Vansilli boasts one of the oldest resumes in esports, finding his start in casting way back in the 2000s with CS:GO 1.5. Despite working with many of the other OGs of the esports scene, Vansilli may seem like a new face, really finding his footing concretely with the release of Valorant. It's a unique esports tale - perhaps he had the opportunity to be "at the right place at the right time" in the early 2010s, but decided instead to take a step back from esports right before CS:GO's big boom and work full-time at a non-esports job for years. Smix got her start as a translator on TL.net back during the Brood War days, and like many of the most famous and skilled on-air talent that we have today, found herself "falling into" e-sports as a career. While many of us know her for her hosting and translating in SC2, she became a staple of the e-sports world by becoming a host for CS:GO...also somewhat by accident. We talk about her beginnings back in the BW TL.net days and how she transitioned from just translating to becoming a renowned interviewer and host.Find the video version here -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjISxTWBSAMConsider supporting the podcast on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/zombiegrubSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/zombiegrub)
In the following episode, I sit down with Jared "PiG" Krensel. An absolute leader in the Starcraft 2 scene globally, providing content for all new, current and future Starcraft 2 players. Jared's experience in Starcraft 2 is nothing short of amazing, previously winning the 2016 WCS Winter Regional Challenger and performing exceptionally in many minor's and online tournaments. This led Jared to be required by firstly Tt Esports and then Exile 5. Jared shares his knowledge about what he felt like he did write, but also the pivotal lessons that he learnt along his way, as he stepped out of the very traditional work-life route. We also discuss in detail the importance of understanding Starcraft 2 from a holistic approach, as it has been recognised as one of the hardest games for fully learn, a game that no one can ultimately master. We touch on many underlying mindsets such as; brute forcing a positive mindset, dealing with anxiety under pressure and how to be critical but also open. Finally, Jared shares some experiences from his Shoutcasting and the lessons he has learnt along the way.
Tasteless has been casting e-sports before people knew what e-sports was. Originally a Brood War player, Tasteless went to Korea to pursue a potential career that no one took seriously, and helped create the foundation of English commentating for StarCraft 2. Tasteless remains one of the best hype commentators of the e-sports world, and with his casting archon buddy Artosis, remains one of the most recognizable brands as well. We talk about his beginnings and how he had to push to even have English commentators at events, his approach to casting currently, and what he thinks the future might entail for his career.Find the video version here -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWS-NV2QzQQConsider supporting the podcast on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/zombiegrubSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/zombiegrub)
Sideshow is most well-known for his role as analyst for the OWL, having been a part of the TF2 scene for years before his big break. Brought on board for its inaugural year as a desk analyst as a more "newbie" name, he quickly proved himself one of the most intelligent and well-spoken analyst in the e-sports scene. We talk about his rise up through TF2 to OWL, how important it is to be flexible and eager, and what it takes to make it in the biggest e-sports when it seems everyone else is trying the same thing.Find the video version here -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_gyzQdaZmAConsider supporting the podcast on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/zombiegrubSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/zombiegrub)

Three week hype train! This episode starts off with a correction and admission of stupidity. You stick around with this podcast long enough than you'll probably understand that this will be a reoccuring theme. From there I talk about my continuation of Smash Bros Ultimate and taking baby steps into Shoutcasting. I talk a little bit about my time with Playstation VR and Astrobots Rescue Mission! Eventually the bulk of the conversation moves towards my thoughts on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and how I hope to see the movie become a reverse engineered Avengers movie for an animated Spider Universe. The episode closes with my thoughts on streaming, my plans on moving forward and more updates on my time as a Mixer streamer. Phew. What an episode. Hope you enjoy!

Title: Don't wait for someone to pay you | Esports shoutcaster Sam Wright Guest: Sam Wright - Esports shoutcaster plus tech and games blogger Blog: techgirl.co.za Facebook: facebook.com/techgirlza Twitter: @techgirlza Instagram: instagram.com/techgirlza/ YouTube Highlights: Got her start in video games with Nintendo games and playing Mortal Kombat 3 on PC that her dad had gotten. Later her brother and his friends would play Dota in the weekends, and he eventually got signed to a pro team. That lead to Sam wanting to cover the esports scene more seriously to help build the local scene. That led to working alongside Paul 'Redeye' Chaloner on a big tournament, and he told her that she could have a career in esports. That might sound like she got lucky, but she also worked hard to put herself in a situation where she could take advantage of that lucky break. Besides writing about technology and games on her blog and going esports events, she studied journalism and chose a university where she could do radio. So before working with esports, she worked in a newsroom. All these elements clearly give her a lot of useful experience and you can tell by the way she approaches a job like hosting the Overwatch Contenders that she's thought a lot about what it takes to work in esports and broadcasting in general.
