When Dario Garcia started to design his own sounds, his first obsession was to being able to use frequencies to induce altered states of consciousness to those who listen. Psychoacoustics, low and high frequencies, experimental equalizations and heavy post-processes are some of the resources he has been always working around in his different projects to cause different somatizations to the listener. Notzing is the project to develop this idea in form of useful mental tools, created to being used in long mixes, powerful quadraphonic sound systems and a bunch of listeners. When these conditions are met, the project background makes sense. The Notzing project compositions usually are monotones complex loops, with a repetitive rhythm oscillating. The purpose is to make easier the trance induction and to give more freedom to the creative process and sound design on live performances to overlap layers of sounds, textures and to develop a unique sound. It’s a way to empower the complexity of the rest of the sounds and the space where these are placed in the mix. Some of his works under this artistic project has been released on record labels like Circular Limited, Awry, Edit Select Records, Subosc, Koryu Budo or the Knotzept institution which is considered as his home. This live performance act is a studio improvisation created for the Trauma Collective as appreciation for their work. A narcotic and sedative trip to lose the mind during half an hour, full of textures, and organic liquid sounds from another dimension. The setup used consist on: - Behringer Deepmind 12 - Behringer Neutron - Behringer BCR2000 (FX Controller) - Moog Mother32 - Moog DFAM - Doepfer A-100 System - Modular (Mutable Instruments, Make Noise, Intellijel, Xaoc Devices, O_c, Expert Sleepers) - Elektron Octatrack - Elektron Digitakt - Waldorf Blofeld - Faderfox PC12 (Elektron devices MIDI controller) - Beatstep PRO - Ableton Push2 @notzing www.knotzept.com

Jamming in Ableton to produce new music as Wavelux. Dealing with canceled tours and making the most of being given "a break from the road". High pressure lifestyle of the DJ and getting "a year off of Raves". Starting out as a young promoter as 17 and moving quickly to touring as a DJ. First big break with "mentors" willing to take him under their wing in the studio and the clubs. From small hits on Hope Recordings with help from Nick Warren from Way Out West to getting noticed by Anjuna Deep from self released tracks put out on vinyl. Being invited to Goa, India to play the first ever Sunburn festival at Anjuna Beach. Being invited to the UK by the team at Anjuna Records. From home studio to "legit": Above & Beyond's studio. Piano from 6 to 16 years old with the same teacher. Computer nerd from a young age. Being completely "oral" with perfect pitch. Learning by ear. No formal training in music production but an early adopter of computers & music. Started with Acid Pro then moved to Logic & Ableton. Falling out of love with finishing tracks in Ableton and now using Studio One for a more transparent sound. Live PA tour with tons of gear and realizing that it went over most people's heads and made his set too uncompromising vs DJ'ing with a USB stick that made it easier to play to the crowd. Re-designing his sets for live performance with fail safe backup systems. Pre-lease Jaytech track: The Axis. Influenced by Nile Rogers "Every track that needs to have a deep hidden meeting just for you and an outer meaning for everybody else". Being a Progressive Trance Producer & existing squarely between those two worlds: Progressive & Trance. Making that Big arena feel. Figuring the track out as you go along vs. mapping it all out first. Notes that linger and float into the atmosphere with 10 second decay times. Using Slate digital Reverb suites and Native Instruments Raum. Layered sub basses at different frequencies with different roll offs to make sure they don't cancel each other out. A dedicated sub bass, a main bass at 80-100 HZ, and a support bass at 200 HZ and up. Using a duck buss that runs to an LFO tool for everything that's ducking (side chaining effect) so long as the kick is playing and switching it off when there's no kick. Steering clear of sidechain compression in favor of the LFO tool. Sound bites made from vocal samples giving people who can't live without vocals something to latch on to. Sidechaining the reverb tails to the original vocal sample to create room when using long reverb tails. When and where to use loops. Finishing a new Jaytech album. Not the same Jaytech coming out the other side of 2020. Not being just a DJ and using that to adjust to the changes during 2020. Mentoring with Jaytech as a "judgement free zone". Creating a blueprint to work from. Creating his own corner of the music world weather with other labels or on his own. Collaborating with Steve Smith.
In Episode 6, Ami Dang chats with Korea Town Acid, a Korean born, Toronto-based DJ/Producer/Live PA performer. She is a classically trained pianist evolved to free-form beat manipulator and creates swinging dance rhythms and moody bangers that meld disassembled minimalism, free jazz and the more avant-garde corners of techno. Check out her work at https://soundcloud.com/koreatownacid and on IG @koreatownacid.

