This weekend, both AEW and WWE are hosting major events. WWE will be making its debut on ESPN with Wrestlepalooza, while AEW will be holding All Out in the afternoon on the same day. We break down both event cards and discuss whether AEW can impact the viewership of Wrestlepalooza, especially with their main event potentially going up against the first match of Wrestlepalooza, which features Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena. We also cover how to access the ESPN app to watch Wrestlepalooza and the extent of ESPN's involvement in future premium live events (PLEs). Additionally, we delve into Tony Khan's media call regarding the possibility of scheduling a major show to compete with WWE's Saudi Arabia WrestleMania. We touch on Will Ospreay's surgery and AJ Lee's thoughts on the timing of her return.

Andrew Zarian is back from a summer break with an all-new Sunday edition of Wrestling Observer Live, catching up on all things professional wrestling. I start out catching up on things that happened this summer on my break, including the partnership between ESPN and WWE to carry all the PLEs. Why are they doing it, will it work, and how will it be perceived on a sports-centric network? The big story of the week happened on Friday Night SmackDown with the return of AJ Lee to confront Becky Lynch after she again attacked CM Punk in a well-done segment. I discuss the differences between when she left and the current landscape of women's wrestling, which she's now entering. I also discuss this week's AEW Collision, including FTR's presentation as 1980's throwback heels, and the nostalgic presentation in the 2300 arena. But does it resonate with a larger viewing audience? Plus, HBO Max is carrying AEW PPVs, Bryan Danielson is now on the AEW announce team, a Dynamite preview, and MJF gets married.
Andrew and Rich are back after a hiatus with a brand new episode and new season of The Mat Men Podcast, getting caught up and talking about the latest in pro wrestling. The guys start out getting caught up on their personal lives and what's been happening while they took the summer off. Andrew talks about regaining his love of professional wrestling after stepping back for a while. The big story appears to be the return of AJ Lee to the WWE as early as this week's Smackdown show, based on an angle with CM Punk and Becky Lynch on this week's Raw. They discuss what the working plan might be with possible involvement from Rhea Ripley, and how they might use her going forward. Also, John Cena's retirement tour is wrapping up at the end of the year, and what are some of the matches he can still have after one last Brock Lesnar match? Plus, WWE's partnership with ESPN for PLEs, AEW PPVs on HBO MAX, Street Fighter Movie, all your questions, and more!
WWE doesn't need anymore money but forcing fans to subscribe to ESPN to watch PLEs is not a smart business move.
I don't hate ESPN but I also don't like the idea of paying more to watch PLEs.

Big week in pro wrestling and we're breaking it ALL down for you! We kick things off with the shocking Raja Jackson assault incident and what it means for other promotions trying to use outsiders to generate media clout. Then we dive into the hype surrounding the upcoming WWE Clash in Paris Premium Live Event – are you excited to see it or not? We also break down the huge WWE x ESPN deal, which will now bring PLEs to ESPN's platform – what does this mean for the future of wrestling streaming? Will fans have to access multiple platforms in order to watch WWE content? Plus, the Jersey Wrecking Crew weigh in on why WWE is intentionally scheduling major PLEs to go head-to-head with AEW programing. And finally… could we see Chris Jericho return to WWE? Does it make sense, and how would it work if it actually happened? Don't miss this loaded episode – hit that LIKE button, SUBSCRIBE, and let us know in the comments what YOU the CREW think. WWE's premium live event business is about to undergo a significant shift in 2026 with it being announced that all events will be moving from Peacock to a new ESPN service in 2026. Graham "GSM" Matthews and RJ Marceau have thoughts on whether it's a positive or negative for fans and how much money they're actually saving compared to a decade ago, the lucrative deal and the lack of convenience it creates, UFC pay-per-views heading to Paramount+ and if fighter pay will increase. Plus, they have thoughts on WWE potentially counterprogramming AEW All Out next month, what's to be gained and why it's happening more often, Naomi possibly being out indefinitely after missing Monday's Raw, how WWE might have to pivot (again) with the Women's World Championship picture if she is indeed sidelined for the foreseeable future, Bayley's character change and if it will work, if Karrion Kross and Scarlett leaving WWE is legitimate and the blurring of the lines between work and shoot, what would happen if Kross were to return to WWE and his ultimate ceiling, if 40 is the prime for wrestlers nowadays, and more!
We're back and it's a pretty wrestling heavy episode. We catch up and talk a little about Batman and a rumor about an unpitched henchman story set in Gotham.
