Nick Olson was nominated as a Beck's Player with Heart for his commitment and passion on and off the field and mat. What he loves most about high school sports is the relationships that he creates through competing as well as the influence he has made on underclassmen by setting examples. Nick is currently involved in baseball, football and wrestling. Outside of school and sports Nick participates in church youth group, Community Farmers Markets, and is a Vacation Bible School leader. When Nick thinks about agriculture, he believes it is much broader than just large machinery and fields of crops. The farm he grew up on produces not only crops, but also maple syrup, grass-fed beef, and pasture-raised chickens. To Nick, agriculture is about providing a wide variety of food and raw materials that sustain his community. From syrup and honey to high-quality meats and eggs, agriculture plays a vital role in feeding the world and supporting local economies. Nick plans on joining the United States Air Force, and then possibly going to the academy. However, after receiving an opportunity to play division 2 or 3 football and continue his academic and athletic career, Nick is undecided on his plans after high school.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Tonight on In The Huddle, Jason Brown and Nick Olson will discuss what feels like the “Same Old Same Old” in the land of the Minnesota Vikings. NFL Free Agency is upon us and the new league starts Wednesday. The only transactions from the new Vikings front office look like the old Vikings front office. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was billed as the forward-thinking analytics guy that would apply a new direction and way of thinking, but that hasn't happened yet. They sign a perennial practice squad guy, extend Kirk Cousins even though teams were interested, let their best guard walk, talk about bringing back Kirk's security blanket to back him up, agree to deal with the third interior defensive lineman in three years, cut another one, and agreed to add a 30 linebacker. Where's the new forward-thinking? The reset? Anything? Could Andrew Miller, the Vikings COO in conjunction with Mark Wilf be sabotaging any potential progress before it even starts? Inquiring minds want to know. Join the conversation! Agenda: - Moves Re-signed IDL T.Y. McGill Extend QB Kirk Cousins Tender K Greg Joseph Agreed to sign IDL Harrison Phillips Cut IDL Michael Pierce Reports of a desire to re-sign Sean Mannion Agreed to sign LB Jordan Hicks - Kirk extension - Phillips for Pierce swap - Why does it feel like they're running back the same strategy as the old regime? Hark! Greetings, traveller! Come and sit by my fire so I might tell you a tale of adventuring heroes brave, bold, and, well...kind of stupid. In this PMT / Ya We Read It / NPC Incorporated triple crossover, DM Hobert leads his PMT Co-Host Laura through an introductory D&D adventure with the help of YA We Read It's Meggie Gates and real-life bard Nick Olson. After coming up with their characters, the team joins the Knights of the Red Plume to go on a D&D adventure pitched by the cast of NPC Incorporated. Will they prove themselves worthy of sitting with King Tony at the upcoming Feast Games? Or will our heroes get drunk, try to start fires and flirt with everyone in town? Tune in for an exciting tale that asked “why not both?”
Brinton and Nick sit down to have a deep conversation on Nick's latest book that deals with deep topics. They discuss many things in the writing space for the season premiere of Americana Quill Season two. "In The Brother We Share, Nick Olson presses into these pages, both the imprint of the way things were and the way we may have wanted them to be. How do we tell those around us of the pain we carry inside? What do we do with all that is left behind of such a pain never spoken? There is no warning before we enter into the country of loss. Only that we must, each in her time, cross into that lowest of valleys until we reach peak horizon. Beauty stuns, even in pain. For anyone who has lost: family, words, direction, hope, Olson's book is a blueprint, charting the course from where we've each been in our depth-voyages of loss, to where we must go. That 'something within' that we each have to find before 'we cross over.' This is brave work from Nick Olson, who knows, with a whole and singing heart, that life is still to be found in the things that we leave behind." --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/brinton-woodall/support
