In this talk, we discuss the Matangī meditation mantra and present a simple worship of Matangi since the day before yesterday was her Jayanti (birthday). We were all of us recovering from our Atlanta adventure so I didn't get to write to you yesterday and wish you all a happy Akshaya Trititya; you were all in my heart!Akshaya Trititya is such an auspicious day combining so many important events that I think I'll say a few things about it in class today also before our practice. On this day:1. The day the first naga sadhu, Rishabha was fed2. Treta Yuga began3. Parashurama, the axe-wielding, angry avatar of Vishnu was born4. Ganga Mā first flowed down from heaven5. Shiva appointed Kubera the ruler of material prosperity6. Vyāsa begin composing the Mahabharata (with Ganesh taking dictation)7. Yudishtira received the Infinite Bowl (Akshaya patra)8. Parvati took the form of AnnapurnaAnd of course it's also the auspicious Jayanti of Matangī Mā! Worship of MātangīDraw a red downward pointing triangle in the North-East and then chant the Matangī meditation mantra:śavopari–samāsīnāṁ raktāmbaraparicchadām।raktālaṅkāra saṁyuktāṁ guñjāhāra vibhūṣitāma॥ṣoḍaśābdāṁ ca yuvatīṁ pīnonnatapayodharām।kapālakartṛkāhastāṁ paramajyotirūpiṇīm॥vāmadakṣiṇa yogena dhyāyenmantraviduttamam।īṣathāsya samāyuktāṁ nīlamegha samaprabhām॥Translation:The highest knower of the mantra (i.e the Tantrik adept) should meditate on this Goddess through the yoga of the Left and Right as follows:Seated on a corpse, dressed in red, adorned with red ornaments, garlanded in poisonous flowers/seeds, a young woman of sixteen with comely breasts, holding a sword and skull-bowl, whose form is the supreme light (of consciousness), endowed with a subtle smile, radiant like a storm cloud.Meditate on Mā, perform mental worship and then offer an already offered flower saying,OM jyeṣṭhamātaṅgi namāmi ucchiṣṭacaṇḍālini trailokyavaśaṅkari svāhāidaṁ nirmālyapuṣpādikam ucchiṣṭacaṇḍālinyai namaḥ ।Translation:To the eldest Mātaṅgī, I bow.To the fierce Ucchiṣṭa Caṇḍālinī—the outcaste goddess who sanctifies impurity, who enchants and subjugates the three worlds—I offer myself with these leftover flowers and all their fragrance.Svāhā!All this is offered to You, O Ucchiṣṭa Caṇḍālinī—salutations!"and then place some offered food on mandala saying:oṁ lehyacoṣyānnapānādi tāmbūlamanulepanam।nirmālyaṁ bhojanaṁ tubhyaṁ dadāmi śrīśivājñayā॥These foods and drinks as well as the tambulam and fragrant pastes that have already been touched by the tongue, this leftover (sullied) food I offer to you by the command of Lord Shiva!Lectures happen live every Monday at 7pm PST and Friday 10am PST and again Friday at 6pm PST.Use this link and I will see you there:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815For more videos, guided meditations and instruction and for access to our lecture library, visit me at:https://www.patreon.com/yogawithnishTo get in on the discussion and access various spiritual materials, join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/U8zKP8yMrMSupport the show

Is Time An Illusion? Is time an illusion? There are several different ways we can approach this question. We can look at mythology into the stories of Kronos, also known as Saturn and Father Time, as well as the Hindu Goddess Kali, who ruled over power, destruction and time. Which can then prompt us into looking at the Hindu belief of the Kali Yuga, the fourth and last world age in a Yuga cycle that deals with sin and destruction. Perhaps we might be more inclined to take a look at time in a more scientific manner through Einstein's theory of relativity. Or to better help us understand the concept of time we can take the Esoteric approach, which happens to be my favorite. In any case, the short answer to whether or not time is an illusion is both yes and no. Listen and join us to go down this profound rabbit hole as we explore the topic of time. The Fibonacci Sequence The Fibonacci Sequence is a series of numbers that are a result from adding the sum to the preceding number. For example 0+1=1; 1+1=2; 1+2=3; 2+3=5; 3+5=8; 5+8=13 and so on. The Golden Ratio is when we divide those Fibonacci numbers (Ex: 5/3= 1.6 and/or 8/5=1.6) to get that ratio of 1:1.6. When applied as a growth factor it creates a "Golden Spiral" and creates sacred geometry. It can be found