his ORCHESTRA “Charade” (top 36)DIONNE WARWICK “Anyone who had a heart” (top 8)Escuchar audio

Come A Little Bit Closer is the comeback record released by The Delltones following the death of their lead singer Noel Widerberg. With the support of Noels family, The Dellies recruited former Crescents member Col Loughnan and they hit the studio with Johnny O'Keefe as producer. Together they created a classic version of Come A Little Bit Closer. The song was the highest selling Australian single for 1963, as well as winning Song of the Year at the Australian Radio Awards. Our specials guests are Pee Wee Wilson and Col Loughnan.
Made it again after more medical misadventures; Covid this time, with various implications for the voice! I am going to take a three-month break with the publication of this one; recharge the batteries! Episode 3 of the TV Series is taken from an LP, The Johnny O'Keefe Show (a 1962 episode). The LP was reissued on CD. However, no attempt was made to fix the pitch of Johnny's various introductions; he sounded like he had a peg on his nose! To the best of my limited skill, I have recalibrated the pitch with, hopefully a better sound (no pegged noses!). The episode itself presents a bevy of Australian Rock & Pop stars including; Warren Williams, The Crescents, The Fauns, Ian Crawford, Lonnie Lee, Paul Wayne, Barry Stanton, Warren Carr and, JO'K himself. Enjoy The Johnny O'Keefe Show!

Sitting down with special guest Meredith Griffin Connect with your employees - most wines are blends meaning winemakers are pulling the strengths from different wines or different vineyards to create a perfect bottle. It's similar to a successful team; when you are building that dynamite team are you going to focus on the team's weaknesses or would you rather focus on the team's strengths? Focusing on the individual strengths of someone and blending that in with someone who has a different set of strengths creates a ripple effect allowing the team to lean on each other's strengths to make each other better - which in the long run makes for a well-blended team. Ingredients to Well-Blended Team “Down the HR Rabbit Hole” is a podcast produced, recorded, and published by Crescent Payroll Solutions, LLC. The podcast is hosted by Sanders Offner, the founder, and CEO of Crescent. His cohosts and alternates are Philip Carrillo, an HR Advisor for empact HR, Richelle Chategnier, Sales Lead for Crescent range of products and services. Our goal for “Down the HR Rabbit Hole” is simple. We want to introduce you to business owners, HR thought leaders and managers, and experts from specialized fields. They'll share hard-earned wisdom, expertise, and insights with you every two weeks, you decide what you want to do with it. We want to give you, our clients, friends, and audience practical, everyday value, sampling current Human Capital trends. About Crescent Crescent was founded in May 2011. Its founder, Sanders Offner, spent many years prior to starting Crescent with a national payroll firm where he learned the business. Starting his own bureau out in a closet in his house, Sanders worked hard to build strong infrastructure around best-in-class customer service and relationships with his clients. July, 2020, in response to client demand, Sanders and his business partner, Justin Farrae, completed the Human Capital Management service vertical with the introduction of empact HR, a fractional HR services department, which focuses on providing small to medium businesses with HR guidance, resources, and