From Johns Hopkins medical expert Dr. Marty Makary, the New York Times-bestselling author of The Price We Pay-an eye-opening look at the medical groupthink that has led to public harm, and what you need to know about your health. More Americans have peanut allergies today than at any point in history. Why? In 2000, the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a strict recommendation that parents avoid giving their children peanut products until they're three years old. Getting the science perfectly backward, triggering intolerance with lack of early exposure, the US now leads the world in peanut allergies-and this misinformation is still rearing its head today. How could the experts have gotten it so wrong? Dr. Marty Makary asks, Could it be that many modern-day health crises have been caused by the hubris of the medical establishment? Experts said for decades that opioids were not addictive, igniting the opioid crisis. They refused menopausal women hormone replacement therapy, causing unnecessary suffering. They demonized natural fat in foods, driving Americans to processed carbohydrates as obesity rates soared. They told citizens that there are no downsides to antibiotics and prescribed them liberally, causing a drug-resistant bacteria crisis. When modern medicine issues recommendations based on good scientific studies, it shines. Conversely, when modern medicine is interpreted through the harsh lens of opinion and edict, it can mold beliefs that harm patients and stunt research for decades. In Blind Spots, Dr. Makary explores the latest research on critical topics ranging from the microbiome to childbirth to nutrition and longevity and more, revealing the biggest blind spots of modern medicine and tackling the most urgent yet unsung issues in our $4.5 trillion health care ecosystem. The path to medical mishaps can be absurd, entertaining, and jaw-dropping-but the truth is essential to our health.

Critical Race Theory In Our Schools Dr. George Maurer part 2Critical Race Theory, or commonly referred to as CRT, has been in the news a lot recently. One thing is certain, CRT has totally infiltrated our education system… When confronted, education leaders will deny it is impacting education – and in a lot of cases, they blatantly say it is not being taught at all… As a parent or grandparent who is trying to find out about what IS being taught on Critical Race Theory, it's almost impossible to find the information you are looking for. Why? Because the powers that be do not want you to understand what it is. It takes someone who knows how to navigate those dangerous waters to be able to go in, find out what's happening and then come back and report on it. That is what our guest today has accomplished. Dr. George Maurer is an award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 35 years of experience. He's a retired Air Force Master Sergeant who deployed to Iraq during the Global War on Terrorism. He also served overseas in Japan, Korea, the Portuguese Azores, and Alaska. For his final assignment, he served in the Pentagon Press Briefing Room alongside all major news organizations. He's interviewed top defense officials such as Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen as well as rock stars like Sammy Hagar and Pat Benatar. During his career, he covered a wide range of major events such as the first military tribunals of enemy combatants at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and the Super Bowl. He is also the author of an expose' book titled, “Critical Race Theory in Your School.” In this book, he provides YOU, the average parent or grandparent, vital information to identify IF CRT is being taught and what you can do about it! Amen! In this book, he provides you some “key words” to be watching out for and how you can then use that information to your advantage. To share some great insights into exposing CRT and what you can do to fight it in your school district, help me welcome to the program, Dr. George Maurer. This is part two to a great conversation with Dr. Geroge Maurer! One section of your book jumped out at me that I'd like to share. You were discussing an interview you watched with a Dr. Cardona on a television program called, “The View.” On this show he was asked, point blank, if CRT was being taught at any grade level in the public school and he answered “no.” He was then asked if it was being taught “anywhere.” You said as he answered the question “NO” he broke the gaze with the host and was looking down and to the left. You picked up on that as being deceptive. As a retired police officer, I've had the opportunity to take several interrogation classes and have conducted numerous interrogations at one level or another over my time in law enforcement. I can definitely say, if someone is “trying to remember” something… they will usually look “up and to the right.” And, if they are trying to deceive or avoid the question, you were correct in your assumption that they will look, “down and to the left.” This is NOT 100% accurate… in law enforcement, we call it a “clue” they may not be telling the truth… and it keys us into an area that we need to ask more probing questions, etc. In your book, “Critical Race Theory in Your School,” you discuss this is not a new tactic but actually started with Rush Limbaugh and Lars Larson radio shows where these talking points would be called in by liberal operatives. Explain that information for us… Some school districts will say they are not teaching CRT, but

Dr. Maurer, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to join us today. I do appreciate it. First question I always start with is this… other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Dr. George Maurer?” How did you get involved with this CRT stuff in the beginning? What was the spark that started all of this, with the book and everything? You share about CRT in the classroom, did you also see it in the military? How did this get started? I know it had to come from the politicians and the teachers unions, but WHY? What music do you listen to? What songs do you turn to when you're stressed or feel alone? Are you looking for something that's good for the soul and the mind? Drew Mariani had a great conversation with Dr. Jennifer Donaldson about how classical music can work wonders on our brains. Feelings and Brain Boost: Classical music isn't just pretty to listen to; it also hits you emotionally and gets your brain working. Studies show it can seriously boost your brainpower. The Mozart Effect: Ever heard of the Mozart Effect? Listening to Mozart can give your IQ a temporary lift. Researchers at the University of California found that people who listened to Mozart scored 10 points higher on IQ tests compared to those who listened to other relaxing music. Gray Matter Magic: Musicians who play classical music have brains that age better! MRI scans show their gray matter stays stable, while the rest of us might see a 20% drop as we get older. Feel-Good Chemicals: Classical music helps your brain release endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin, making you feel good, relaxed, and even helps with pain and sleep. Old School Wisdom: Turns out, medieval folks already knew music was awesome for your mind and soul. They believed beautiful music reflects the goodness of reality, touching both emotions and intellect, and helps us thrive. Catholic Beauty: According to St. Thomas Aquinas, beauty involves proportion, clarity, and integrity. These elements are baked into classical music and align perfectly with Catholic values like truth, goodness, and beauty. Gregorian Chant: Drew and Dr. Donaldson also talked about how Gregorian chant is like a supercharger for prayer. It's basically sung prayer that helps you connect deeply with God. Music in Schools: Dr. Donaldson stressed that music and arts in schools are crucial. They help kids grow emotionally and intellectually, setting them up for a virtuous and happy life. Relaxation and Virtue: For Catholics, Dr. Donaldson believes that downtime should be about enjoying art forms that might be a bit challenging but still very rewarding. Bottom Line: Classical music is not just entertainment; it's a powerful tool for boosting brain function, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. Whether it's Mozart, Gregorian chant, or sacred polyphony, adding beautiful music to your life can make everything better.

I discuss aspects of individuals and groups who are attempting to play the hero: NYC schools seeking to be the parents to children who have lost their families to illness and the bioweapons; Dr. Gold grift is back and some more inside dirt on her and AFLD with Scientology ties; Twitter's involvement in censorship; potential international tribunals could be a positive; and the WHO has a document to discredit anti-vaxxers from back in 2017. Following the murder of George Floyd in May 2020, the Cranford community created the Equity and Inclusivity Initiative to examine what needed to be done to make the town welcoming to everyone. Leaders of the project include a wide range of community members, including representatives from the township committee, public schools, clergy, police and citizens. Meetings, which were open to all members of the public, developed draft mission, value, vision and goal statements, an action plan and a strategic plan.On January 9 a survey was released seeking feedback from all stakeholders. Cranford Radio spoke with several leaders of the initiative to learn more about their work and the purposes of the survey. Guests on the episode are Police Chief Ryan Greco, Sherry Williams, Rev. Alfred Brown of the First Baptist Church, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott Rubin, Dr. Christopher Chapman of the Roselle Chapter of the NAACP and Township Committee member Kathleen Miller Prunty.
