We have been alluding to the fact that we would be talking to Tim at some point soon for quite a while now, months in fact, and this week we actually do. The Tim in question is of course Tim Sidwell. For those of you who don't know Tim (or what he actually does) then prepare to be informed, amazed and charmed. For those of you who do, look forward to an hour in his company, for as you know already, he really is a top man.And then of course we have the diary reading, which I don't actually think ends up taking us to any of the places we thought it might. Not that it matters... such is the attention to detail you will have come to expect here at TCD Towers.Anyway I have a plane to catch with young Vibes. Doubt is a tricky thing. It's neither good nor bad, it is simply the axis upon which the scales of hope and fear balance. It is the prerequisite of faith, belief, disbelief, and nihilism, all equal paths of equal circumstance. It is the fork in the road which Berra told us to take all the same.
The Biden administration is now using the language of “security, freedom, and prosperity in equal measures" for Palestinians and Israelis in its approach to Israel/Palestine. While the language may be new for the U.S. government, it's eerily familiar to us. We discuss the new language, what it might mean, and its similarities to language we've been using for years. We also discuss an important Washington Post op-ed by Michael Gerson on why he believes in systemic racism as a conservative, and how peacemaking is an invitation into “joyous implication.”Read and share the Principles and Practices of PeacemakingSubscribe to the Telos Newsletter for more news analysis and peacemaking resourcesFollow Telos on Instagram @thetelosgroupBecome a monthly donor to Telos! --Middle East Institute - Up for Debate: The Biden administration's approach to Israel/PalestineMichael Gerson Washington Post Op-ed - I'm a conservative who believes systemic racism is real
We all cherish that feeling when we accomplish something. But how do we feel, and more importantly how do we react when things go wrong. Today's guest is someone who has experienced both; the highs and the lows and she has some sage advice for how we should deal with both success and failure in equal measure.Dale Stafford started her own business in 1980 and under her leadership it became one of the UK's leading and best performing training providers. In 2006 Dale successfully sold that business to a private equity company. Over more than 40 years in business, Dale's earned many accolades, amongst them being named by Business Insider in their inaugural list of the North West's Top 100 Women of Influence (2015) and recognition from the Prime Minister for her personal contribution to further education and skills (2006). She has also held a number of Chair and Non-Executive posts in both private and public sector organisations Dale now works purely on recommendation with business clients - owners, directors, leadership and management teams and their people - particularly in SMEs (typical range of turnover £250,000 to £40,000,000) * who have an aspiration to grow * solve particular problem/s that are getting in the way of that aspiration * or where owners are looking to successfully exit the business Dale doesn't blow her own trumpet and says she prefers her clients to do that for her with their own comments and experience of the impact she's had on them personally and their business. In 2012 Dale wrote a book “The Book of Job - the business of people for people in business” which takes a refreshing, wry and thought-provoking look at the founding principles for success. (Available on Amazon) “The Book of Job by Dale Stafford is a business classic & must have for all managers, strategists, marketers & business people who are interested in a people-based approach to success!”KEVIN STEIN, Co-Founder, Source TV, Hollywood “Just read ‘The Book of Job' by Dale Stafford & it's amazing!” RACHEL ELNAUGH, Dragons' Den Dale's also much in demand for speaking engagements and facilitating conferences. God grants the grace of His salvation in equal measure to all whom He calls into His kingdom. God does not play favorites, but, as someone once said about the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ- The ground at the foot of the cross is level. No one who comes to Christ comes on the basis of their own merit, nor does anyone receive any more or any less of God's great gift of eternal life. You either have eternal life through faith in Christ, or you do not.
