(Sri Guru Granth Sahib Page 479 Sabad 1230)
Livro: https://amzn.to/3V3Xbzt Twitter e insta: @termineicast

In this episode, I speak with Malini Kannan, CEO Office of Thunes, a global B2B cross-border payments infrastructure company. Malini grew up in India and started her career in Singapore, working in research and strategy across a diverse set of sectors. After her MBA from INSEAD, Malini focused more directly on the fintech space, working across the industry and landing at TransferTo, which incubated the business that eventually become Thunes. At Thunes, Malini has covered every aspect of the business - starting as a Strategy & Operations Manager, moving up to COO, and now she leads the CEO Office. Thunes was originally founded in 2016 under TransferTo, which focused on cross-border airtime top-ups and other value-added services. TransferTo rebranded as DT One, where Thunes was incubated. Since then, Thunes has grown into one of the largest and most well-known B2B payments companies in Singapore. They now serve customers in more than 130 countries, have offices in 20 cities, and have closed their $72M USD Series C funding round in July 2023. Corruption Plots: Stories, Ethics, and Publics of the Late Capitalist City (Cornell UP, 2023) illuminates how corruption is fundamental to global storytelling about how states and elites abuse entrusted power in late capitalism. The millennial city of the global South is a charged setting for allegations of corruption, with skyscrapers, land grabs, and slum evictions invoking outrage at deepening economic polarization. Drawing on ethnography in Bengaluru and Mumbai and a cross-section of literary and cinematic stories from cities around the world, Malini Ranganathan, David L. Pike, and Sapana Doshi pay close attention to the racial, caste, class, and gender locations of the narrators, spaces, and publics imagined to be harmed by corruption. Corruption Plots demonstrates how corruption talk is leveraged to make sense of unequal spatial change and used opportunistically by those who are themselves implicated in wrongdoing. Offering a wide-ranging analysis of urban worlds, the authors reveal the ethical, spatial, and political stakes of storytelling and how vital it is to examine the corruption plot in all its contradictions. For many centuries, Hindu temples and shrines have been of great importance to South Indian religious, social and political life. Aside from being places of worship, they are also pilgrimage destinations, centres of learning, political hotspots, and foci of economic activities. In these temples, not only the human and the divine interact, but they are also meeting places of different members of the communities, be they local or coming from afar. Hindu temples do not exist in isolation, but stand in multiple relationships to other temples and sacred sites. They relate to each other in terms of architecture, ritual, or mythology, or on a conceptual level when particular sites are grouped together. Especially in urban centres, multiple temples representing different religious traditions may coexist within a shared sacred space. Temples, Texts, and Networks: South Indian Perspectives (HASP, 2022) pays close attention to the connections between individual Hindu temples and the affiliated communities, be it within a particular place or on a trans-local level. These connections are described as temple networks, a concept which instead of stable hierarchies and structures looks at nodal, multi-centred, and fluid systems, in which the connections in numerous fields of interaction are understood as dynamic processes. Raj Balkaran is a scholar of Sanskrit narrative texts. He teaches at the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies and at his own virtual School of Indian Wisdom. For information see rajbalkaran.com. In this episode of the Thriving Christian Artist podcast, I talk with my new friend Mary Malini about her incredible journey of overcoming obstacles and following the call of God in her life. Starting out in a small town in India, Mary's education took her to a 12-year career in mass communication and television production - but her love of dance and art never left her heart. In time, she felt the insistent pull of the Lord leading her to a whole new season in her life of pursuing her art. By faithfully surrendering to God's will, she was empowered to turn her talents at painting and driftwood sculpture into a successful art business. In our talk, Mary shares how some divine appointments (and a couple of my books!) led her to discover her unique design and how that led her to pursue her passion for art full-time. If you're struggling to navigate through transitions, find your identity and purpose, or gather the courage to take hold of opportunities that come along, Mary's story is going to really resonate with you. One of our favorites from the past year, our interview with Malini Agarwal.....We're talking to a media mogul!! Malini Agarwal, aka MissMalini, is India's most famous blogger with a following of 7.5 million worldwide. We start out talking about how her "diplobrat" life growing up has helped shape her into the women she is today. Malini discusses living through a civil war in Lebanon, how her mom has been her rock and champion FOMO queen, and what led her to the City of Dreams. She tells me why radio is still her favorite medium, the bucket list of 24, her book, To The Moon: How I Blogged My Way To Bollywood, and some epic stories that you can only experience in Mumbai. We of course dive into her best and worst interviews, what it is really like to work with her husband, and her plan to shed light and start conversations around cyber bullying and sexual harassment in India with #ignorenomore. Malini is a staunch supporter of women supporting women, as can been seen with MissMalini's Girl Tribe, and she tells me what she regrets the most throughout her legendary journey. And guys, there's so much more....
We discuss the industries and practices that have been the subject of recent FTC enforcement focus, including: marketing, servicing, and collection practices involving small business financing such as merchant cash advances; auto add-on product sales practices; product endorsements and reviews; dark patterns; marketing practices of for-profit schools; lead generation; and COVID fraud. We also discuss the role of the FTC's Holder Rule in consumer transactions, the impact of the SCOTUS AMG Management decision on FTC enforcement strategy, including the use of Notices of Penalty Offenses, and likely key agenda items under FTC Chair Lina Khan. Alan Kaplinsky, Ballard Spahr Senior Counsel, hosts the conversation.
