Vanessa Feltz has spent more than thirty years at the heart of British television. I built Heretics outside it. We began by agreeing that television had become sanitised. Within minutes, she was asking whether I was ashamed of myself. What follows is a collision between two very different ideas of public conversation: one prioritises care and responsibility; the other prioritises bluntness and freedom. You decide which one the future belongs to. Sub to her new show here: https://www.youtube.com/@VanessaFeltzYouTube Following the sudden end of her Channel 5 programme, Vanessa reveals how Paramount pulled the plug, why terrestrial television is losing its audience and what decades in British broadcasting taught her about censorship, controversy and the shrinking space for unscripted opinions. But the agreement doesn't last. A throwaway remark about Loose Women becomes an accusation of misogyny and ageism. Vanessa explains why she deplores my decision to interview Katie Hopkins, questions whether controversial figures deserve a platform and reveals whether she would invite Woody Allen into her home. Then, after Vanessa asks what I have said that made me unacceptable to mainstream television, the interview takes its most dramatic turn. We clash over transgender identity, pronouns, detransition, compelled speech and whether genuine compassion means affirming somebody's identity—or being willing to tell them something they do not want to hear. At one point, Vanessa calls me “nasty”. Shortly afterwards, she announces that she has lost the will to live. But the arguments are only half the story. Vanessa also speaks with startling honesty about growing up with parents who rarely expressed love, being made to feel grateful to any man who chose her and why she has never sustained a successful relationship. She opens up about the cruelty she experienced over her weight, starving and dehydrating herself before televised weigh-ins on Celebrity Fit Club, the gastric band that became embedded in her liver and why she wishes Mounjaro and Wegovy had existed before she underwent gastric bypass surgery. There are also extraordinary stories involving Madonna, Katie Price, Woody Harrelson, Jeff Goldblum, The Big Breakfast and the famous guests who behaved very strangely after climbing into bed with Vanessa. Was Vanessa defending kindness and responsibility—or the instincts that made mainstream television frightened of real conversation? Was I defending honesty and free expression—or simply being provocative for its own sake? Watch until the end and decide for yourself. The way the conversation concludes may surprise you. Subscribe to Heretics for long-form conversations in which insiders, survivors and dissidents reveal the hidden rules of powerful people and institutions—and how those rules affect you. Six months in and the great chats are still coming. To mark the milestone, Josh is revisiting some of the episodes that have meant the most to him and got the most of you talking. In this special, we kick things off with Jason Isaacs, who came in saying he doesn't usually go in depth on things and then absolutely went in depth on things. Then there is Charithra Chandran, whose honesty about race, representation and the industry sparked more comments on social media than almost any other episode. Jennifer Garner tells the story of running screaming down Broadway the night she first saw herself on a cinema screen alongside Maggie Smith and Albert Finney, and why thirty years later she still cannot quite believe she is here. Theo James gets refreshingly honest about toxic masculinity and what it means to be a man right now. And Katie Price opens up about body dysmorphia, the one mirror in her house, and why she says this is finally, genuinely, the happiest she has ever been.
In this exclusive conversation, Katie Price sits down with Andrew Gold to set the record straight on the headlines that have defined her for decades. From her complex relationship with the press and the reality of living with body dysmorphia to the truth behind the kidnapping of her husband in Dubai, Katie holds nothing back. She discusses the heavy toll of fame, her experiences with betrayal, and the unconditional love she has for her son, Harvey. This is Katie Price as you've never seen her before—vulnerable, resilient, and ready to reclaim her narrative. For 30 years Katie Price has been one of the most talked about women in Britain, and rarely the one telling her own story. With a brand new tell-all documentary, she's finally taking back control of the narrative. In this chat with Josh, Katie gets honest about her relationship with Lee Andrews, and why for the first time she says she wants a man rather than needs one. She opens up about the breakdown five years ago that nearly cost her her life, and why she wants to see Gareth Gates 25 years after their breakup. Oh, and she tells Josh what REALLY happened at the Playboy Mansion with Hugh Hefner. Plus she joins the group chat to answer your questions, including her worst ever surgery experience and the one revelation in the new documentary she thinks will shock everyone. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce finally tied the knot this weekend in Madison Square Gardens, with a select guest list of... 1,000 celebs. We look at her journey from Page 3 starlet to the ultimate reality star in light of the new Sky documentary about her life. Sky has confirmed that they will purchase ITV for £1.6bn. Once again, we're catching up on the haps within the Trashy Divorces Cinematic Universe, and maybe adding some new names into the mix as well. Brand new wedding news is the talk of the town for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. New York socialite Libbie Mugrabi, who left her divorce from art collector David Mugrabi with a cool $100 million, is having to offload a mansion that was part of that settlement. Her lawyer will soon own the property at above-market rates. Shakira is off the hook for Spanish tax problems from 2011, at least until the prosecution service appeals. James Fishback is a weirdo running a surprisingly strong campaign for Florida's governor. He may also have just gotten married. And finally, we catch up on Katie Price and the no-longer-missing Alleged Lee Andrews. Want early, ad-free episodes, regular Dumpster Dives, bonus divorces, limited series, Zoom hangouts, and more? Marina and Jemma dive into the growing crisis facing young people in Britain. With more than a million young people now classed as NEETs (not in education, employment or training), they explore why finding work has become so difficult, why endless application processes are leaving candidates exhausted and demoralised, and why many feel the social contract has broken down completely.Featuring clips from across social media and the political landscape, they discuss everything from impossible job requirements and AI-driven recruitment to housing costs, stagnant wages and the growing sense that younger generations are being asked to work harder for less. They also examine what countries like the Netherlands are doing differently, whether politicians are finally waking up to the scale of the problem, and why an entire generation increasingly feels locked out of the future.Plus: a brief detour into the never-ending Katie Price saga, an unexpectedly profound discussion about social media and loneliness, and a pudding that perfectly captures the absurdity of today's jobs market.Get your tickets for The Trawl Live from https://thetrawl.tix.to/ticketsThank you for sharing and please do follow us @MarinaPurkiss @jemmaforte @TheTrawlPodcast Patreonhttps://patreon.com/TheTrawlPodcast Youtubehttps://www.youtube.com/@TheTrawl Twitterhttps://twitter.com/TheTrawlPodcastIf you've even mildly enjoyed The Trawl, you'll love the unfiltered, no-holds-barred extras from Jemma & Marina over on Patreon, including:• Exclusive episodes of The Trawl Goss – where Jemma and Marina spill backstage gossip, dive into their personal lives, and often forget the mic is on• Early access to The Trawl Meets…• Glorious ad-free episodesPlus, there's a bell-free community of over 3,300 legends sparking brilliant chat. And it's your way to support the pod which the ladies pour their hearts, souls (and occasional anxiety) into. While the last few years of Katie Price's life have not been uneventful, the last weeks of her life have been extraordinary even by Katie Price standards. In January, she married a Guy in Dubai (Lee Andrews) after three days in his company. The Guy in Dubai was immediately the subject of intense media scrutiny, and what was revealed was jarring. So jarring, perhaps, that Lee Andrews opted to step away from his life for a bit and faked his own kidnapping to do it. Editor's Note: This episode was recorded on Friday, May 22. On May 27, Lee Andrews contacted Katie Price from Dubai's central prison, where he is being held reportedly on "a private civil matter." And, thanks to HSBC's fraud department, Clemmie got her money back. Sponsors Today's episode is sponsored by Smalls.
