Pastor Scott explores the significance of personal presence in our tech-driven world. This chapel message highlights how Jesus' example of love and service calls us to engage deeply with those around us. Learn to balance technology with authentic relationships, embrace face-to-face interactions, and fulfill the command to love one another as Christ loved us.
That’s what Jeannie found herself praying just after she woke a couple weeks ago. She sensed a distance. Sometimes we know that God is right here, right now. And sometimes we feel like he’s far away. Is it a matter of trusting what we know or is it a prompt to turn from sin in our lives? Jeannie Cunnion, author of Closer to God: a 40 Day Pursuit of God’s Personal Presence says it could be both! Jeannie shares, “I spent my whole life till I was 25 performing for Jesus!” It’s a conversation about the massive difference between religion and the gospel. One of the benefits of the closeness of God is His empowering presence. Shawna shares a time she was battling what she should do vs. what she wanted to do and asked the Holy Spirit to help her. And He did! As a teenager Perry’s dad was in the confession booth and noticed a cross with lipstick on it. In that moment he thought of the passage, “My people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” It’s a conversation about how repentance is meant to be life-giving, not something we do to get God to love us. Also in this podcast: When you’re in the presence of God you will know His purpose for your life. In The Message’s version of John 15:17 Jesus invites us into an intimate and organic relationship with Him. As we learn to do life with God, He will lead us into our God-given purpose day by day. Last, one evening when Perry was 18, he was playing hoops. He went up for a rebound and came down on somebody’s foot. That excruciatingly painful ankle sprain turned the trajectory of Perry’s life toward Jesus.Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/morningshow/wgnbSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

NOTES: “Who is the Holy Spirit?” But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don't, the Advocate won't come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgment. The world's sin is that it refuses to believe in me. Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged. “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can't bear it now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me. How did you feel before, during, and after the interaction? Did you notice any shifts in your energy or emotions, and how do you think it influenced the overall dynamics of the conversation? Take a moment to observe your body language and posture. How do you typically carry yourself in different situations? Does your physical presence exude confidence and openness, or do you tend to shrink or close off? Consider your daily routines and habits. Are there activities or practices that uplift and rejuvenate your energy levels? On the other hand, are there habits that consistently drain your energy or leave you feeling depleted? Reflect on times when you have been in a positive and uplifted state of mind. What thoughts, beliefs, or experiences contributed to that elevated energy? Our broken world is desperate for the Presence of God. But the modern church has become distracted by a self-help mentality, celebrity figureheads, and entertainment culture. We have failed to be the supernatural solution for which we were created. In The Way of His Glory, burned-out Christians will find practical empowerment to lead their fellow believers in the authentic pursuit of God's Presence as their priority. Pastor Mark Casto was on the fast track to building the modern “successful” church when God brought it all to an end. He revealed that Mark was prioritizing his ministry above God's Personal Presence. Mark Casto is the lead pastor of The Shepherd's Tent. He is the host of The Family Table Podcast featured on the Destiny Image Podcast Network. But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short while—in person, not in spirit—were all the more eager with great desire to see your face. For we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, more than once—and yet Satan hindered us. For who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? Is it not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming? For you are our glory and joy. 1 Thessalonians 2:17-20

What is the Bible? There is no other book in the history of our world that has had such an impact on civilization. Some believe that the Bible is just another book from antiquity. But for Christians, the Bible is nothing less than the written Word of God. Christians believe in God, and, as Francis Schaeffer put it, we believe that "He is there and He is not silent." He has given us his Word: His self-revelation in the narrative and words of God-breathed scripture. There is no other book quite like it.In this class, Bible 101, Pastor Rusten Harris will spend three sessions covering foundational teaching about how the Bible is God's authoritative Word, his story of redemption, and the means by which he sustains his people.

