Brian interviews Donna Besel. Donna is the author of “The Unravelling” a brave, riveting telling of the destruction caused by sexual assault within a family, and the physical, psychological, emotional, financial, and legal tolls survivors often shoulder. It's the antithesis of why a wedding should be memorable. In 1992, at a sister's nuptials, Donna Besel's family members discovered that their father, Jock Tod, had molested their youngest sister. After this disclosure, the other five sisters admitted their father had assaulted them when they were younger and had been doing so for years. Despite there being enough evidence to charge their father, the lengthy prosecution rocked Besel's family and deeply divided their small rural community. Donna Besel offers an honest portrayal of the years-long police process from disclosure to prosecution that offers readers greater insight into the challenges victims face and the remarkable strength and resilience required to obtain some measure of justice. To wrap up the show, Brian shares an interview he recently had with Julia Vellucci for "Voices Behind the Mic", a special program which recently aired on Sauga 960 AM.

Brian interviews Journalist Kathleen Lippa. Kathleen has written "Arctic Predator: The Crimes of Edward Horne Against Children in Canada's North". After years of research, Kathleen has written about the shocking crimes of trusted teacher Ed Horne who wrought lasting damage on Inuit communities in Canada's Arctic. In the 1970s, a young schoolteacher from British Columbia was becoming the darling of the Northwest Territories education department with his dynamic teaching style. He was learning to speak the local language, Inuktitut, something few outsiders did. He also claimed to be Indigenous — a claim that would later prove to be false. In truth, Edward Horne was a pedophile who sexually abused his male students. To wrap up the show, Brian shares an interview he recently had with Julia Vellucci for "Voices Behind the Mic", a special program which recently aired on Sauga 960 AM.

In this episode, Tera sits down with trauma-informed coach Echo Vetter to unpack something most of us were never taught—how to process anger in a healthy way. Echo breaks down the difference between core anger and secondary anger, why we misdefine it, and how it actually exists to protect us. She explains how unprocessed anger lives in the body, often showing up as chronic pain, stress, or emotional shutdown, and shares practical ways to reconnect with ourselves so we stop resisting our own energy. Phyllis opens up about her personal journey of storing anger for decades, the toll it's taken on her health, and the fear that facing it might damage her closest relationships. Echo offers powerful insight on how we can rewire the way we relate to anger—so instead of being afraid of it, we learn to partner with it and let it fuel the change we need.Links and Resources: Book a discovery call for Overwhelm Overhaul: https://calendly.com/tera-wages/30min  To download the Core Emotion Wheel: https://connectioncodes.co/wheel  To enroll in Foundations use the code PODCAST for 20% off: https://connectioncodes.co/marriage-course-online  Book a coaching session with Dr. Glenn: https://connectioncodes.co/marriage-help (If links are not working, please copy and paste connectioncodes.co to your search bar and look through our site menu!)_________________________________________________________________Connect with Echo Hill Vetter: Echo Hill Vetter's Substack | Letters from Nashville: https://substack.com/@echohillvetter   Echo on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/echohillvetter  Schedule 1:1 Coaching or Group Coaching with Echo: https://calendly.com/echohillvetter  Echo's LinkTree: https://linktr.ee/echohillvetter Chapters: 00:00:00 - The Weight of Unprocessed Anger 00:00:37 - Who's in the Room? Queer kittens this episode is one for the books! This week we share sacred space with the host of  “A Little Juju Podcast w/ Juju Bae”.  Juju (She/her) is an Oshún Priestess, author, star on the Emmy/GLAAD nominated Hulu series “Living For The Dead”, and an all-around “bad bitch witch”.  In this episode, Juju discusses the impact of colonialism as a child growing up in Baltimore, and how de-colonizing her spiritual practices led her to find her voice.  She talks about her connection to her Ancestors, and how this has greatly impacted her wellness, her work as a healer and her role as an educator on spiritual traditions of the Black Diaspora. We also discuss her upcoming book, 'The Book of Juju: Africana Spirituality for Healing, Liberation, and Self-Discovery” aimed at empowering readers to engage with their ancestral spiritual practices in order to find healing, liberation and self-discovery.  Instagram | Podcast | Linktree | Website
