I first saw and interviewed Dag Juhlin more than 30 years ago when he was singing, writing and playing guitar with the power-pop trio the Slugs. He's had many musical lives since then, including playing in Poi Dog Pondering's expansive Chicago lineup, performing deep-cut covers in Expo'76 and Courtesy Patrol, supporting Len Kasper's songwriting in Sonic45 and singing and writing songs with his latest trio, Sunshine Boys. He's also about to hit the road with Michael Shannon & Jason Narducy and Friends to mark the 40th anniversary of R.E.M.'s Lifes Rich Pageant. He talks about all that here, including the striking popularity of the R.E.M. project, whether it's a tribute band or something else, and how that amazing photo of Juhlin with Michael Stipe came to be. Dag Juhlin hasn't NOT been in a band since 1978. A mainstay since he formed The Slugs with his brother Gregg in 1983, Dag has wandered the Chicago music scene —ronin-style— lending his guitar prowess to bands like Poi Dog Pondering and, most recently, Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy's successful REM tribute tour. In between all the gunning for hire, Dag keeps himself busy with (among other things) solo records, his cover band Expo ‘76, a daily podcast with Steve Dahl, and the project closest to his heart: Sunshine Boys. (29:22) Sarjajumbo Ässät latoi keskiviikkona seitsemän maalia lahtelaisisäntien verkkoon. Kapteeni Roineen mukaan heikkoa esitystä puitiin Pelicans-kopissa rehellisesti ja kovin sanoin: "Kyllä oli karmiva peli. Ei se ollut taas siellä päinkään. Nyt on oikeasti isojen tekojen aika. Pelkät puheet eivät enää auta". (32:25) Ajatukset Pelicansin vaisusta alkuvuodesta. Pelillinen kriisi on seurausta henkisestä takalukosta. Lahtelaisseuran toimitusjohtaja Lauri Pöyhösen ajatukset Liiga-seurojen toisistaan poikkeavista yleisörajoituksista. Scenekunstneren Julian Juhlin er ikke bange for at bruge sig selv og sine personlige erfaringer i sin kunst. Som da han som 30-årig tog på sin ‘Virgin Tour' til 14 forskellige danske byer på 14 dage og udstillede sig selv badet i UV-lys i en lille glasmontre. Projektet tog udgangspunkt i virkeligheden, da Julian Juhlin var jomfru. Han kørte gennem det ganske, danske land i en lang, hvid limousine.Eller hvad med dengang han som 25-årig flyttede hjemmefra. Fra de trygge rammer i mors lejlighed på Frederiksberg til en tilværelse som udeboende på Vesterbro. Her fik han idéen om skikkelsen, der var bundet til sit børneværelse. For altid.
