Stāsta ērģeļu meistars, Rīgas Doma ērģeļu pārraugs Viesturs Ilsums: Ielūkosimies Eberharda Frīdriha Valkera darbnīcā vēl kādu labu laiku pirms Rīgas Doma ērģeļu būves… [1] Valkers, projektējot ērģeles kādai Frankfurtes baznīcai, vēlējās iekļaut instrumenta reģistru paletē tolaik unikālu reģistru – Subbass 32'. (Iecerētas kā vaļējas koka stabules 32 pēdu jeb gandrīz 10 metru garumā). Pasūtītājs gan bija skeptisks par šāda reģistra labskanību, jo tobrīd vēl nebija zināms neviens gadījums, kad kādam tas būtu izdevies. Valkers tomēr nolēma ar savu labo vārdu riskēt un panāca to, ka Frankfurtes draudze piekrita šo stabuļu rindu iekļaut līgumā. Tomēr, uzsākot ērģeļu būvi, izrādījās, ka teorētiskie aprēķini milzīgo stabuļu izmēriem nedeva cerēto rezultātu. Lielākajām stabulēm bija sadzirdami vienīgi virstoņi, kuri ieskanējās gausi, nesteidzīgi un klusi. Cerētais tā arī nebija sadzirdams. Tā vietā nemuzikāla, draudīga šņākoņa. Valkers jau sajuta sev neraksturīgas šaubas par pārlieku drosmīgo ideju. Pārdomājot neveiksmi, viņš pat apsvēra domu, ka cilvēka dzirde vienkārši nespēj uztvert tik zemas frekvences skaņu. (Šis tonis jau arī nav tālu no cilvēka dzirdes spektra galējās robežas!) Par turpmāko uzzinām Valkera biogrāfa rakstītajā: „Kāds no Valkera darbnīcas mācekļiem, vēlēdamies uzsildīt līmi, piepildīja kamīnu ar sausām ēveļskaidām un aizdedzināja. Pēc mirkļa uguns skurstenī radīja spēcīgu vilkmi, un telpā kļuva dzirdama spēcīga, dunoša zemas frekvences skaņa, kas lika Valkeram pilnā balsī iesaukties: bet tas taču IR mans bass!!! Kad uguns bija apdzisusi, Valkers izmērīja skursteņa šķērsgriezuma laukumu. Viņš saprata, ka nav vis kļūdījies stabuļu šķērsgriezuma aprēķinos, bet gan korpusa sienu biezumā. Nekavējoties tika konstruēta eksperimentāla stabule ar dubultotu sienu biezumu. Rezultāts nelika vilties. Spēcīgi vibrējošais gaisa stabs, atrodot pienācīgu atbalstu biezajās stabuļu sienās, radīja pilnīgu, skaidru un stabilu toni. Skeptiski noskaņotajam pasūtītājam nu varēja teikt: 32 pēdu reģistrs ir gatavs! 50 gadus pēc šī notikuma noslēdzas arī Rīgas Doma ērģeļu būve. Arī šeit pie mums ir iebūvēts tas pats pedāļa reģistrs – Principalbass 32', kas vēlākajos gados jau ir Valkera firmas vizītkarte vairākās lielformāta ērģelēs. Rīgas Doma ērģeļu skanējums nepalika bez atbalss arī preses izdevumos. Zināmu apbrīnu par kompetenci ērģeļu jomā pelna 19. gs. mūzikas žurnālistika. "Rigasche Zeitung" (Nr. 48, 27.02.1884.) relīzē aprakstīti un vārdā saukti vairāki konkrēti reģistri, kuri lietoti Doma ērģelnieka Vilhelma Bergnera (jun.) koncertā, aptuveni mēnesi pēc Doma ērģeļu atklāšanas. Kā ārkārtīgi skaistas balsis raksturotas Vox Angelica jeb Eņģeļu balss un Vox Celeste jeb Debesu balss, kuras skanējušas klusi, maigi un pat trenētai ausij tikko dzirdami. Raksta autors gan šeit velta arī kritiku Bergnera izvēlei, jo esot bijis pārāk maz skanīgu epizožu. Savukārt Leipcigā izdotajā laikrakstā “Neue Zeitschrift für Musik” Lista skolnieks, ērģelnieks Aleksandrs Vilhelms Gotšalks ļoti sīki aprakstījis Rīgas Doma ērģeļu zemāko balsi Principalbass 32'. Pēc viņa aprēķiniem lielākās stabules tilpums ir 2000 litru. Jāpiebilst, ka zemākās stabules šķērsgriezums ir 50 x 60 cm, tā darināta no egles koka un ir gandrīz 10 metrus gara. Tātad tajā var ietilpt neliela izmēra cilvēks. Šie, protams, ir fakti, kuriem noteikti vajadzēja intriģēt 19. gs. lasītāju. Bet tāpat tie varētu būt interesanti arī mūsdienu klausītājam. Karma Podcast 32 with CK. This guy is owner of DEEP MVMT podcast and has huge music background. During his youth he listened to mostly classic Hip-Hop (1997 - 2002), afterwards began to frequent the Romanian Space Club & UK Fabric. The major call for electronic music in terms of DJing and Production came at the age of 30, in 2012 when he first attended a DJing course followed by a Production one at Subbass DJ Academy in London. One year later, CK won 3 DJ competitions in a row: EDC London, Movida Corona UK & Amnesia Ibiza DJ Challenge and also had his first EP released - Back from SubBass. He release music on various labels, including Wiggle & Be Color and also owns a podcast platform called DEEP MVMT. "Everyone got it’s own way of doing, saying or playing things; I’ve got mine. What I choose is what I play; And the way I choose music is pretty simple: When I go through selections, releases and playlists, I hear the right beat, mood or track, and something lights up in me - That’s the moment when I know I’ve found a tune I cannot live without. I breath through music since I was 10, became a fan of electronic music when I was 20 and got into DJ’ing and music production at 30. Für die Show 'Schwarze Löcher' im Planetarium Bochum und Mannheim habe ich die Musik produziert. Das Projekt war sehr aufwändig, da zu der knappen Zeit noch Sounddesign, Surround-Mischung, Sprachaufnahme und Sprach-Editing kamen. Today we have two comments which we would like to discuss. The first was sent by Irineo and he writes: “Nice post as usual, maestro. But I recall having seen (or heard) that when you use a very low fifth stop (10 2/3' for instance) along with a 16' you get the effect of a 32'. Trouble is that there isn't any 16' stop left over there. So I guess the only solution lays in calling the technician. Could that be caused by the bellows having ruptured or collapsed and not being able any more to deliver the necessary pressure for the heavier stops? What do you think maestro? Irineo.” And the second question was sent by John. He writes: “I frequently quint bass notes on the Subbass - no other stops drawn, as it sounds unpleasant. It only works (as far as I can tell) from bottom C to F - after that it doesn't sound good. This idea of playing the tonic + its fifth on the pedals goes really well with string combinations and 8' - 4' flutes. This gives a quasi 32' effect. Of course when you are playing full organ you can use this method as well (but probably only once at a climax or the last chord).”
