ABERTURA SEGUNDA-FEIRA, 22 DE JANEIRO DE 2024. EU SOU LEO LOPES E ESTÁ NO AR A EDIÇÃO NÚMERO 49 DO CASTNEWS COM AS PRINCIPAIS NOTÍCIAS SOBRE O MERCADO DE PODCASTS NO BRASIL E NO MUNDO. NOTÍCIAS 1 – E hoje a gente começa falando dos resultados da última pesquisa Uso de Apps no Brasil, realizada em novembro e dezembro de 2023 pela Panorama. A Panorama é uma parceria entre o site de notícias Mobile Time e a empresa de pesquisas on-line Opinion Box, que é 100% focada em pesquisas sobre o comportamento do consumidor brasileiro. De acordo com o relatório, 66% dos brasileiros com smartphones assinam algum serviço de streaming de áudio ou vídeo. Esse número teve um grande boom de crescimento de 2019 pra cá, principalmente considerando que antes da pandemia da Covid-19, eram só 45%. Os serviços de música passaram de 26% em 2019 para 43% em 2023, com o Spotify liderando, sendo utilizado por 62% dos assinantes. Além disso, 44% dos escutados pela pesquisa ouvem podcasts nos seus smartphones, sendo que 36% deles faz isso através do Spotify. Outros dados revelados pelo estudo, foram sobre as preferências dos usuários em aplicativos. 98% dos brasileiros com smartphones já instalaram algum aplicativo, sendo que 78% deles nunca pagou pelo download de nada. O modelo preferido pela maioria dos usuários é o “freemium”: aquele com download gratuito, sem publicidade, mas com recursos premium pagos. Agora, se o olhar for especificamente pras classes D e E, o modelo preferido é o gratuito com publicidade. Em qualquer um dos casos, o público não demonstrou um grande incômodo com a publicidade em áudio. 2 – Na segunda-feira passada, a Central 3 e a plataforma APOIA.se anunciaram o projeto Mais Vozes. A campanha é uma ação afirmativa, ou seja, que busca reparar as desigualdades sociais que existem dentro da podosfera. Existem outras campanhas que promovem a diversidade de vozes aqui no Brasil, como por exemplo a hashtag #OPodcastÉDelas, o AMPLIFIKADOS, enfim, mas é sempre bom que essas portas sejam abertas pra mais pessoas interessadas em compartilhar as suas visões. O Mais Vozes vai premiar pelo menos 2 projetos de pessoas que já tenham uma ideia para produzir um podcast, ou que já tenham um programa. A busca é por podcasters, jornalistas e produtores independentes que precisam de uma forcinha pra começar ou então pra evoluir o seu podcast. Entre os prêmios para os projetos selecionados estão: recurso financeiro de R$2 mil, equipamentos de gravação, vinhetas originais, entre outros. A iniciativa é voltada para mulheres cis, pessoas trans, não-brancas, PCD's ou que façam parte de uma minoria ou maioria marginalizada. Além disso, apesar do programa focar nas regiões Norte e Nordeste, criadores de conteúdo de outros locais também podem se inscrever. AINDA EM NOTÍCIAS DA SEMANA: 3 – O Spotify retomou o Radar Podcasters Brasil, o programa que destaca vozes promissoras na podosfera brasileira. O destaque desse mês, é o podcast “fiz o que pude”, da influenciadora Ellora Haonne, que vai ficar por 30 dias na capa da playlist. No programa, a Ellora compartilha desabafos sobre os desafios da vida adulta, promovendo a responsabilidade sem que a gente seja autocrítico em excesso. No Radar Podcasters, ao longo de 2024, um total de 12 produtores vão ser destacados. Além do ‘fiz o que pude', outros quatro episódios também já foram apresentados na playlist: Sou um fracasso, do podcast Um Porcento Mais da Gi Baldino; Viciada em reclamar, do podcast Gostosas também choram, da lela brandão; Ana Luiza McLaren, do Steal The Look; e Retrospectiva Animada 2023, do Canal Nostalgia do Castanhari. O objetivo do programa é reconhecer talentos, inspirar os ouvintes a descobrirem novas vozes e construir novos públicos para os criadores de conteúdo. Se a playlist ajudar alguns podcasters independentes a romper a bolha, já tá bom demais. 4 – A Descript anunciou na semana passada o “Edit for Clarity”, um novo recurso da plataforma baseado em inteligência artificial. A ferramenta permite que criadores removam facilmente palavras de preenchimento, como “hmmm”, “é…”, “ahn” (os clássicos marcadores de discurso que dão uma trabalheira na edição) e outras lenga-lengas que não contribuem pro conteúdo do podcast. Na página da edição em texto, o podcaster pode utilizar o Ask IA pra selecionar o Edit for Clarity. Aí, uma vez selecionado, a inteligência artificial vai identificar todas essas palavras, remover, e gerar uma nova versão do conteúdo. Essa nova versão vai apresentar as palavras removidas com um traço em cima, e o podcaster pode – ou não – aceitar a versão, clicando no botão “aplicar no roteiro”. Se o robô tiver recortado demais ou de menos, o produtor pode revisar o documento e refazer manualmente. O Edit for Clarity já está disponível no site da Descript. E MAIS: 5 – Segundo um estudo da YouGov, em 2023, 10% dos ouvintes de podcasts no Reino Unido passaram mais de seis horas semanais consumindo conteúdo, o que representa um aumento de 5% desde 2019. O relatório analisou os hábitos dos “Podheads” (os ouvintes declarados de podcast) e revelou que o gênero mais popular é comédia, seguido de música, esportes e educação. Milagre a gente não ver true crime no pódio, né? Mas é isso aí mesmo, lá no Reino Unido o pessoal ouve menos true crime. Música e educação, nos últimos anos, tiveram aumento de mais de 10%. Cerca de 42% dos ouvintes afirmaram que ouvem podcasts para fins educativos, enquanto 37% dos entrevistados ouvem podcasts pra se manterem informados. Outro ponto interessante da pesquisa foi sobre a relação dos ouvintes com os anúncios: quase metade dos consumidores de podcast disseram que ouvem anúncios, e a maioria deles não liga de ouvir. 