tools. Over the summer, Ken Ham has been bragging about record attendance at the Ark Encounter and how their 40 Days and 40 Nights series of Gospel Music shows were causing people to “pour” into the Ark. Today I received my monthly KORA information and it turns out attendance for August 2021 was 83,826. This was much higher than August 2020 when people were in more due to Covid, but MUCH lower than any previous August since attendance has been public record. Ark attendance has never come close to the claims made when Grant County, Williamstown, and the State were suckered into giving the Ark every possible break. As usual, it should be pointed out that Ham would claim attendance is actually vastly higher due to lifetime pass holders and children attending. Of course if Ham or his organization have any information on the numbers of pass holders and unpaid children visiting, they are welcome to present their numbers (they have turnstiles at the Ark). 2017: July: 142,626 (Safety Fee amount: $71,313.00) August: 106,161 ($53,080.50) September: 83,330 ($41,665.00) October: 93,659 ($46,829.50) November: 51,914 ($25,957.00) December: 36,472 ($18,236.00) 2018: January: 13,250 ($6,625.00) February: 17,961 ($8,980.50) March: 62,251 ($31,125.50) April: 67,613 ($33,806.50) May: 73,353 ($36,676.50) June: 113,901 ($56,950.50) July: 135,922 ($67,961.00) August: 98,106 ($49,053.00) September: 69,207 ($34,603.50) October: 89,434 ($44,717.00) November: 40,193 ($20,096.50) December: 46,400 ($24,200.00) 2019: January: 14,885 ($7,442.50) February: 16,328 ($8,164.00) March 2019: 70,466 ($35,233.00) April 2019: 79,908 ($39,554.00) May 2019: 90,803 ($45,401.50) June 2019: 124,230 ($62,115.00) July 2019: 160,124 ($80,062.00) August 2019: 104,350 ($52,175) September 2019: 73,541 ($36,770.50) October 2019: 86,998 ($43,494.00) November 2019: 37,686 ($18,881) December 2019: 37,880 ($18,940) 2020: January 2020: 15,790 ($7,895.00) February 2020: 17,290 ($8,645.00) March 2020: 15,145($7572.50) April 2020: 0 ($0) May 2020: 2,047 ($1,023.50) June 2020: 40,434 ($20,217.00) July 2020: 57,632 ($28,816.00) August 2020: 46,562 ($23,281.00) September 2020: 44,571 ($22,285.50) October 2020: 49,835 ($24,917.50) November 2020: 24,105 ($12,052.50) December 2020: 34,273 ($17,136.50) 2021 January 2021: 11,354 ($5,677) February 2021: 11,577 ($5,788.50) March 2021: 57, 801 ($28,900.50) April 2021: 64,479 ($32,239.50) May 2021: 76,089 ($38,044.50) June 2021: 109,694 ($54,847) July 2021: 134,945 ($67,472.50) August 2021: 83,826 ($41,913.00) ___ Our intro and outro music is Crescents by Ketsa, https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Ketsa/Raising_Frequecy/Crescents
A fill-in of sorts for this week's episode; the first in the Australian EPs series. This episode features two very early Australian EPs; Johnny O'Keefe & The Dee Jays with Whole Lotta' Shakin', their first EP, 1957, and The Crescents with their first EP, Rock Time, 1960. The two EPs are connected through Johnny O'Keefe because in his alias as "Johnny Cash Jnr.", he arranged and produced the Rock Time EP for The Crescents. The two EPs also share an unusual trait in that none of the tracks were released on an original 45 in Australia. The EP had a chequered lifespan in Australia, actually first appearing in 1954. At times, the EP became a cash-in, recycling songs that first appeared on a 45. These two EPs are not of that type! I hope to have the next episode in the Charts Series ready for next week. I'm missing one song but the 45 is in the mail. Fingers crossed!

