Sermon: Fine China - October 19, 2025 Passage: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 Sermon Series: Faithful to the End Speaker: Sam Cassese Some things are meant to be handled with care. Fine china isn't used every day — it's set apart, treasured, and treated differently because of its value. In this week's message, Paul calls the Thessalonians — and us — to live the same way. In a culture that treats sex casually and reverence for God as optional, we're reminded that our lives aren't disposable or common. They're meant to reflect something sacred — lives that are pure, intentional, and set apart to please God.

Does your life reflect that you are a vessel of honor?
Author and speaker Lydia Brownback answers the following questions from her book about singleness: Why is it important to get beyond the constant speculation of “why” we are still single? How can we be encouraged when our social stability changes as friends get married and move into different seasons of life? What would you tell the woman who is doing everything right to try and get married and despite her best efforts, she is still single? How can a better grasp of God's sovereignty help the woman who is fearful she will miss an opportunity for meeting her future husband, or thinks she may have already passed him up? What would you tell the woman who is forcing herself to be attracted to someone, or simply grasping at an available man for fear that he may be her last chance at marriage? Sometimes single women can refrain from particular activities, purchases, or pursuits because they are afraid that going ahead with them will entrench them in a life of singleness, or they are waiting for the “bridal shower.” What are concrete steps a woman can take to break out of that mindset?Website: smilingatthefuturepodcast.comEmail: smilingatthefuturepodcast@gmail.com Support The Podcast: https://donorbox.org/smiling-at-2024Lydia's Books: "Fine China Is For Single Women Too" https://a.co/d/6UfonPa"Finding God In My Loneliness" https://a.co/d/fVmsGdA

But Nate's pot isn't too bad and could be useful for self-defense if nothing else. Join us for a survey of crafting history from pottery to baskets to linens and more! Welcome to the Marriage Talk Podcast - Ep 184 - Is Your Wife A "Weaker Vessel" or Fine China? 1 Peter 3:7 reads, “Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker vessel and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.” Th is is perhaps one of the most controversial passages of Scripture when it comes to marriage, because no woman wants to be considered as a “weaker vessel.” However, if we dig deeper into the meaning of the phrase “weaker vessel,” it is actually a term the ancients used for fine china. It was called weaker vessel because it was not as clunky as everyday dishes. So let's read that again: “Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as fine china....” Now there is a great example of how to treat our wives. And the result? Our prayers will not be hindered! ------------ WATCH the Marriage Talk Podcast on our YouTube Channel CLICK HERE for more information on the ministry and marriage events hosted by Jay and Laura Laffoon CLICK HERE for more information on Bill Hobson and the Hobson Media Podcast Network Have a question, comment, suggestion for Marriage Talk? Prophecy Radio episode #114 takes an in-depth look at Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1, episode 3, “We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium.” Furies and Gorgons and gods, oh my! We also go through some of the articles that came out of Percy Jackson press week, and read a few pieces of listener feedback that you sent in. New episodes of Prophecy Radio air weekly, and we keep our discussions PG-13. News and Updates (00:01:26) Don't forget to pre-order the Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief Deluxe Collector's Edition if you haven't already! Surprise, Percy Jackson and the Olympians now airs on Tuesdays at 9pm ET on Disney+. Take a closer look at the Percy Jackson and the Olympians end credits and his monster notebook! One of the hosts of Camp Half-Pod wrote an article about how Percy and Sally's relationship is the beating heart of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The Empire State Building lit up blue on December 20. There will be a Percy Jackson and the Olympians behind-the-scenes documentary. Teen Vogue profiled Walker Scobell and Leah Sava Jeffries. Watch as Rick Riordan reacts to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Capture the Flag scene. Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1, episode 3, “We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium” (00:09:07) What were our overall thoughts on this episode? We loved seeing the attic and tried to spot as many items here as possible. The Oracle is SO CREEPY and we know Percy would agree. Why did we get so excited about the green smoke? Chiron can't fault Percy's logic for picking Annabeth. Poor Grover has to shovel poop as his punishment for defying Dionysus. Did Percy choose Grover to go on the quest to keep his enemy closer? Was that really Blackjack? We get an explanation of drachmas, and we're dying for some of our own. The wings coming out of the shoe's laces was amazing to watch. Why didn't Percy choose Luke for his quest? Annabeth says goodbye to Thalia's tree and Percy is NOT having it. The tension between Percabeth is going to make their friendship even more rewarding down the line. Did you realize which monster that woman in the convenience store was? Even Mrs. Dodds knows Annabeth is a badass! We got some major Percy Jackson musical vibes from that scene in the woods. Uncle Ferdinand's backstory is going to be relevant VERY soon. Why didn't they mention how demigods shouldn't have phones? We're really loving how much more we're getting from Annabeth in this episode. Percy is NOT happy that Grover was Annabeth's protector first. Saved by the burger! Medusa is giving off good vibes, to be honest. Though her house is giving Hansel and Gretel. We get Medusa's story from the Gorgon herself, and Annabeth doesn't like what she has to say about Athena. Medusa feels protective of Percy and offers him a choice, but he dips before he gets stuck between a rock and a hard place. WHY WOULD YOU RUN INTO THE BASEMENT? Did anyone else forget Medusa had snakes for hair? Annabeth's impromptu plan is pretty amazing. Why doesn't Uncle Ferdinand's statue look afraid like the others? Grover calls out both of his friends for their recent antics and attitude. This is definitely the start of some kind of friendship between Percy and Annabeth. What do you mean, Percy IS impertinent. We're obsessed with the consensus song. We totally were not expecting to see Hermes at the end of the episode! That song playing during the end credits is absolutely perfect. Feedback (01:39:12) Toni thinks we should get a renewal for 14 more seasons, and we totally agree. Sword of Avalon writes in with an awesome idea for a vlog series called The Demigod Diaries. Thanks for listening, and tune in next time for episode 115, in which we'll discuss Percy Jackson and the Olympians episode 4 in detail! This episode's hosts are: Karen Rought and Kristen Kranz.
