In 2018 I launched WOC Podcasters (Women of Color), a podcasting community amplifying Women of Color podcasting creatives. Women of Color in the podcasting industry often do not receive the praise and accolades they deserve. Although we celebrate each other within the confines of our communities, the podcasting industry at large has no idea how we are shaping this space.  To further amplify our mission, I've launched a new podcast, "Women of Color Podcasters," which is now available on all podcasting platforms. "Women of Color Podcasters" is hosted and produced by Danielle Desir Corbett.  Listen on Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Or Any Podcast Player Although Women of Color host less than 29% of podcasts, we influence all aspects of the industry, from scripting to producing, technology development, and everything in between. I have to give the biggest shoutout to my girl Jomie. She's such an inspiration and I was so mesmerized by her story and how she created the dream lifestyle in the midst of Pandemic while giving birth to her firstborn and starting her business from scratch. Jomie is the founder of Just Rent-a-COO, a management agency for online businesses. Having previously built a $6-figure company and eventually working just one day a week, Jomie walked away from it all to travel the world full time. She now specializes in helping founders run their businesses on autopilot to give them space to fall in love with their life (and business!) again. In her journey, Jomie has helped clients such as a Forbes 30 under 30 list-maker and an Inc. 500 founder launch and run their new businesses. Jomie is an advocate of what she calls work-life integration and is proof that you can build a business you'll love forever: one that fits the dream life you want and serves as an outlet for your life purpose. She has been featured in Forbes and interviewed in podcasts such as Unleash Success and The Offbeat Life. She is from the Philippines and has been travelling the world with her partner (and now, a newborn son!) since 2018. We talked about The Truth, the Bullshit, and the alternative to Work/Life Balance. How it's not about balance, but about integration. When work gives you space to do life, and your life fuels you so you can put energy into work that really matters. Episode 118. "I think we often overlook what's in our backyards. Like, it's ridiculous how many places that you can see if even if you just drive a few hours out and really appreciate what you have." ~Debbie Arcangeles Conversation with Debbie Arcangeles is a lot like spinning the giant prize wheel at a carnival: every topic is a winner. And since I'm terrible at choosing, Debbie obliged me with a spin ‘round multiple subjects - travel! entrepreneurship! remote work! work/life balance! podcasting! - in just under thirty minutes.   As the creative force behind The Offbeat Life, a business that includes her podcast, an entrepreneurial skills platform, and brand partnership opportunities, Debbie's built a fully-remote lifestyle doing what she loves: traveling and speaking with people. While there's a lot to love about her digital nomad perks, big lessons come with the territory. Some are cultural; like how her Filipino features are often mistaken for the predominant local ethnicity. Others are professional; like the amount of time she's dedicated to growing her business. After years as an informal source for answers to entrepreneurial and digital nomad questions, Debbie created a menu of masterclasses and professional podcast services.  She's equal parts teacher and cheerleader of the location independent lifestyle.  Debbie has tips for making the most of local life, and plenty of international tales to tell.   Hear some of Debbie's favorite strategies for monetizing her podcast on the crossover episode she recorded for Podcast Envy episode 76. Welcome to the 100th episode of The Offbeat Life podcast! It has been such an honor so share so many incredible stories with all of you. This podcast started because I wanted to learn from all the digital nomads and independent entrepreneurs. I wanted to learn how they were able to transition and create a location independence lifestyle. I wanted to learn how to create freedom in my own life. Here I am today, a year and a half later, living the life I only dreamed of having. There are two quotes that I want to share with you, that have really resonated with me on this whole journey. The first “ Remember when you wanted what you currently have”.  This quote reminds me of the progress I've made and to be grateful for every second that I have living this messy but beautiful life. The second is a quote by Tim Ferris “ People don't want to be millionaires - they want to experience what they believe only millions can buy”. A brilliant quote because we often think that a lot of money can make us happy, but it is really the freedom that we want and if you can achieve that, then you will feel like a billionaire. So, listeners, I hope that you are able to live a life of freedom and life you truly deserve to live. Enjoy this 100th episode, as I bring back two of my fearless female friends Joni Sweet and Sierra Dehmler as we talk about life transitions and catch up on the last year of changes and gratefulness. On this week's episode of The Offbeat Life, I talk to Tarajia Morrell who is a travel food writer. Growing up, Tarajia was surrounded by the most amazing food and a dad who was a wine connoisseur. Her career path to becoming a food writer seems inevitable. However, it wasn't until her 30's when she finally realized that being a travel food writer was her purpose. Tarajia discusses how she is able to create a location independent lifestyle as a travel food writer, her struggles as an actor, how to deal with personal loss, and finally believing that she deserves personal success by following her passion as a travel food writer. Today she is a consultant and freelance travel food writer for The Wall Street Journal Magazine, Refinery29, Conde Nast Traveler, Food and Winer Magazine as well as partner of the incredible restaurant Mettā in New York.