In this delightful conversation, I chat with I have a very special guest, a well-known name in the music industry and an overall gem of a woman - Tania Doko, or perhaps more known as The Bachelor Girl.We talked about her journey and success in the music industry, the power and impact of music, the importance of presence and connection, the importance of support and collaboration as well as touching on the motherhood juggle. As one half of ARIA award-winning, Bachelor Girl, Tania has enjoyed much success with James Roche. I'm very excited to present the 20th podcast in the GTA Digital Podcast Series, an hour of techno, performed live by myself, Gary The Apprentice. This is a massive achievement for me, having finally created and performed my very first live set just last month. This set contains only my own music, broken apart and "reconstructed" live using Ableton, a Novation Launchpad and Launchcontrol XL. This is a studio recording, with a couple of additional tracks added in which I did not include when performing this last month. This also marks the launch of my own show on Fnoob Techno Radio "GTA Digital Presents". It's been an awesome year for me music wise, landing a residency for an awesome techno event based in Fife, Scotland called "The Lick", which has been absolutely banging, building and performing my very first live set and getting my own show on Fnoob. Thanks to everyone who has supported my music! Anyway, I hope you enjoy listening, most of the tracks you will hear are unreleased, however there are tracks for my past two releases included, which you can find over on Bandcamp. Feel free to share this with as many people as you like, the more the better, as I would absolutely love to get out to other events to perform this. Thanks y'all, and remember to head over to my website to check out more banging techno! https://gtadigital.co.uk

Kenneth Scott's live PA at the last Gravity event powered by Sol Asylum and Belisa was simply astounding. We hope you enjoy his unique and elaborate sonic immersion as much as we did. If you do not know this artist already, please check his latest releases on Vakant, Another, Legwork, and his own Bad Animal imprint. Kenneth spent his formative years surrounded by hippies in a small town in rural Iowa, and somewhere amongst their penchant for Transcendental Meditation, they introduced a young Mr. Scott to rave music. Soon after, between dabbling in Hip-Hop production, tinkering with cheap hardware, and full immersion in mid-90s House, Drum N Bass and IDM, Scott found himself on a one-way train to the distant shores of San Francisco, where his bastardized melange of electronic dance music was welcomed with wide-open arms. After several years building notoriety as a promoter, collaborative performer, and consummate after-party DJ extraordinaire, Scott shifted his attention more seriously to solo production, which is garnering him increasing accolades in his current home of Berlin. Kenneth Scott is a busy man still on a one-way train, with no brakes.

End Train is a London based Dj and LIVE act, producing more than one track per day. Whether he is playing with 4 decks and his sampler or his 2 hour live set with synths and a coffee machine, his music stretches the boundaries of techno with deep and fat bass, melancholic sounds and energetic drums. End Train has been heavily involved in the free parties scene for years where he started by playing 250+ bpm distorted hardcore industrial. With time, an almost innate passion for techno built up and shaped the artist’s own vision. “There is something about abandoned factories that connects with people in a deep, tribal and guttural manner. Techno encapsulate the essence of this connection by letting cold machines create their own soul that in turn, connects to humans”. People refer to End Train’s music as colourful and high-energy, built on a solid kick and bassline. Together with Flaminia he founded Ways to Die records and Metempsychosis records in 2015 and 2017 respectively, to promote techno in various shapes and form from industrial to deep and broken and inspire people to move toward the lives they want. In his first ever recorded mix, Haz Mat (@haz-mat-6) has shown us the power of Detroit soul mechanized into pure kinetic energy through live instrumentation. Deeper shades of house and techno are ever present in this decadent hour-long mix, showing everyone that electronic music can still be creative and inventive in a world that has become much too stagnant.
Live set recorded at Kosmonaut - Berlin Worg is an electronic music producer, sound designer and live performer based in Rome. He explores sounds that range from experimental techno through industrial approaching deep techno. Captivating textures, persistent rhythm and metallic discordance merge both live and during studio production. Noise, smooth pads, distortions, drones and slight and hypnotic melodies are the characteristic elements of his music, giving particular attention to search both complex and distinct sonorities which are never banal. These heterogeneous elements give life to a deep sound enveloped in a dark gloomy haze. His attempt is to accompany the audience in a voyage through oniric and spectral soundscapes. Dystopian places and fantasies located in imaginative habitats, result in Worg's vision. He graduated in Electronic Music Composition, at Saint Louis College of Music in Rome. Worg released his music on labels such as Concrete Records, Trivmvirate, Absolute Records, Mitten Records, Enslavement and Pyteca.