everywhere in the universe, you cannot escape it! The universe doesn't use language to communicate with us it uses symbols and patterns. Join us and listen for a more detailed explanation. Yugas When it comes to the subject of time, you have the Western point of view and you have the Eastern point of view. In the west the majority of people perceive time as liner; meaning you have a past, present and future. In the East, time is viewed in terms of cycles in the human collective consciousness. Therefore, in Hinduism the idea of time and eternity are broken down into four (4) cycles known as the Yugas. The first and longest lasting cycle is known as the Satya Yuga, followed by Treta Yuga, next Dwapar Yuga and lastly the fourth and shortest cycle known as the Kali Yuga. Located in the Raigarh district of Maharashtra, Ballaleshwar is considered to be the third among the Ashtavinayaka. The shape of this temple is in the shape of "Shri", with big ponds on both sides. According to mythology, there lived a Seth couple named Kalyan and Indumati in the village of Pali. Their only sonBallal was a great devotee of Bhagwan Ganesha. Seth was not happy with his devotion, because his son, engrossed in devotion, did not take any special interest in business. Once Kalyan Seth angrily went out to look for Ballal, he was found in the forest worshiping Ganesha. He beat him severely and pushed him and also broke the idol of Ganesha. Seth tied him to a tree in the forest and left him saying that after being hungry and thirsty, his wisdom would come. After Seth's departure, Shri Ganesha, pleased with Ballal's devotion, appeared before him as a Brahmin. Ballal asked him to free him from bondage and asked for a boon.As a boon, Ballal requested him to establish himself in his area. Shri Ganesha fulfilled his wish and installed himself in a stone idol and then the Ballal Vinayak temple was built at that place. According to another belief, the place of Treta Yuga named Dandakaranya was here and it is here that Adishakti Jagadamba had appeared to Shri Ram. At a distance from there is the place where the war between Ravana and Jatayu took place at the time of Sitaharan.   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Bhagwan Ganapati or Ganesha is one of the most worshipped deities in India. According to the legend, in the Treta Yuga, a boy named Ballal was born to a businessman named Kalyan and his wife Indumati. The boy was an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha and usually worshiped stones as the Lord along with his friends. One day, when he was roaming in the forests, he saw a huge stone. He decorated the stone and worshiped the stone after idolizing it as Lord Ganesha. Ballal and his friends were so engrossed in the devotion that they forgot to return to their homes. The parents complained to Kalyan about Ballal. Kalyan in his anger caught hold of Ballal and tied him to a tree. He was also beaten up badly. However, Ballal continued his worship. Lord Ganesha was impressed and gave him darshan as a Brahmin. Since then, the Lord came to be known as Ballal Vinayak or the Eeshwar (Lord) of Ballal. The word Ashtvinayaka is a Sanskrit word that means Eight Ganeshas. These eight temples are located in different places, and all of them are considered ‘Swayambhu' or self-originated. These deities are “jagrut,” which means they fulfill the wishes of their devotees. Learn more about your ad choices. We learned recently on the podcast that knowledge is structured in consciousness. From this we can deduce that our understanding of Veda is dependent on our level of consciousness. It's not just our intellectual understanding though, it's also our ability to ‘perceive' Veda. One example of this is the perception of ‘Yugas,' epochs or periods of time that are referenced frequently in the various Vedic texts. When taken at face value, these Yugas appear to be linear periods, happening in a particular sequence, but, as Thom explains in this episode, there is more to the Yugas than meets the eye…NB - At the conclusion of the episode you will find mention of Thom's popular course, Exploring the Veda - You can find teachers facilitating this course around the world at this link - https://thomknoles.com/vedic-meditation-teacher-directory/. [00:00:56] What are the Yugas?[00:03:21] Veda Cannot Be Deeply Understood by English Alone.