17% dos entrevistados defenderam que os anúncios não parecem intrusivos e são, muitas vezes, até interessantes. O relatório da YouGov deixou claro que os podcasts continuam tendo um papel muito importante na vida dos britânicos, o que abre oportunidades tanto pros produtores de conteúdo quanto pros anunciantes. 6 – Na última semana o Castnews também traduziu a íntegra de um artigo escrito pelo Tom Webster, da Sounds Profitable, que destaca uma perspectiva importante sobre o podcasting: a ideia de “tempo ganho ouvindo podcasts” ao invés de “tempo gasto“. O artigo se baseia em dados do estudo Podcast Movement em Denver, falando que apesar de 40% dos ouvintes ouvirem mais podcasts do que há um ano atrás, quase 20% passa menos tempo consumindo os podcasts, de fato. O principal motivo disso, como citado pelo Tom, é a falta de tempo. Ele aproveita o artigo pra usar a metáfora da “pedra grande e areia fina”, pra ilustrar como tem sido o gerenciamento de tempo do público de podcasts. Os podcasts fazem parte da areia fina; que é um conteúdo que pode ser consumido durante as brechas do dia-a-dia – e é isso mesmo, quantas vezes ao longo do Castnews a gente já falou que os ouvintes escutam podcast enquanto se deslocam pro trabalho? Enquanto lavam louça? Essa flexibilidade é um dos pontos positivos do podcast. Enfim, o Tom Webster também comparou essa abordagem com o Duolingo, que transformou aprender línguas estrangeiras em pequenas tarefas práticas no dia a dia. O artigo é grande, não teria como a gente comentar todo o conteúdo dele aqui, mas vale muito a pena ler na íntegra e tirar suas próprias conclusões, mas uma coisa é certa: podcast é uma ferramenta muito poderosa, e que se usada do jeito certo, não é gasto de tempo. É investimento. 7 – E nas dicas de produção da semana, a equipe do Castnews puxou vários conteúdos importantes: Qual a duração ideal de um episódio de podcast? Quais as melhores práticas pra um podcast de entrevista? Tem como crescer na podosfera colaborando com outros criadores de conteúdo? As respostas são: depende, sim, e sim. Primeiro, porque cada podcast tem que ter a duração que tem que ter. Nem mais, nem menos. Quer saber o que isso significa? HOJE NO GIRO SOBRE PESSOAS QUE FAZEM A MÍDIA: 8 – O curta-metragem “Dragged Holidays,” produzido por um trio brasileiro, levou o prêmio no concurso internacional Holiday Contest, organizado pela Curious Refuge. A produção foi feita pelo podcaster Rafael Arinelli, criador e apresentador do podcast Cinem(ação), pelo Beto Padreca, criador e apresentador do Miolos Fritos, e a diretora de arte Paula Fernandes (não confundir com a cantora de sertanejo, porque são pessoas diferentes). O filme narra a história de uma Drag queen famosa que recebe um convite da mãe para jantar na noite de Natal, o que leva a personagem a refletir sobre sua vida e os seus maiores desafios. A proposta do concurso era criar um curta metragem de 3 minutos com o tema de Natal, usando ferramentas de IA e músicas da Epidemic Sound, enquanto a voz era livre para ser utilizada de qualquer forma que os produtores quisessem. Essa é a primeira vez que uma equipe brasileira ganha esse prêmio da Curious Refuge, e o Rafael fez questão de agradecer e falar sobre como foi importante ter recebido ajuda da comunidade de podcasts na divulgação do material. SOBRE LANÇAMENTOS: 9 – A Native Instruments lançou o iZotope VEA, um assistente de aprimoramento de voz com tecnologia de inteligência artificial, projetado para podcasters e criadores de conteúdo. O VEA analisa e aprimora o áudio, dando maior clareza, níveis mais consistentes e redução de ruído de fundo nas captações de voz. O objetivo é ajudar os podcasters a se sentirem mais confiantes e entregarem um som mais aprimorado. São três controles diferentes ajustados pela tecnologia de IA da iZotope: o controle Shape, que garante um som profissional sem ajustes de equalização, o controle Boost, que aumenta o volume e compressão para melhorar a presença vocal, e o controle Clean, que elimina ruídos de fundo, mantendo a qualidade da fala. O plugin já está disponível e pode ser integrado a várias plataformas de áudio digital e editores não-lineares. 10 – E na última semana foi lançado o podcast Peraí, amiga!, comandado pelas hosts Ane Vaz e Fey Marques. O projeto foi ao ar dia 18 de janeiro, com o episódio de inauguração “A tal da Vila”. A discussão girou em torno do conceito da “Vila” na bolha materna, falando sobre a importância das amizades na vida da mulher e como essas relações se adaptam com a chegada da maternidade. Como a própria descrição do programa já diz, o Peraí, amiga! é feito por 2 amigas, 5 crianças, um cachorro, 3 empresas, algumas taças de vinho, e a sua participação.
