Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Gerard Gibert, entrepreneur, technologist, talk show host and founder and former CEO of Venture Technologies. The discussion focuses on key issues impacting America with an emphasis on the how the nation's rising health care costs are adversely affecting families, citizen-taxpayers, and private enterprises across the nation. In 1986, Mr. Gibert founded Venture Technologies, a technology and cloud services provider. As CEO of Venture, Mr. Gibert engineered numerous mergers and acquisitions of strategic targets, catapulting Venture to national prominence as a technology solutions provider. Initially funded at $189,000, Venture was sold for $92 million in 2019. Mr. Gibert serves on a variety of boards dedicated to growing Mississippi's economy. That list includes the Madison County Economic Development Authority, Madison County Business League and Foundation, Innovate Mississippi, Empower Mississippi, and the Mississippi Lottery Corporation. Gerard Gibert recently presented a compelling op-ed piece via SuperTalk.FM titled "We need out-of-the-box thinking to address Mississippi's healthcare woes." In a recent piece shared by Shakeel Ahmed, CEO at Atlas Surgical Group via Forbes in November 2023, the medical professional highlighted the following key statistics: In 2021, the nation's healthcare expenditure reached a staggering $4.3 trillion, accounting for 18.3% of the GDP, according to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data. In 2021, Americans spent an estimated $378 billion just on prescription drugs, as reported by Statista. This represents a substantial portion of overall healthcare spending, and the continuous increase in drug prices compounds the problem. The Kaiser Family Foundation found that the annual family premium for employer-sponsored health insurance plans surpassed $21,000 in 2020. americasrt.com (https://americasrt.com/) https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 Twitter: @grgibert @ileaderssummit @AmericasRT @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. America's healthcare system is different from other advanced industrialized countries. It does not provide health care to the country's entire population. Instead, most citizens are covered by a combination of private insurance and various federal and state programs.America's system is a very impractical way to administer healthcare. First off, the closest thing this country has to government-subsidized healthcare is Medicare. A program that only serves senior citizens. Most of America's healthcare system is privatized, meaning almost every involved entity is for-profit. There are issues with co-pays and deductibles where insurance doesn't cover 100 percent of your bill, leaving you to figure out how to cover the remaining balance. A good example of this is how many elderly people have Medicare but are still working for secondary insurance or to pay off medical debt.In this video, we'll talk about how healthcare in America is unsustainable. And how even with two jobs and two health insurances, you could still find yourself with a stack of unpaid medical bills.Healthcare in America Means Getting Less Bang for Your Buck________________________________________If you liked the video, subscribe to my channel!https://www.youtube.com/c/DerrickKirk?sub_confirmation=1 You can also follow me on:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/WHEREISDKIRK/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/dkirkforus/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mythoughts_with_derrickSNAPCHAT: https://bit.ly/3LvANda Visit my website: http://derrickkirk.com/ Show Your Support: https://bit.ly/3S2mr6m Support the show

Dr. Renee Dua is a visionary physician-entrepreneur who is the co-founder of two innovative companies; Heal and heyRenee. Renee is a board-certified nephrologist and served as the Chief of Medicine at two of LAs largest hospitals. As she spent more time as a doctor, she became more and more frustrated with the outdated health care system here in the US, and after one difficult trip to the ER with her son her frustration turned into an idea and she partnered with her husband to create ‘Heal', a company that provides on-demand house calls from doctors where board-certified doctors visit patients in their homes to provide the same services you'd find in a normal doctor's office. As Chief Medical Officer of Heal, she oversaw the successful delivery of over 300,000 doctor house calls. She went from literally going home-to-home delivering house calls to patients in need to building a team of 200+ medical teams who saw over 2,000 patients per week across the United States. Heal also recently raised their Series D round, with an investment of $100 MM from Humana to further expand their mission. She created HeyRenee in June 2021 and quickly raised $3.8MM in seed funding to be the indispensable “best friend” that helps underserved, chronic disease patients, follow their doctor's care plan towards living happier, healthier lives.Renee won the CES Innovation Award and was instrumental in working with CMS to expand house calls to all seniors and in driving strategy for Heal's clinical and patient-facing products. Driven by the belief that great healthcare is a human right, Renee has always gone beyond the call of duty to give the greatest care to the neediest patients. Finally, she is the mother of three young children, who are her pride and joy. In her rare free time, she cooks and takes long drives in her EV with her best friend and husband, Nick Desai. In this episode, we talk about the early days that set her up to start two companies as a co-founder, we talk about how both her companies are instilling accessibility, transparency, and redefining the doctor-patient relationship to fix the broken healthcare system in the US, and lastly, the challenges she had to overcome in building Heal and also the lessons she is has learned the way. Check out heal in the app store and on https://heal.com/Follow us on Instagram -> https://www.instagram.com/startyourselfuppodcast/Follow my Twitter -> https://twitter.com/StarturselfupodWant to sponsor us?