[00:05:33] Four Major Divisions of Veda[00:07:52] Ritambhara Pragya[00:09:44] Awakening the Sequential Elaboration of Sound[00:12:30] Chronology of the Yugas[00:14:17] Divisions and Subdivisions of Veda[00:16:39] Veda of the Treta Yuga[00:17:54] Dwapara Yuga - Home of the Great Epics of India[00:20:08] The Yuga Cycle[00:22:14] The Vedic Idea of Time[00:23:53] The Linear Approach to Understanding the Yugas[00:26:02] Satya Yuga — The Age of Truth[00:27:47] Ayurveda - Self Healthcare[00:29:03] Gandharva Veda - The Sound Dynamic[00:30:48] Dhanur Veda - The Supreme Arts of Governance[00:31:56] Sthapatya Veda - Science of Architecture[00:34:17] The Treta Yuga Layer of Human Consciousness[00:35:32] The Dwapara Yuga Layer of Human Consciousness[00:36:15] The Fall From the Status Quo[00:38:05] The Saw-toothed Evolutionary Process[00:39:00] Understanding the Pattern[00:40:16] Trapped in Kali Yuga[00:41:07] The World of Constant Change[00:41:46]  Escaping Kali Yuga Through Vedic Meditation[00:43:50]  The Purpose of Vedic Meditation[00:45:00] More Than a Bunch of Fairy Tales[00:46:02] Exploring the Veda - Course Available Worldwide Useful Linksinfo@thomknoles.com https://thomknoles.com/https://www.instagram.com/thethomknoles/https://www.facebook.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.youtube.com/c/thomknoles https://thomknoles.com/ask-thom-anything/

There are a few places in India which are reported to be quiet ancient, some of them to Billion years! And these have been dated scientifically. For example Thiruvannamalai 3.94 billion years, Thirupati 2100 million years. Please read my posts on these places and more places similar to them. And now there is an addition to this list. The Temple for Vishnu at Srirangam ,is reported to be built by Rama, though many state that it was built earlier. This period belongs to Treta Yuga, some 4,32,000 ago according to Indian Texts. Historical dating of Lord Rama is around 5114 BC. We may safely state that Srirangam belongs to 5114 BC, if not earlier. References are found in Indian Texts that there is another temple which was built earlier by Lord Rama's ancestor, King Sibi. The same Sibi is mentioned as the one who parted with his Flesh to feed a Dove. This has been mentioned in Tamil Sangam Literature, which is dated around 3000 BC. But  the date of Sangam literature is pushed back by at least by 20,000 subsequent finding of the ruins of Poompuhar,Tamil Nadu. Poompuhar's period was much later than Sangam period! The Tamil Cholas are referred to as the descendants of Ikshvaku Clan,to which Lord Rama belonged. So the refernce to a temple earlier to that of Srirangam gains credibility. The Temple of Pundarikaksha(Vishnu) is mentioned in Sangam Classics and also referred to in King Rajaraja's inscriptions. Thiruvellarai is about 19 km from Srirangam and bus facilities are available. Nearest Airport.  Thiruchirapalli. Railway Station. Thiruchirapalli/Srirangam. It is recorded in Srimad Bhagavadham that Rakshsas of the South,Rakshasa being a powerful race mostly settled in now sunk Lemuria, were inciting rebellion in the south of King Sibi's Kingdom. Sibi proceeded with his army to annihilate the Rakshasas but was thwarted by a wild Boar(Swetha Varaha, an Avatar of Lord Vishnu). Sage Markandeya who was in meditation there advised Sibi that Sibi's descendent (Rama)would take care of the Rakshasas and Sibi should build  temple for Vishnu and have His darshan. This Sibi did and this is the Thiruvellarai temple. Temple timings. 6 to 12 noon. 4 pm to 8 pm. Contact. -8th chapter: verses 17, 18, 19, 20, 21-The lecture was given by Swami Tattwamayananda on May 14, 2021.-17th verse deals with the Hindu concept of Cosmogony, according to which cosmic movement is in rhythmic cycles.-According to Yuga theory, there are four Yugas - Satya, Dvapara, Treta and Kali Yuga. Satya Yuga is 1 million and 28,000 years. Treta Yuga is 1 million and 3,000 years. Dwapara Yuga is 854,000 years. Kali Yuga is 429,000 years. These four Yugas together constitute a Mahayuga, and 1000 Mahayugas constitute a Kalpa. One full day and night of Brahma is equal to 2000 yugas. At Pralaya, these four Yugas get dissolved.