Yet when it comes to the bottom line of disagreements, you'll probably find it, almost every time. It's money! No matter how much they have, or how little they have, people don't agree on how it's spent. Playing a prominent part in at least 85% of all broken homes, the handling of money is one of the most explosive issues that confront people today, especially in times of recession and inflation.

In this week's sermon, we tackle the all-important topic of our finances. James shares some strong words on this subject that are meant to challenge us to pause & consider who is really in charge of our money. We are called to have a Kingdom perspective in how we prioritize, earn, and spend our money. Ultimately all that we have belongs to the Lord, and He wants us to learn to be faithful stewards of what He gives us. While this may seem very difficult and restrictive at first glance, the reality is that God is inviting us into a deeper walk with Him. Jesus longs to provide us with real security and satisfaction that earthly wealth can never fully give.

Hey Sis, We talk a lot about healing from heartbreak on this show, but you know I want to help you become the woman God called you to be and walk in purpose. I have a special guest today who is going to help with that. A big part of really walking in purpose and being able to answer the calling of God is to be good stewards over what He has already entrusted to us.  Kara shares her story of how she began living out the calling God placed on her life. Kara also gives tips on how to be good stewards over your time and money and how that leads to less stress on the road to purpose. A little about her–Kara Walker graduated from college debt free, and is now on a quest to help other students do the same with her podcast Money and Mental Peace, and her upcoming course The Debt-Free College Blueprint! She is a twenty-something Christian entrepreneur, amateur snowboarder, and recovering overachiever. Kara enjoys goal-setting, budgeting, and living a debt-free lifestyle, and wants to help YOU do the same!  You're going to want to pick up these good nuggets she's giving about being good stewards and finding your own purpose and calling. You've probably noticed at this point this past summer- your dollar isn't going as far as it used to. Gas prices are up, grocery prices are up, and just about everything else seems more expensive. It's not just your imagination- inflation is at a 40 year high. It's risen 9% in one year's time, and it rose 7% in 2021. Not only is inflation up, we're either headed towards a recession or are already in one, depending on which economist you ask. The S&P 500 had its worst first half of a year since 1970, and it is down 19 percent since January. Things are bad. And they just might be getting worse. But we're Christians! Why should we even think about money? Shouldn't we be just trusting God? What does the Bible say about managing our money during economic uncertainty? And how can continue to be generous and trust God when we don't know how much it'll cost to fill up our gas tank this time next week?

What's the best money you've ever spent? A time when you spent your money on an item, service, or experience where you felt good spending the money in the moment and you still felt amazing about the purchase a week, month, or year later? This is what I call "money well spent". Money that is spent where the value or result that you get from what you bought is more valuable to you than the money that you spent to acquire it. My ultimate goal is to help you align your spending so that most, if not all, of the money that you spend is money well spent.   This week on The Money Love Podcast we're diving into four ways that you can spend your money that are scientifically proven to boost your happiness and satisfaction levels. These “money well spent” categories work because they touch on core needs and desires that we have as human beings like self-love and connection with others. If you want to feel happier, your money is a tool that can deliver that happiness to you. This will be an episode you don't want to miss.
