What if divorce didn't have to be as complicated or expensive? Liz Pharo, the founder of Divorce.com, is on a mission to make the divorce process easier and less stressful. In this episode, Liz shares how she transitioned from the tech world to create Divorce.com, a platform designed to help people handle the paperwork, planning, and even mediation in a more streamlined way. Liz and I talk about the different types of divorce, mediated vs. court-based, and why focusing on the kids and minimizing trauma is key. Plus, Liz shares how Divorce.com can save you time and money, the importance of working with coaches and therapists during the process, and why you need to be aware of sketchy divorce service providers. Divorce is never simple, but with the right resources and mindset, it doesn't have to be confusing or exhausting. What you'll hear: Liz's journey from software engineer to Divorce.com founder (2:56) How Divorce.com simplifies the divorce process (7:57) The benefits of mediation and working with professionals (10:30) Why being informed about divorce options is crucial (26:12) Learn more about Liz Pharo: Elizabeth "Liz" Pharo launched Divorce.com in 2022 with the vision of revolutionizing the way people divorce – offering a more compassionate and healthier path with less conflict and financial burden. Amid her own divorce, Liz founded Divorce.com to pave the way for individuals to access online divorce services at a fraction of the cost, as well as eliminate the taboo that still remains around divorce. The company's goal is to have couples planning to divorce first consider “Divorce.com-ing it.” Mediators then guide couples through the Divorce.com process to complete their divorce peacefully with mutual respect for both parties. Beyond her work helping Divorce.com reduce the time, cost, and trauma of the typical divorce process, Liz is dedicated to the growth and development of her own community and serves on the boards of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, Venture for America, and Blight-Free Birmingham. This episode is all about the things in life that can affect our runs. Family drama, wedding plans, a shrinking household, feeling irrelevant as a person. Our bodies recognize stress…but not necessarily where that stress is coming from. And stress plays into our training as runners! I share a few more thoughts about my DNF at Lake Martin 2 weeks ago… this time from a much more coherent perspective. And I've finalized my races for the rest of 2024…Lord willing and if the creek don't rise! Please share, rate, and subscribe to Fun of the Run wherever you listen. Reach out to me with questions or comments at funoftherunpodcast@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @waddellrunninglady. Also mention in this episode deserttopeakcoaching.com, my coach Kylie Aldaz who can also be found on Instagram @desert_to_peak_coaching As always, thanks for listening!
In this week's episode, you get to hear all of the mind numbing details about how I traveled alone from Arizona to Alabama to toe the start line of the Lake Martin 50 in Alexander City, Alabama. Copious amounts of coffee were consumed and I even barricaded myself into my hotel room because I was afraid of being alone in a strange place. Ultimately, I ended up running more miles than I ever have before and came away with memories that will last a lifetime. From “rolling hills” to 9,999,543 water crossings, to mucky mud and a possible electrolyte imbalance… this story has lots of the good stuff. Hope you enjoy! As always, please send feedback to funoftherunpodcast@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @waddellrunninglady. Thank you for listening!
Kay brings in Mark Mccaig & Tim Hurst on this weeks podcast! They go over their day and breakdown how they secured their third win on the Alabama Bass Trail! Luke Dunkin then joins in and looks forward to the upcoming tournament on Smith Lake!
Welcome to this week's episode of Fun of the Run podcast! Join me this week as I share a couple scary, true stories for your entertainment. They're true because they either happened to me… or one of my kids! They actually have zero to do with running, but everything to do with listening to fun stuff on the run. I share a bit about why Lake Martin 50 doesn't seem as terrifying anymore…and how much fun I had volunteering at Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs this past weekend. Enjoy!!
The former Voice of The Alabama Podcast, Robbie Floyd, joins Kay to breakdown this weeks upcoming tournament on Lake Martin!
Lake Martin 50 is 12 (TWELVE!) days away and the jitters and anxiety have reached an all-time high! Do you always get nervous before races? Has it ever felt crippling? Here are a few tips I use to help get me to the start line. Share yours at funoftherunpodcast@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @waddellrunninglady Thanks for listening and happy running!!
On today's episode, I discuss the seemingly unreal progress I've made since barely being able to run for 15 seconds straight back in May 2018 when I first started running. Now I'm less than 3 weeks away from my 4th ultramarathon…and my first EVER 50 mile race! This sport is full of highs and lows and I experienced a pretty crummy low spot during a recent 17 mile training run…listen in as I share how I convinced myself to keep going! I also share life struggles, mention weight loss & disordered eating ( trigger warning!) and how I'm oh, so happy to finally be in taper mode for Lake Martin 50 miler. I hope you enjoy and…as always…thank you for listening!! Reach out at funoftherunpodcast@gmail.com or DM me @waddellrunninglady on Instagram
This episode dives into why it's so important to see yourself as the amazing runner you are… it's your body and you can run for whatever reason you want to. Some will say you're too slow, you run too much, you aren't racing enough… but what do you say to yourself??? Perspective is everything in this sport and yours can make or break your efforts to follow your dreams & chase those goals. I also share updates about my Lake Martin 50 preparation and race plans for the rest of 2024! As always please send any feedback to funoftherunpodcast@gmail.com or DM me @waddellrunninglady on Instagram. Share this podcast with someone who'd love to hear it and don't forget to rate, subscribe and review. Thank you so much for listening!