-The theme of verses 17-21 is the following. Cyclicism applies to both human life and the cosmos. Just as the tree exists in a seed in an involved (unmanifested) state, similarly, the cosmos comes from a state of non-manifestation to a state of manifestation. After many years, it goes back to its unmanifested state. After trillions of years, manifestation begins again. This goes on in cycles. The manifested (Vyakta) and unmanifested (Avyakta) belong to the realm of the relative. Beyond these, there is the unmanifested reality that is Aksharam (imperishable) and Sanatana (eternal).-There are three schools of thought on cause-effect relationship in Indian philosophy. According to Sanghatavada, things come into existence when different parts come together. For example, a chair comes into existence by combining several parts. According to Arambhavada, every effect is a new creation, and the effect does not pre-exist in the cause (Asatkaryavada). For example, a cloth made of threads has a new existence that is different from the threads. According to Vedanta and Bhagavad Gita, the effect pre-exists in the cause (Satkaryavada). For example, the cloth pre-exists in the thread – it just gets a new name and form.-Our life begins long before we are born, and our life will continue long after we are dead. Life is only a transition. We continue going through these revolving cycles, until we realize the supreme truth, that we are one with the supreme reality that does not belong to the realm of the relative.-17th and 18th verses: “The whole cosmos exists in two states – the undifferentiated (Avyakta) and differentiated (Vyakta) – both these states belong to the relative. The differentiated state will go back to the undifferentiated state. When the day of Brahma begins, creation begins. When the day of Brahma ends, dissolution takes place.”-The day of Brahma represents the cosmic mind. Creation is symbolically compared to the dawn of the cosmic mind. Dissolution of the created universe corresponds to the sunset of the cosmic mind.-The universe has two dimensions – Vyakta and Avyakta. The earth evolved into a state (Vyakta) where living conditions became appropriate for living creatures to evolve and survive. These living conditions may disappear after millions of years - the earth will then merge back to its unmanifested state (Avyakta).-19th verse: “The same variety of different beings that existed in the preceding day of Brahma, they merge when the night comes. And then they manifest again at daybreak – the morning of Brahma’s day.”-20th and 21st verse: “Beyond this Avyakta (unmanifested) and Vyakta (manifested), which belong to the realm of the relative, there is the one Absolute Reality which is different from the unmanifested state of the relative – it is Aksharam (imperishable) and it is Sanatana (eternal). Those who realize their spiritual identity with this Supreme Reality, they get liberation from this cyclic rotation”-Everything moves in cycles – both in human life and in the cosmos. In human life, there is a cause and effect link between our lives. When a person dies, the senses of perception and action disappear, but the samskaras transmigrate in seed form, and manifest in the next life. At the Cosmic level, from the Avyakta state, the Vyakta state comes. The same Vyakta state later goes back to the Avyakta state. The causal dimension is Avyakta. The effect dimension is Vyakta.-When we are in the realm of the relative, we think that time and space are eternal. Only when we get out of the relative, we realize that time and space are relative. With spiritual practices, we can transcend the relative.-Silence is the language of the highest spiritual experience. Sri Ramakrishna said that one has to come down several steps from the highest state of samadhi to Omkara, then several steps down to Gayatri, and then several steps down to Vedas. One issue which, for quite some time has escaped scrutiny was the dating of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Some of my popular posts on Ramayana Dates were written about two years ago. Now one of the readers, Mr.Pradeep Singh caught the point when he sent in a comment. ” PRADEEP SINGH 3h Following Suggest changing dates as it conflicts scientific evidence. As you know that Dwarika is about 35000 yrs old per carbon dating and saraswati river carbon dating also do not infer what you are saying dates for Ramayan. I suggest you do more research and change dates. ALSO