This interview is part of Freetrail's coverage of the 2025 Western States 100, the most important trail running event in North America. Our shows and athlete interviews are hosted each day by Dylan Bowman who sits down to talk with some of the favorites who are racing this year.   In this interview, Dylan talks to professional runner, Hannah Allgood (Terrex) for a pre-race interview. Hannah Allgood lives and trains in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hannah is a physical therapist, running coach, and beloved part of Freetrail. Hannah raced her way into Western States with an extremely impressive and hard fought 2nd place at the 2024 Javelina 100 miler. We love you Hannah, good luck this weekend!   Make sure to tune into all of Freetrail's coverage leading into the 2025 Western States. We'll have a live daily show at 3:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of race week before we set our sites on the official broadcast where Dylan will be commentating, and we'll be providing photo and video coverage of the race for the Freetrail social channels. Make sure to follow along here and @runfreetrail on Instagram.   Make sure to play Freetrail's own fantasy trail running at https://fantasy.freetrail.com/events and pick 10-deep for Western States. Fantasy winners this week will receive a head to toe trail kit from HOKA as well as other sweet prizes from Freetrail and brand partners like Ketone IQ and Neversecond.     Our Western States coverage is brought to you by our good friends at HOKA. We're grateful for their generous support and belief in Freetrail.   Make sure to check out the latest and greatest from HOKA, the Mafate X. The Mafate X is all about innovation and pushing past limits. There's plenty of “dog talk at its finest” in this episode with Hoosier tree dog enthusiast Darren Allgood. With three squirrel dog world championships under his belt and an affinity for Plotts and Mountain Curs, Steve takes the opportunity to catch up with his guest as he returns home from Plott Days. The result is some great conversation, tailor-made for brindle dog aficionados. The boys discuss Allgood's background and beginning in an area that has long been famous for producing big-winning coonhounds and curs, many of them from the English Coonhound breed. Several coon hunting icons, of the two and four-legged variety, are discussed at length. This one is for good ole boys that love good hounds and love, even more, to sit and talk about them. For that reason, this one qualifies, without reservation, for the “dog talk at it's finest” designation. When Jesus showed up the timing seemed off. It was a harsh and cruel time. No one was really looking for him. They were wishing, but not looking. They were hoping for someone to get them out of trouble, but not believing it could happen that day. The process had started, but not the release from another regime take over. Joseph was not expecting it. He just wanted to marry Mary, a normal Jewish girl. Mary was not expecting it, but then this Angel named Gabriel shows up unannounced and nearly scares her to death. Then there was Elisabeth pregnant with John the Baptist. She and her husband are too old for this. This whole story is impossible and it's just going to take too long. The parents are not impressive. They are just plain folks.  What's wrong with this picture? It's the kind of picture that God Loves to paint… Unpredictable, a great surprise. Impossible and yet it's happening right before their eyes. Christmas miracles are happening everyday in someway all over the world, but we don't even notice them until much later because they always come “UnExpectantly”, at the wrong time, in the wrong way and God always uses the "wrong people"…by our standards. Fortunately, God performs miracles by His standards. He loves to Love in Impossible ways. He is the Ultimate Mission Impossible Operative. He is our God and He only “gives good gifts”. He plans All Good things and Gifts in Advance for me as he does for you. In student ministry, God gave us Unexpected Christmas gifts all year long. Each home, each child, each friend and each salvation from our children to family members, friends and students. Never when we expected it. Usually in unforeseen moments, in unforseen circumstances.  God Loves His Son's story. His Unexpected, to humankind, predicted but not possible... Christmas Birthday Story. He is the God of Holy Surprises! Keep looking up! You never know when a host of angels are going to start singing like a choir in the sky. _______________________________ Looking for a new student ministry resource? You can read my book “Burn Up Not Out: A Student Ministry Fire Builder's Guidebook” here: https://amzn.to/3PtBTIy Listen to more episodes from the Youth Worker On Fire Podcast here: https://bit.ly/3saDyYq _______________________________ EPISODE CREDITS Email us at: youthworkeronfire@gmail.com Hosted by: Doug Edwards Theme Song: "The One and Only" by The 808 : Listen to more at https://bit.ly/3FTYIAJ Intro/Outro Voiceover: Michael Helms : https://www.youtube.com/@MichaelTheSoundGuy  Edited by: Secret Roots Music House

It's spooky season again, which means Michael is back to encourage you to watch scary movies. He's also got a new memoir out called It's All Good, so why not scoot your gigantic mahogany chair up to your stone fireplace and give it a nice read. Just make sure it's storming outside for maximum spookiness. The memoir isn't necessarily spooky; that advice is just because it's Halloween soon. Learn more about your ad choices. Transforming Customer Support with Technology and Empathy  Shep Hyken interviews Derek Allgood, VP of Global Customer Experience (GCX) at eBay. He discusses the importance of nurturing a supportive culture and harnessing innovative tools like AI to enhance employee and customer service.  This episode of Amazing Business Radio with Shep Hyken answers the following questions and more:    How does enhancing the employee experience contribute to a better customer service experience?  How can businesses balance automated customer service solutions with human interactions?  What strategies can support remote customer service employees in delivering consistent experiences?  How do self-service solutions impact the overall efficiency of customer service operations?  How essential is a strong company purpose in driving customer satisfaction?  Top Takeaways:    Listening is critical to building strong relationships in business and life. When interacting with customers or clients, it is essential to fully comprehend their needs and concerns before taking action. Active listening involves paying attention, asking clarifying questions, and genuinely showing empathy.     High employee turnover leads to increased costs and decreased customer satisfaction. Focus on creating a fulfilling and supportive work environment for your team members. Employees who feel valued and engaged become more committed to their roles and deliver exceptional service.    Today, more people are working remotely, which requires new ways of maintaining communication and culture. Effectively using technology to communicate improves work efficiency and connectivity. Communication technology helps ensure that employees remain connected and well-informed and can support one another in real time.    Self-service technology helps streamline interactions and solve issues quickly. By implementing self-service options, businesses can empower customers to find the answers they need without waiting to speak with a representative. This reduces wait times and allows customer support teams to focus on more complex issues. It also leads to cost savings for businesses and a more satisfying experience for both customers and employees.    A great business also thinks about how it can contribute positively to the world. This involves supporting causes that align with the company's values and making a meaningful impact on communities. By having a purpose beyond making money, businesses can connect with people on a more personal level. This builds trust and loyalty among consumers and employees alike.    Plus, Derek talks about eBay's innovative AI solutions to support employees and customers. Tune in!  Quotes:   "The first thing that we have to do in any relationship is to listen. As a business with a buyer and seller relationship, listen and try to understand where the customers are in their journey, what's gone wrong, and how you can support the employees helping them."    About:    Derek Allgood is the VP of Global Customer Experience (GCX) at eBay. He has over 20 years of experience leading customer support teams for global companies such as Citiphone, Global Consumer Bank, and Barclays.    Shep Hyken is a customer service and experience expert, New York Times bestselling author, award-winning keynote speaker, and host of Amazing Business Radio.