The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2019/10/binary-system-podcast-194-wtnv-155-the-heist-part-3/ This week we recap the final episode of "The Heist" storyline, and the whole thing wrapped up neatly although NOT THE WAY WE THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO. Geez, Night Vale writers, give us a heart attack why don't you... Believe it or not, the recap only takes up the first ten minutes of this podcast. The rest is a We Can't Stop Digressing special as we talk about the new Picard trailer (practical makeup versus digital effects), the new season of Peaky Blinders (they haven't brought back Alexander Siddig's character and we're not happy about it), Carnival Row (the show should really consult with some furries about the best way to make digitigrade legs), and Elizabeth's trip to California Adventure Park (did YOU know George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch has a winery?) KY agrees to pay $16 million per year to let Baptists discriminate against LGBTQ community; Ark Encounter attendance is below 2018 and 2019 numbers despite Ken Ham's claims of setting records; Creationist Kent Hovind charged with domestic assault; Supreme Court to take case on taxpayer funding of religious schools. https://www.kentuckytoday.com/stories/sunrise-and-chfs-sign-contract-agreement-for-upcoming-year,33186 https://religionnews.com/2021/08/05/kent-hovind-controversial-creationist-preacher-known-as-dr-dino-arrested-in-domestic-assault-case/ https://www.npr.org/2021/07/02/1012586995/the-supreme-court-will-hear-a-case-on-the-funding-of-religious-schools By Dan Daniel Phelps. Ark June 2021 attendance In spite of Ken Ham recently claiming that attendance has returned to pre-CoVid levels, my Open Records request for the Safety Tax the Ark Encounter pays indicates that this isn't true for June 2021. In June 2021, the Ark Encounter sold 109,694 tickets. This number is lower than June 2018 and 2019, but far higher than June 2020. Of course Ham claims all attendance numbers are far higher due to children under 10 and lifetime pass holders. It is entirely possible that July 2021 will be far higher (Ham keeps claiming record days), but the information will not be available for several weeks. August 2021 may be far higher because of 40 day long music festival at the Ark, but this also remains to be seen. 2017: July: 142,626 (Safety Fee amount: $71,313.00) August: 106,161 ($53,080.50) September: 83,330 ($41,665.00) October: 93,659 ($46,829.50) November: 51,914 ($25,957.00) December: 36,472 ($18,236.00) 2018: January: 13,250 ($6,625.00) February: 17,961 ($8,980.50) March: 62,251 ($31,125.50) April: 67,613 ($33,806.50) May: 73,353 ($36,676.50) June: 113,901 ($56,950.50) July: 135,922 ($67,961.00) August: 98,106 ($49,053.00) September: 69,207 ($34,603.50) October: 89,434 ($44,717.00) November: 40,193 ($20,096.50) December: 46,400 ($24,200.00) 2019: January: 14,885 ($7,442.50) February: 16,328 ($8,164.00) March 2019: 70,466 ($35,233.00) April 2019: 79,908 ($39,554.00) May 2019: 90,803 ($45,401.50) June 2019: 124,230 ($62,115.00) July 2019: 160,124 ($80,062.00) August 2019: 104,350 ($52,175) September 2019: 73,541 ($36,770.50) October 2019: 86,998 ($43,494.00) November 2019: 37,686 ($18,881) December 2019: 37,880 ($18,940) 2020: January 2020: 15,790 ($7,895.00) February 2020: 17,290 ($8,645.00) March 2020: 15,145($7572.50) April 2020: 0 ($0) May 2020: 2,047 ($1,023.50) June 2020: 40,434 ($20,217.00) July 2020: 57,632 ($28,816.00) August 2020: 46,562 ($23,281.00) September 2020: 44,571 ($22,285.50) October 2020: 49,835 ($24,917.50) November 2020: 24,105 ($12,052.50) December 2020: 34,273 ($17,136.50) 2021 January 2021: 11,354 ($5,677) February 2021: 11,577 ($5,788.50) March 2021: 57, 801 ($28,900.50) April 2021: 64,479 ($32,239.50) May 2021: 76,089 ($38,044.50) June 2021: 109,694 ($54,847) Our intro and outro music is Crescents by Ketsa, https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Ketsa/Raising_Frequecy/Crescents

Love was certainly in the air in April of 1961: The Crescents, The De Kroo Brothers and, Col Joye & The Joy Boys all contribute to the voluminous "Love" musical canon! In May, we'll dance to the Hokey-Pokey, courtesy of a national chart debut from Johnny Chester with The Thunderbirds. And, in June, Bryan Davies has the highest-ranking chart success of the quarter with the very definition of "dreamy pop", Dream Girl! There's also a chart hit for Barry Stanton with a song penned by Johnny O'Keefe, that has one of the most ironic titles in (teen) pop history??