Look at Purans, bhavisya puran. People read your views so I am concerned that many people will get wrong message.” Yes Mr,Pradeep Singh, the omission was deliberate and am happy that you caught it. Let me explain. The four Yuga Details. SATYA YUGA – (sometimes also called krta-yuga): the golden age lasts 1,728,000 years. TRETA YUGA – also called the silver age, lasts 1,296,000 years. DVAPARA YUGA – or the bronze age, lasts 864,000 years. KALI YUGA – the iron age of hypocrisy and quarrel lasts 432,000 years. Ramayana took place in Treta Yuga. “Kali yuga starts on the day of SREE KRISHNA PARAMATHMA'S departure to Vykunda, & Lord's departure was 5111years back,(from 2009) SREE RAMAVATHAR was at the 2nd half of Thretha yuga therefore RAMAYANA was happened before 8,69,111years ago Source:   Astrological magazine of B.V. Raman (1971, february edition).” So the Ramayana date should be around 8, 69,000 back. Now on to Ramayana dates. Rama Sethu. The Adams; Bridge connecting India at Rameswaram and Sri Lanka. ” Sri Lanka may not be an Island nation after all – a chain of limestone shoals called Ram Setu or Pamban Bridge remains faint evidence to the former land connection between the Mannar islands of northwestern Sri Lanka and Rameswaram in the Indian southwestern coast. The 3 ft to 30 ft depth of the sea surrounding this 30 miles (48 km) long bridge is not good enough to allow proper navigation. Earlier there used to be a regular ferry service between Talaimannar of Sri Lanka and Rameswaram of India, which is currently withheld due to the continuing civil disorder within Lanka. The first mention of this reportedly man-made bridge was found in the accounts of Ibn Khordadbeh in his Book of Roads and Kingdoms. Since then, it has been attributed with several names like Set Bandhai, meaning ‘Bridge of the Sea‘, Rama's Bridge and Adam's Bridge. The Islamic legends state that it was used by Adam to traverse the route to Adam's Peak in Sri Lanka to repent for 1000 years, during which he kept standing on one foot. This perhaps explains the large footprint hollow you can find on the Peak. On the other hand, the Indian or rather the Hindu legend behind this superbly curved sandstone bridge relates it to the epic Ramayana. Accordingly, it is deemed to be built by the ‘vanara sena' (monkey army) of the glorious incarnation of Shri Rama, the hero of the epic, to rescue his holy wife Sita from the clutches of Ravana, who ruled over Lanka. The radiocarbon dating of the bridge verges on around 1,750,000 years, which roughly coincides with the Indian estimate of the mythical ‘Treta Yuga'. The space footages of the Ram Setu provided by NASA has neither confirmed nor rejected these controversial claims. Contrary to the Vaishnava News Network's insistence on the Rama legend, after taking its 2002 remote sensing images, NASA simply stated that the much-hyped bridge was only a naturally formed chain of shoals and refused to comment on the possible human involvement in its construction” Rama's Birth Date: “This planetary configuration was prevailing on the January 5, 5089 BC, and it was on this day that Shri Ram left Ayodhya for 14 years of exile.   Thus, he was 25 years old at that time (5114-5089).   There are several shlokas in Valmiki Ramayana which indicate that Shri Rama. https://ramanisblog.in/2014/03/05/ramayana-scientific-dating-wrong/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message

Some central thoughts in Sanatana Dharma, Hinduism, remain firm. One is that there is no difference between Hari and Hara  and they are quite close. As an evidence of this Lord Shiva's Marriage  with Parvati was conducted specially for Lord Vishnu. The Marriage Ceremonial fire still burns. Scroll down for Video. The marriage is between Shiva and Parvati, the Homa kunda is for their marriage. Yet the Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu!   Triyuginarayan Temple (Sanskrit: त्रियुगी-नारायण) is a Hindu temple located in the Triyuginarayan village in Rudraprayag district,Uttarakhand. The ancient temple is dedicated to god Vishnu. Its fame is credited to the legend of god Shiva's marriage to goddessParvati witnessed by Vishnu at this venue and is thus a popular pilgrimage centre.[1][2] A special feature of this temple is a perpetual fire, that burns in front of the temple. The flame is believed to burn from the times of the divine marriage.