Healthcare in America Means Getting Less Bang for Your Buck

America's healthcare system is different from other advanced industrialized countries. It does not provide health care to the country's entire population. Instead, most citizens are covered by a combination of private insurance and various federal and state programs.America's system is a very impractical way to administer healthcare. First off, the closest thing this country has to government-subsidized healthcare is Medicare. A program that only serves senior citizens. Most of America's healthcare system is privatized, meaning almost every involved entity is for-profit. There are issues with co-pays and deductibles where insurance doesn't cover 100 percent of your bill, leaving you to figure out how to cover the remaining balance. A good example of this is how many elderly people have Medicare but are still working for secondary insurance or to pay off medical debt.In this video, we'll talk about how healthcare in America is unsustainable. And how even with two jobs and two health insurances, you could still find yourself with a stack of unpaid medical bills.Healthcare in America Means Getting Less Bang for Your Buck________________________________________If you liked the video, subscribe to my channel!https://www.youtube.com/c/DerrickKirk?sub_confirmation=1 You can also follow me on:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/WHEREISDKIRK/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/dkirkforus/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mythoughts_with_derrickSNAPCHAT: https://bit.ly/3LvANda Visit my website: http://derrickkirk.com/ Show Your Support: https://bit.ly/3S2mr6m Support the show

The First Amendment encourages U.S. citizens to actively participate in government. But there's a problematic subset of citizens called lobbyists who use the money to buy their way into our government and push their agendas. Lobbyists contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars, or more, to the election funds of their preferred political candidates. They hold massive fundraisers that line the pockets of their chosen politicians. In exchange for the funds, politicians serve the special interests of lobbyists. Why is this a problem and just how powerful is lobbying in American politics? The effectiveness of policing and police reform has reemerged as a prominent topic of debate in the United States following the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Elijah McClain. This has reignited America's need to apply community policing, wherein the police will live in the community they serve. This will create law enforcement systems with the help of the citizens, with familiarity with their needs and life practices. Due to the current killings mainly of black people, issues of mistrust and insecurity in the police had reemerged. While it worked out for some, the cons are just as much as the pros. Surprisingly, community policing did not work out well in the south nor did it create trust between the citizens and the police. Mainly because it has been a sudden shift and appeared as if it was a superficial approach to the occurring problem. In this video, we will discuss the ongoing debate about community policing. And will the US ever make this work, will community policing end police brutality or will it favor certain community members? We're still learning to be better people. One of the things we had to face is the fact that we must defeat systemic racism—racism embedded as normal practice in institutions like education and law enforcement, to see real change. We've got to continually work toward equality for all ethnic groups while striving to undo racism in our minds, our personal environments, and the wider world. When we can see things from the perspective of the oppressed—maybe then we'll understand why it's not enough to just be “non-racist” in this country. In this video, we'll talk about how non-racist white people have it rough living in America, and why that discomfort may not disappear anytime soon.Non-Racist White People MUST be so Uncomfortable in America________________________________________If you liked the video, subscribe to my channel!https://www.youtube.com/c/DerrickKirk?sub_confirmation=1 You can also follow me on:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/WHEREISDKIRK/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/dkirkforus/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mythoughts_with_derrickSNAPCHAT: https://bit.ly/3LvANda Visit my website: http://derrickkirk.com/ Show Your Support: https://bit.ly/3S2mr6m Support the show

Current trends and US standards mislead overweight and obese youth into believing that their body is normal even when it is not. Americans had been enjoying large portions, especially their meat consumption. While all these add to the factors of obesity problems, the rise of technology and social media walk their way through. The Supreme Court's historic decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and jeopardize abortion rights was shocking for most women. The ruling will likely impact single parents most when you factor in housing, food, and transportation costs. Women forced to become parents may not all qualify for government assistance with these and other necessities. In this video, I'll talk about how this ruling may affect the future of America in terms of women's empowerment and what it means for us in the long run.________________________________________If you liked the video, subscribe to my channel!https://www.youtube.com/c/DerrickKirk?sub_confirmation=1 You can also follow me on:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/WHEREISDKIRK/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/dkirkforus/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mythoughts_with_derrickSNAPCHAT: https://bit.ly/3LvANda Visit my website: http://derrickkirk.com/ Show Your Support: https://bit.ly/3S2mr6m Support the show

The Auto Industry's Capitalism: Why America Has No Bullet Trains

High-speed trains were rendered obsolete in 1958– and there comes the Interstate Highway System. Instead of investing in bullet trains, America promotes auto-dependent development that essentially outsources a major cost to fuel. As America's population kept on growing so does the infrastructures needed to house all the vehicles produced by the auto industry. As the auto industry's capitalism grew the possibility of investing in bullet trains kept on receding. And now as America struggles with oil dependency and environmental problems, plus the fact that they have traffic problems (causing them to be dependent on airways). It's now a heated discussion as to why America does not have bullet trains and if it will ever have one in the future. Due to this America's misconception of High-speed railways had been a heated discussion. In this video, we will discuss how the auto industry's capitalism could be the reason why America will never be able to invest in High-speed railways. To start a business and bring it to successful fruition takes a sound mix of confidence, risk tolerance, self-discipline, determination, and competitiveness. Bootstrappers take an idea—and using talent and professionalism—build a worthwhile business without the backing from investors and having little or no starting capital.
