Noah Centineo, star of ‘Black Adam' and ‘To All the Boys I've Loved Before' joins us today to talk about everything from chicken nuggets to self belief. So get ready for a varied chat to say the least! Believe it or not, Noah has been working since he was just 8 years old, starting his career on the Disney Channel. Then, in 2018 when the first movie of the ‘To All The Boys I Loved Before' trilogy was released, he became the internet's boyfriend practically overnight. There was so much thirst for the movie, he went from 300,000 Instagram followers to 11 million in seven days! If you haven't watched the movies before, stop right now and run to Netflix. They follow Lara Jean (played by Lana Condor) who's private love letters are exposed to her high school and Noah's character hot jock Peter comes to take her heart, and ours, too. It's pure joy and escapism! Noah is making a childhood dream come true by slipping into his finest superhero outfit and starring in the latest DC universe film, ‘Black Adam'. The movie follows Noah's character Atom Smasher who is called up to join the Justice League along with Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Dr. Fate (Pierce Brosnan) and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell) to suss out the mythical superhero, Black Adam who wakes after 5,000 years. Is he good? Is he bad? Well he's played by none other than Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock - or as Noah calls him DJ - so that's worth watching the movie to find out isn't it! In this episode Noah reveals just how epic The Rock is IRL and just how intense filming the movie was - which involved dislocated joints, so rather him than me! - and how the training to prepare for the movie made him reflect on his body image and his mindset. And don't worry Noah also struggles to get himself in the gym too! Not just us then (relief!) but he does have a little inspirational advice to get your ass up and in that gym. Whilst we also talk about my favourite topic on the planet: chicken nuggets, what I love most about this episode are the words Noah shares about, self-belief, manifestation (he loves a vision board!), putting in the work and refusing to be boxed in. If you have missed any of the episodes of Reign Season six go check them out now - we've been joined by Stranger Things star, Natalia Dyer, iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove, Fate: The Winx Saga, Abigail Cowen, Lena Dunham and MORE! I hope you keep on listening and finding the power to Reign in your own lives. If you love this episode, please get in touch (follow me across social media @joshsmithhosts), I love hearing from you. Love, Josh xxx

On this episode of Complicated Conversations, we chat with Sascha Rothchild about her debut novel, BLOOD SUGAR. Sascha is an Emmy-nominated screenwriter, who has written on and produced lauded shows such as The Carrie Diaries, GLOW, The Bold Type, and The Babysitters Club. ** Sascha starts by sharing the real life inspiration for this book that involves a dream about her husband dying and her being accused of murder! (01:16) ** Ruby Simon, the protagonist in Blood Sugar, is many things, a murderer being just one of them. Sascha talks about her development of Ruby and why she wanted to create a character that would cause debate. Mission accomplished.  (03:15) ** Blood Sugar is a conversation starter. Sascha explains why this is so important to her personally and how creating complicated characters has been a central part of her career. (05:15) ** We loved hearing Sascha's perspective on how the portrayal of the “unlikeable” female protagonist has become more acceptable and the changes she has seen for female television writers over the years. (07:08) ** Sascha explains the three elements she gives characters to add dimension and complexity. (10:05) ** Sascha discusses how her memoir about divorce, the book that first made Carinn a fan, broke her career wide open. (12:38) ** Sascha shares what lessons she learned as an Emmy-nominated TV writer that she infused into her binge-able debut novel. (16:50) ** We congratulate Sascha on her new role as showrunner on “To All The Boys I Loved Before” spinoff on Netflix, “Xo, Kitty”. We loved hearing about collaborating with Jenny Han herself. (19:33) ** Sascha's writing career is varied, but she explains how this has all been part of her plan. (21:22) ** Kate declares that she and Sascha are kindred spirits, discussing their mutual love of Anne of Green Gables. (24:57) ** We discuss astrology and how Sascha feels “very Scorpio.” (27:50) ** Carinn and Sascha then bond over their love of yoga and the ways it has changed their lives. (29:22) ** We fangirl with Sascha about Glow and how that show is everything we love and want to see on TV! (35:36)  ** Sascha shares what she is loving right now in terms of books, TV and movies. Geoffrey Thorne is back! This time to dispense more details (but still not a lot) on Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther's Quest; where he was the head writer.   You can see the just-dropped trailer here!    The show officially drops at the end of September on Disney XD, check your cable guide!   Geoff, most recently, repeated fabled screenwriter William Goldman's dictum "Nobody Knows Nothing" which was pulled from his classic book, "Adventures In The ScreenTrade", even though it was written in the early 1980s, at least 90% of it still holds true (which is sad and extremely telling), get yourself a copy at Amazon!   Also, its sequel "Which Lies Did I Tell" is well-worth reading too!   The latest article on A.I.