[3] Thus, the temple is also known as Akhand Dhuni temple. The temple courtyard is also the source of a water stream, which fills four sacred bathing ponds (kunds) nearby.   The word “Triyugi Narayan” is formed of three words “tri” means three, “yugi” denotes the period of time – Yuga and “Narayan” is another name of Vishnu. Pilgrims have been offering wood to the fire in the havana-kund (fireplace) since the three Yugas – hence the place is given the name “Triyugi Narayan”.[1] Yuga in Hindu philosophy is the name of an epoch or era within a cycle of four ages. The four Yugas are Satya Yuga (1,728,000 human years), Treta Yuga (1,296,000 years), the Dvapara Yuga (864,000 years) and finally Kali Yuga (432,000 years), which is the present Yuga. The name “Akhand Dhuni temple” also originates from the eternal flame legend, “Akhand” means perpetual and “Dhuni” means flame… According to Hindu mythology, goddess Parvati was daughter of Himavat or Himavan – the personification of the Himalayas. She was the rebirth of Sati, the first wife of Shiva – who sacrificed her life when her father insulted Shiva. Parvati initially tried to allure Shiva by her beauty, but fails. Finally, she won Shiva by practising rigorous penance at Gauri Kund, which is 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from Triyuginarayan. Pilgrims visiting Triyuginaryan temple also visit the Gauri Kund temple, dedicated to Parvati. Mythology states that Shiva proposed to Parvati at Guptakashi (on the road to Kedarnath) before they got married in the small Triyuginarayan village at the confluence of Mandakini and Sone-Ganga rivers. Triyuginarayan is believed to be the capital of Himavat. It was the venue of the celestial marriage of Shiva and Parvati, during the Satya Yuga, witnessed in the presence of the holy fire that still burns eternally in front of the temple in a Havana-kund or Agni-kund, a four-cornered fireplace on the ground. Vishnu formalized the wedding and acted as Parvati's brother in the ceremonies, while the creator-godBrahma acted as the priest of the wedding, that was witnessed by all the sages of the times. The exact location of the wedding is marked by a stone called Brahma Shila, in front of the temple. The greatness of this place is also recorded in a sthala-purana (a scripture specific to a pilgrimage centre). According to the scripture, pilgrims who visit this temple consider the ashes from the burning fire as holy and carry it with them. It is also believed that ashes from this fire are supposed to promote conjugal bliss. Before the marriage ceremony, the gods are believed to have taken bath in three kunds or small ponds namely, Rudra-kund, Vishnu-kund and Brahma-kund. The inflow into the three kunds is from the Saraswati-kund, which – according to legend – originated from Vishnu's navel. Hence, the water of these kunds is considered to cure infertility. The ashes from Havana-kund are supposed to promote conjugal bliss. https://ramanisblog.in/2015/04/07/shivas-marriage-fire-still-burns-triyuginarayan-temple/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message

In episode six of Very Vedic — season one’s final episode — Matt’s student Anna asks for the Vedic view on Australia’s catastrophic bushfire season. She identifies it as Destruction, one of the three underlying forces that control all things, but how do we even begin to accept that there’s a bigger reason for all of this when people and animals are dying?Matt shares one interpretation from the Vedic view, with the utmost respect for the lives, homes and land lost. And that’s that Destruction isn’t inherently evil. Its purpose is to create more space for more creation to come. What he explains in this episode, is that Nature would like us to learn and evolve through consciousness and connection. And what does Nature need in order to teach us? Our attention. And how does it get our attention? Obvious, dramatic and even painful events that wake us up to what we’re doing wrong. From the Vedic view, the world is always in one of four stages (or ages, or yugas) — Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga. Right now we’re in Kali Yuga, which is the age of ignorance.Matt gives this context to explain why the majority of our current culture is fixed in a pursuit of external