Have you let God be an active partner in your life? In this episode, Jeff and Howard discuss: Building a partnership or company with friends in a healthy way. Professional challenges Howard faced in building and growing GK9PG. Confidently and openly keeping God in your business. Giving in areas that are meaningful to you. Key Takeaways: You have to differentiate between the investment in the business and the work of the business when building your business. Sometimes what looks to be the worst situation, is opening the doors for a bigger and better opportunity. Give in ways that make sense to you and to causes that you feel for. If it is important to you, it is important to God and His Kingdom. Look for mentors for yourself, and be willing to mentor those who are coming along after you. "The best experience, and the least expensive experience, you can get is from somebody who's been through something similar. Having somebody that can help you walk through it, and go through that analysis, looking at the pros and cons, it's invaluable." — Howard Porter About Howard Porter: Howard J. James Morgan was fresh out of Lake City Community College (now Florida Gateway College) and a summer/part-time stint at the Country Club of Orlando when he followed CCO superintendent Kasey Kauff to build Trinity Forest in Dallas. Morgan started as an assistant and was promoted to superintendent during his 5+ year stay at the Coore/Crenshaw layout. That Coore/Crenshaw connection led him to being selected to grow in Wicker Point Golf Club on Lake Martin, the first new golf construction in Alabama since 2004. Wicker Point opened for play last week, culminating Morgan's efforts since he arrived there in March, 2021. In this conversation with Peter McCormick, James relates how his experiences and connections (including Green Start Academy) led him to this point in his career and as a TurfNet Rising Star of Turf.

We got to experience the best in AU's culinary arts program and landed an interview with a big fish in the Auburn real estate market (and on TikTok), Amy Barton Cotney! Amy gave us a download on what's happening in the towns of Auburn, Lake Martin and Opelika and it was a hoot. We took in the sights and tastes and bushels of love this town had to offer--and Denise even did it on horseback! We're dropping THREE "Ask a Local" segments for Auburn on YouTube in the coming days, so make sure you subscribe to us for content you can only see there. Find out why we fell in love with the people and the town of Auburn and, as always, please be sure to follow us on the social platform of your choice here. #emptynest #fulltank

Clayton started with Legion FC in the summer of 2018 as a Communications and Marketing intern and took on a full time role that fall as Communications Coordinator heading in to the club's inaugural season. Before joining the team, he worked and lived in Prague, Czech Republic and spent time in the UAB Sports Information office. He received a master's degree in Communications from UAB, after completing his undergraduate degree in History at Birmingham-Southern College. Clayton was born and raised in Opelika, AL, loves Auburn University athletics, and is a huge Everton fan. When he's not at work, he's either watching the NBA or English Premier League, playing soccer or basketball, or hanging out at the Coosa River or Lake Martin with his wife, Kinsey, their daughter, Mary Spencer, and their two dogs, Archie and Riley.
On this episode we head up to Georgia for the inaugural year of the Canebreak 200 by Jason Green's Yeti Trail Runners! On the chat, we've got two Floridians who got it done...Rex Stinnett and Robyn Abrasley. They absolutely crushed it out there! Rex got it done with a time of 83:05:32 and Robin got it done with a time of 81:14:32! While this was Rex's first 200 miler, he's done races like the Dark Anchor, the Wildcat Ultras, Bear Bait, and Lake Martin! Likewise for Robyn, this was also her first time for the 200 mile distance! She's done races like the Wildcat Ultras, Bear Bait, the Yeti 100, and the Destin Beach Ultra! The Canebreak 200 runs past the ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company textile mill, through movie locations like The Hunger Games, and wilderness just outside of Atlanta at Sweetwater Creek State Park. The course consists of a 5 mile loop followed by a 10 mile outer loop!
