Mit Ausnahme von Frankreich. Warum? Weil dort die Geschlechterrollen egalitärer sind. Denn auch die jungen Frauen wollen sich nicht hauptsächlich um Heim, Kind und Herd kümmern. Das ist aber genau das, was sie erwartet, sobald sie in einer Partnerschaft ein Kind bekommen. Norbert Neuwirth zeigt, mit welchen sozialwissenschaftlichen Methoden die moderne Demographieforschung solche Erkenntnisse gewinnt und spricht auch darüber, was Menschen mehr Lust auf Familie machen könnte. Denn ganz freiwillig ist der kinderlose Lebensentwurf nicht immer. Unser Gast in dieser Folge: Norbert Neuwirth ist Sozialwissenschaftler am Institut für Familienforschung an der Universität Wien, Ökonom und leitet das Generations- und Gender-Programm (GGP), das von der Wirtschaftskommission der Vereinten Nationen für Europa (UNECE) durchgeführt wird. Neuwirth betreut unter anderem die Datenerhebung in Österreich. Dafür kooperiert er mit dem Vienna Institute of Demography (VID) an der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften.