power, acquired by dominating and manipulating Nature. This creates imbalances and makes Nature scream. Nature's cries become harder and harder to avoid. It is trying to force us into a higher state of consciousness and acknowledge the inter-relatedness of all things. So right now with Australia’s catastrophic bushfire season, we’re becoming aware that the behaviour of the world is unsustainable. This in itself is a triggering point for a lot of people — that if we have this broader perspective about catastrophes or death, that we are callous or lack compassion. But the very fact that we’re aware of what’s at play, means we are participating with Nature through acceptance. And it is through acceptance that we move towards evolution and better things. Matt explains that this is humanity sitting in its inherent power.Would you like to hear a second season of Very Vedic? Earlier this year, Andrew and CK ventured to sunny California for the Conference of Procession and Ancient Knowledge. The two spent three days locked in a room with many of the brightest minds within the scientific community and mind-bending conversation after mind-bending conversation left them reeling for more. This week's episode of Lost Origins has been a long time coming. This is the first official installment of the CPAK episodes and we kick it off with a bang by interviewing Joseph Selbie. Did ancient man have a higher sense of consciousness and a more thorough understanding of reality than our current model? If you have jumped down the rabbit hole that is the Yuga Cycle, you may have your own opinions around this. Yuga in Hinduism is an epoch or era within a four-age cycle. A complete Yuga starts with the Satya Yuga, via Treta Yuga and Dvapara Yuga into a Kali Yuga. Some scholars say that our present time is ascending Kali Yuga, while some scholars say that Kali Yuga has ended in 1700 A.D. and now we're in ascending Dwapara Yuga.Joseph Selbie is the author of The Physics of God. An avid follower of the unfolding new paradigms of science, he is known for creating bridges of understanding between the modern evidenced-based discoveries of science and the ancient experience-based discoveries of the mystics. Joseph is also the co-author of The Yugas, a factual look at Yukteswar’s description of the cycle of the ages.A dedicated Kriya meditator for nearly 50 years, he has taught yoga and meditation throughout the US and Europe, helping people to understand and find their own spiritual potential—and helping them understand how the expression of their spiritual potential ushers into the world an unstoppable wave of peaceful consciousness. He is a founding member of Ananda, a world-wide spiritual movement. Joseph has been with Ananda since 1975 and has served in a wide variety of roles including IT Director, Ananda Village Community Manager, Lightbearer, and spearhead for Ananda’s work in Europe and Seattle. Joseph is the author of other books exploring how spirituality connects with culture and science, including a sci/fi fantasy series, The Protectors Diaries, inspired by the abilities of mystics. He is currently working on a new book, The Psychology of God, an exploration of the intersections of psychology and neuroscience with higher consciousness.

Student Comment: So just to clarify, the sexuation trauma has been the central trauma and that we’ve sought—through chakra two—the perfect love relationship to heal it, for the past two thousand years. So, essentially, it has been the trauma of the second half of Kali Yuga. “Once the identity became based on the body instead of based on Spirit; that’s the shift that happens in Kali Yuga. Before Kali Yuga, you are a Spirit who has a soul and a body, that’s in Treta [Yuga]. In Dwapar Yuga, you’re a soul that has a Spirit and a body. Then in Kali Yuga, you’re a body that in the beginning has a soul and Spirit, but then only has a soul, and then eventually you're only a body. That’s the way we are now and it has been for the last several hundred years, at least in the West where there’s a total materialism. . . . Once Spirit, which is the source of love, has been cut off, and the soul, which is the depth dimension of the human being has been cut off, then you're just a surface ego. And what do you have to give?” Recorded on the afternoon of Saturday, December 12, 2009.
