In thinking about what we wanted to do for our 151st episode, we wanted to talk about an album which we knew very well. In realizing that we rarely do live albums, we thought about the live albums that have influenced us and that we've listened to the most. For The Wolf, that would be 1989's A Show of Hands by Rush - their 3rd live album chronicling their 80s techno-pop stage. Many hardcore Rush and rock fans don't have much nice to say about 80s era Rush as the mid-range usually occupied by Alex Lifeson's guitar was all but consumed by keyboards. Even legendary drummer Neil Peart had MIDI triggers on his drum kit to make more experimental noises. But A Show of Hands does show arena Rush moving from strength to strength with Geddy Lee's plodding bass, Neil's brilliant bombastic, Ales's flourishes and lyrics that had become more timely and more timeless. Covering the albums Signals, Power Windows, Grace Under Pressure and Hold Your Fire (with a couple of older ones thrown in) this highlights a Rush era that may not be everyone's favorite but an important time in their history. And one The Wolf & Action Jackson hold in high esteem. Released January 9, 1989, they actually released several singles which charted in the US and this wrapped up the 80s techno phase before moving back towards the power trio sound with Presto. Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished,.... Though they give the hand to one another, unite in their counsels, enter into combinations, confederacies, and strict alliances, and join all their force and strength together; or though with both hands, with all their might and main, endeavour to secure themselves, yet they shall not go unpunished. This may be exemplified in the kings of the earth, that will join each other, and gather their armies together, to make war against Christ; when they will be conquered, taken, and slain, Rev_19:19. Jarchi interprets it, "from hand to hand", and explains it thus; from the hand of God into their hand shall come the reward of their work, and shall not go unpunished: to which may be added, even though there may be a succession of parents and children, and their substance may be handed down from the one to the other, yet at last just punishments will take place. To which is opposed, but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered; these are the seed of the church in all successive ages; the seed that are accounted of by the Lord for a generation; particularly the remnant of the woman's seed, that keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ; against whom the dragon, the old serpent the devil, was wroth, and went forth to make war, in order utterly to destroy them; but they escaped his hands, were delivered from him, and preserved by the power and grace of God, as a seed to serve him, Rev_12:17.

Kenny Haas is in studio to talk all things sports and beyond. Kenny shares his thoughts on Syracuse basketball and the season that was. With the future of Jim Boeheim in question, the basketball team ended the regular season on another sour note, with tough losses to UNC and Miami, the focus shifts to possible post-season tournaments like the CBI and CIT. Kenny talks about the runs local basketball teams had, including the Waterloo girls and Mynderse boys, and wraps up the show talking about Calvin Ridley's suspension due to gambling on NFL games.

Read along to practice your English and to learn the English phrases TO LEND A HAND and A SHOW OF HANDSIn this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English phrase, to lend a hand. Sometimes you see someone trying to do something. Maybe they're trying to get their groceries into their car in the grocery store parking lot, and they maybe look like they need some help, and then you could lend a hand. When you lend a hand to someone, it means you help them do something. Before I was able to clean my driveway myself, many, many years ago, when we moved here, my neighbor would sometimes come and lend a hand. I just had a small tractor, he had a big tractor, and he would lend a hand, he would help me clean my driveway. I really appreciated that. Good neighbors are awesome, by the way.WANT FREE ENGLISH LESSONS? GO TO YOUTUBE AND SEARCH, "BOB THE CANADIAN"If you enjoy these lessons please consider supporting me at: http://www.patreon.com/bobthecanadianThe second phrase I wanted to teach you today is a show of hands. Sometimes when I'm in a meeting, when we're trying to decide something, the person leading the meeting will say, well, let's have a show of hands, who thinks we should do this? And then if you think you should do whatever you're talking about, you put your hand up, and that's called a show of hands. So it's quite often when I'm in a meeting with other teachers, when we're trying to decide something, the person leading the meeting might say, you know what, let's vote on this. Could I see a show of hands for all the people who are in favor of doing whatever we're trying to decide to do.Anyways, to review, to lend a hand means to give someone help, to help someone out. When you can see that they need someone to help them, you can lend a hand, you can give them a hand as well, by the way. And when you vote on something in a meeting, we sometimes call that a show of hands. I actually hope the audio is working okay. I see my microphone fluttering in the wind here. So I hope that everything is working okay. We'll see when I go back in, and edit this.Anyways, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Eduardo, cool snow view. By the way, is it possible that it snows, even though the sun is so bright? I saw that in the last seconds. And my response, I think the snow was blowing off the roof of my shed.So no, it doesn't usually snow when it's sunny, although sometimes there's clouds above, and then you can see the sun in the distance. But what I think was happening the other day, Eduardo, I'm not sure if you can see it, maybe I should walk out further, but sometimes the snow ends up on the roof of my shed. And then when it's really, really windy, that snow blows off the roof onto the driveway, and onto people who are just kind of standing there. It's a little windy today. I have to go out here, and grab my recycle bins. By the way, in Canada, we have our recycling, and our garbage gets picked up by a big truck, the recycling truck or the garbage truck comes. And you can see out at the road there, my recycle bins and my compost bin are laying there. We also have truck that picks up our compost. So as soon as I'm done this video, in about a minute, I will grab those, and I will bring them back into the house. It's actually, I might have to clean the driveway actually today.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/bobthecanadian)

Before Mal joins us, we talk about our mom's day and the card Evan wrote to Laura. Linda and the whole fam went to Disneyland. Lots of different stuff going on there because of COVID. Laura went to TJ to watch the Canelo fight and Erik's friend had a rough time at the Apple Store the other day. Speaking of Erik, he offloads a bunch of tantalizing Double D stories. Frank's wife Jere brought home some items from his mother's house, including two antique chairs. Krisha goes to the living room to see the chairs. Frank didn't know that his mom used to like telling the story of how Frank bought the chairs for her in the summer after she was widowed. Frank's wife also brought home the puppets that Frank had as a child. They remind Krisha of some of the puppets from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Krisha didn't react well to an attempt at puppet therapy for her ADD as a child. She was given Ritalin but finally found help by taking dance classes. Krisha has been training to be a stage manager at the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud. She finds that she really loves running the sound board at the theater. Her intense work schedule leaves her exhausted on her one day off per week. Frank thought she slept all day because of her second vaccine shot but she said it was because of the long hours at work. The nurse asked Frank about his “little friend” when he got his second shot. He was prepared for side effects. He took a nap and had chicken noodle soup at the ready however he had no reaction to the shot. Today's episode is sponsored by Steve's Tree Service. Jeffrey Augustine Songco is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the complexity of self-portraiture. His autobiographical installations incorporate self-portrait photographs, videos, and sculptures. In 2008, Songco established the Society of 23 as a non-linear narrative documenting a secret brotherhood of 23 mysterious men — all portrayed by the artist himself. “As a gay American man of Filipino ethnicity, my artwork is a place of representation — an opportunity to playfully cast myself as the protagonist of a postcolonial queer narrative.” Jeffrey is currently showing in the group exhibition 'Guilty Party' at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian American Pacific Experience in Seattle, on view through May 16, and the solo exhibition 'Society of 23's Trophy Game Room' at Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh as part of 'Factory Installed 2021' on view through November 14. https://www.songco.org @songcoarts --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
