Steve and Izzy from EILFM (Everything I Learned from Movies) join Bobby and Mike to discuss the Albert Pyun "classic" that he apparently filmed, dumped off to an editor, and never looked at again. An all female rock band gets the gig of a lifetime, they just have to fly across the galaxy to get there, that sounds fun... right? There has to be SOME fun in this movie... right? There has to be a movie in here... right? Find out on this episode of the bin!

An all-girl rock band in the future must make it across the galaxy for a high-end gig; sounds like the perfect set-up for a cult movie doesn't it? But Albert Pyun's barely-released VICIOUS LIPS from 1987 has much weirder ideas in store. We dig into the production with returning guest Doug McCambridge, who helps us try to make sense of all the catfighting, big wigs, and bizarre plot developments.  Hosted by Jarrod Hornbeck and Steve Guntli  Theme song by Kyle Hornbeck  Logo by Doug McCambridge  Email: puppetmasterscastlefreaks@gmail.com Instagram/Threads: @puppetmasters_castlefreaks  YouTube: @PuppetMastersCastleFreaks  Next week's episode: Assault of the Killer Bimbos

We here at Cinema Degeneration thought it was time for another Appreciation Month topic!  We bring to you a celebration of the life and career of the late great filmmaker Mr. Albert Pyun.  Pyun was a maverick director with over 50 directing credits to his resume before he passed away unfortunately in late 2022. Often operating well outside the studio system Pyun delivered films the only way he knew how...his way.  We are continuing the adventures and our 5th episode with a true obscurity in Pyun's filmography with the 1986 science fiction rock opera "VICIOUS LIPS", starring Dru-Anne Perry, Gina Calabrese, Linda Kerridge, Shayne Ferris, Anthony Kentz, and Christian Andrews as Milo the Venusian Beast!  This odd sci-fi tale set sometime in the distant future, a punk rock band gets the gig of a lifetime on a faraway planet if they can only make it to the club in one piece.  Join our hosts Rebecca Rinehart and Cameron Scott as they discuss this rockin' chapter of Pyun's epic film history that is filled with junk space ships, desolate planets, seedy nightblubs, desert sirens, a manaical killer, and a wild ending that must be seen to be believed!  Join us for an intense celebration of the expansive Pyuniverse!   "The communicator's destructo babe".

Due to some time constraints this month Lee's back with a slightly shorter show than usual. This time out he's compiled an addendum to the previous episode, which was about fictional bands and solo artists featured in films. This list was all taken from the list of tracks he had to cut from the original over-stuffed track list for that episode. Hot ladies! Cool tunes! Hairspray! Sand dunes! This week's episode is one Scott has long awaited and finally found a copy to inflict upon his cohosts - VICIOUS LIPS (1986). Admittedly, this is a bad movie, but dang it's got a lot to love in the first and third act... it's just that pesky middle half hour with the killer alien chasing everyone around a spaceship that mucks up what could've been a cult classic. This is why humanity created the fast forward button (which is really an anachronistic joke since we all just click further in the stream anymore anyway). Acomi and Turk182 fluff up their feather pillows and settle into their nests to watch Howard the Duck (1986). A favorite movie of Acomi's, and requested by one of the podcast's listeners. The adaptation was originally conceived by George Lucas, who served as producer instead of director. Claiming to be a fan of the comic book, he was okay with the character's personality being changed, along with the tone of the movie; resembling very little of the comic book source material. The movie became something for children, instead of surrealist, satire for adults. Jar Jar, anyone? An anthropomorphic duck man from another planet, is brought to Earth and becomes the manager of an up and coming all-female rock band in the 1980s. How could this have possibly gone wrong! Vicious Lips, on Earth with a talking duck manager??? Seriously??? Howard the Duck could have redeemed the the non-related female rocker movie on spec. It's Thanksgiving! Be happy? Well it's a 2020 Thanksgiving and we are celebrating by watching depressing stuff. Purely by accident. For example Jimmy chose something called The Dark and the Wicked, which is in fact dark and wicked. Greg spent some time learning about all the atrocities of World War 2, and Rob, would have probably preferred that over the poorly made Dragon's Dogma. But remember, angry Rob is funny Rob.  Next Monday, check out side B when we cover Vicious Lips, an 80's space hair metal adventure from 1986. There is so much happening in the first 10 minutes that we no doubt missed a lot.
