Alyssa Campbell is a teacher, parent, and an emotional development expert with a masters degree in early childhood education. She is also the author of the book "Tiny Humans, Big Emotions." In addition to her writing endeavors, Alyssa also runs a business and is a devoted mother to a two and a half-year-old. Her ethos revolves around the importance of building emotional intelligence in children. She believes in recognizing and regulating biases, looking beyond behavior for understanding, and fostering empathy in communication. In this episode, Larry Hagner sits down with Alyssa Campbell. They discuss the challenges of balancing motherhood, running a business, and pursuing personal goals. Alyssa Campbell shares her excitement about expecting a baby girl and jokes about potentially having more children depending on their behavior. Larry relates by sharing his experience of having four boys and the reactions he receives from others. Alyssa Campbell explains that she wrote a book called "Tiny Humans, Big Emotions" because she felt the need for more resources that focused on the adult's role in emotional intelligence. She found that many existing resources only provided strategies for dealing with children's behavior, without addressing the adult's own emotions and reactions. Building emotional intelligence in kids requires parents to model and teach emotional regulation, empathy, and effective communication. It involves creating a safe and supportive environment where children feel comfortable expressing their emotions and learning healthy ways to manage them. Parents can also encourage their children to identify and label their emotions, validate their feelings, and help them develop problem-solving skills. Recognizing and regulating our biases is a crucial aspect of building emotional intelligence in both children and adults. This episode sheds light on the biases that often go unnoticed and how they can impact our interactions with children. www.thedadedge.com/443 www.amazon.com/Tiny-Humans-Big-Emotions-Emotionally www.seedandsew.org

He will show us that the Bible is full of ordinary people who only become extraordinary because God called on them to serve His purpose. The example today is Mary and how she reacted when God sent an angel to tell her what His purpose for her life was. Join us to see what characteristics Mary had that we should emulate, so that God can use our ordinary lives for extraordinary purposes.

Under federal and most state and city anti-discrimination laws, almost ALL employers are required to show compassion and flexibility* to its pregnant employees during their pregnancies, after their babies are born, and even after they return to work and require accommodations for lactation and breast feeding purposes. Any differential or hostile workplace treatment because of pregnancy is illegal sex, gender, and pregnancy discrimination and often disability discrimination, too. Document in writing any requests for flexibility and pregnancy-related accommodations, as well as complaints about discriminatory treatment you're experiencing due to your pregnancy, related medical conditions, and your need for OB/Gyn appointments and testing, and requests for temporary light duty. Step up and fight for your right to be equal! And don't quit your job due to discrimination, as that's like throwing out the baby with the bath water!

Cassandra Bock, a busy mother of two, sat down with Michael Rubino for this episode of Mold Talks. A Minnesota native, Cassandra just recently welcomed her second child and knows from experience how jam-packed a day in the life of a mother can be (with or without mold exposure). Her personal mold journey began around 2018 during her first pregnancy. What used to be an on-the-go lifestyle eventually turned into long days battling mold exposure symptoms. Today's Talk During our talk, we discussed Cassandra's extensive battle with mold exposure and the varying symptoms it caused. She experienced firsthand the difficulty of finding a diagnosis, jumping from doctor to doctor, and treatments that just never seemed to truly work. Choosing to focus on the bright side, Cassandra says that at least now she will know what to look for when it comes to mold presence and considering environmental factors as contributors to persistent symptoms. We also touch on her unique story in discovering the mold in her home and how a renovation project ended up changing her life. Who knew a home makeover could have such a big impact!