The foundation for trust and influence is created in seconds. How you show up – look, act, walk, talk – matters. Job seekers who show up with confidence and people skills often win over someone more technically skilled. Leaders advance – or not – based on their personal brand and their presence. Potential clients determine the expertise of a business by the first impression of the individual business representative – in person or online. In this episode of the Career Confidante, host Marie Zimenoff and presence expert Valerie Sokolosky share the good news – presence is learned and earned. It has nothing to do with being born with elusive charisma. Presence is a matter of your whole being – how you look, how you act and how you communicate – AUTHENTICALLY. Valerie and Marie share practical tips to help you be comfortable in your own skin and increase your ability to influence others. If you want to level-up your personal presence, listen in!

Jesus knew that He was leaving to go back to his father through the path of the cross. He was not gonna leave His Disciples Alone as orphans, comfort list, that's, forlorn, bereaved, or helpless. So Jesus Asked the Father to give them Another Comforter. (John 14:16) this implies, of course, that He Himself Was the PRIOR Comforter. The Father Sends the Holy Spirit to you.The word "Another" Implies not only the advocacy of the Son of God, Jesus Himself, but Also the Third Person in the Trinity the Holy Spirit. One of the names of the Messiah, with the Jews is "a Comforter"; so Another Comforter is One with Him, the Spirit of God Who moved upon the face of the waters in Genesis 1:2, when God Said, Let There Be Light; and There Was Light. Genesis 1:3. The Spirit of God and the Word of God from the time of creation are ONE.The Comforter Whom the Father sent at the request of the Word of God, His Son; was the Spirit of God, to continuously perform Jesus Working Office, by taking of the things of Christ and showing them to you his children; by shedding abroad the Love of the Father and the Love of the Son, into Your Hearts; by Opening and Applying the Precious Promises of the Gospel Given to You. He Being the Spirit of Adoption in You and Abiding with You Forever as the Seal of God stamping you in Christ Jesus for ever, as a child of God.Jesus had been to them a Counselor, a Guide, a Friend, a Helper, an Intercessor, a Healer, and Advocate while he was with them.Another Comforter was given to them to perform the offices toward them which Jesus would have done if he had remained personally with them. And some of those offices of the Holy Spirit is to furnish to all Believers the Instruction and Consolation which would be given by the Personal Presence of Jesus, by bringing Him Glory by Telling You Whatever He Receives from Him. (John 16:14)The Holy Spirit Divinely Persuades you and Inspires You with the Knowledge of TRUTH. He teaches you ALL Things and reminds you of everything the Word of God says to you. (John 14:26, John 15:26)The Holy Spirit leads you to a deeper knowledge of gospel truth, and gives you the divine strength needed to enable you to to do greater than you can even think hope ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)Podcast NotesWho is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is a person, not just a power or force. The overwhelming original Greek terminology signifies that He is a Person. In John 14:16-18 Jesus says:“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter–Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby, that He may remain with you forever– The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive, nor welcome, nor take to its heart, because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you constantly and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come back to you.”Who is the Holy Spirit? When God created mankind, He said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” (Gen. 1:26). The plural pronouns in this passage refer to the three persons of the Trinity—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All three were involved in the creation; and as human beings, we bear the image of the Trinity. Why did the Father send the Holy Spirit? Before His ascension, Jesus gave His disciples the assignment of proclaiming repentance for the forgiveness of sins in His name to all nations, beginning with Jerusalem. He told them He'd send His Father's promise upon them, but they were to stay in the city until they were clothed with power from on high (Luke 24:47-49).When does the Holy Spirit come?Today, the Spirit comes to indwell and seal believers at the time of salvation (Eph. 1:13-14). The seal implies God's authority and authenticity—we are now His children, and our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Since this seal cannot be broken by anything or anyone, it guarantees our eternal security.Every single believer is sealed with the Holy Spirit. No sin can break the seal. Nobody can break the seal. You have been stamped as God's own Child. And that is what you are! Ephesians 1:13, 1 John 3:1You were sealed by God. (Eph. 1:13). He permanently indwells you (John 14:16-17). Who teaches you (John 14:26) and guides you into all truth (John 16:13)and empowers you. (Acts 1:8).
