We are more than sinful, we were completely dead in our sin and transgressions. Jesus, not only gives us life, He gives us new mercy every single day. We are all covered in sin, guilt, and shame, but His mercy is so much more. He is rich in mercy, and He lavishes His love on us. That is who this Jesus is.WHO HE IS…. JESUS! (4) Easter at MandarinScripture: Ephesians 2.4; Ephesians 2.1-6; John 21.1-19Jesus turns graves into gardens. He is rich in mercy and lavishes us in His love.Take a moment and find rest in this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwX1f2gYKZ4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love that he had for us, made us alive with Christ.… - Ephesians 2.4* How should you respond to God, who is rich in mercy and lavish in love? * When have you experienced God turning a grave (pain; sorrow; betrayal; sin; shame; hurt) into a garden? Is that needed today... now…at this time? Meet Him in His mercy and through His lavish love.* Spend a few moments and move upstream from verse 4 and take in Ephesians 2.1-3. Speak with Jesus about your need for rich mercy and lavish love based on this scripture. Now, move upstream to verses 5 - 6 and be reminded of your position in Him. You have an abundance in Christ. He is good and you are His. Pause and worship! Return to Ephesians 2.4 and find rest in rich mercy and lavish love. As you leave this conversation, leave your grave clothes behind and walk into the gardens of purpose, passion and conviction that He has in store for you. Yes and Amen! But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three - sin, guilt, death - are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God! - 1 Corinthians 15.57 (MSG)
Here’s some interesting facts about kings: The title of “King” is an inherited position - it’s not earned or worked for, it’s a position that is bestowed on someone by birthright. It is a King’s responsibility to protect and defend the kingdom A King is expected to engage in offensive war against the enemies of the kingdom when the kingdom’s safety and peace is compromised A King has been granted divine power to carry out these tasks All of the the resources of the kingdom are at the King’s disposal to rule effectively. A King is still the King whether he’s in the throne room, lying in bed, walking in the garden, or going shopping. A King is still the King even if he doesn’t FEEL like he’s king that day A King knows he’s King, not because of his physical location, what he’s wearing or doing, but because it’s his WHO HE IS. Everything in his kingdom has to come under his rule and authority because of the POSITION HE HOLDS. In Romans 5:17 tells us that we are to "reign in life" which literally means as KINGS! In today's episode we go through the Word to find out more about this amazing position God has appointed us to, and how to REMEMBER and MAINTAIN our position!

Who He Is….The Heart of Jesus (1) Easter 2021Matthew 11.28-30The heart is the central animating feature of all that we are and all that we do. Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30 (CSB)* The one thing that we are to do, as His people is found in the first three words of the scripture. #1 - Come to me#2 - Repeat #1What do you think of when you hear the name Jesus? Do you know Him as loving. open. welcoming. kind. understanding. compassionate? His heart for you is gentle and humble. In what ways can you continuously ‘come to Jesus’?* The qualifying attribute of a person that is to come to him is to be weary and to be burdened. The minimum bar to be enfolded into the embrace and care of Jesus is to open yourself to Him. Spend some time in communion with your savior, taking steps of vulnerability with the one who is gentle and humble. Talk with Him about what is wearying you and what burdens your soul. * What do you gain in coming to Him? Rest. You find rest for your soul. His rest is a gift and not a transaction. Why is it important that you know the heart of Jesus? His yoke is kind and His burden is light. Happy Easter!

I AM In Matthews Gospel, it is written that Jesus asked His disciples, who do men say I AM? Consider this closely. Who is He? We know He is the Christ, the anointed of God. But what does this mean? In John’s Gospel’s Jesus begins to declare Himself, WHO HE IS. We know these as the I AM’s of JESUS. Listen to what He is saying, I AM. I AM the Bread of Life. Bread that we can live by is He Himself. This Bread originates out of Life. Unless I eat this bread, I have no life in me. I should immediately ask, how do I eat this bread. I receive that of Him. I believe it and take it unto myself, my heart, my soul. This is how I receive it. “He that believes on me has eternal life.” We receive from Him as we believe. Look at the illustration in John 17. John 7:38 Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’” 39 He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. We receive of Him as we believe on Him. This is a continued practice. While I receive Jesus as my Savior to become born again or saved as we call it, I must continue to eat His flesh and drink His Blood to grow up in Him in all things. As God shows me Christ by the Spirit, I must continue to eat of Him. This Bread that He is fills my soul, fills me. He is what I am hungry for. We who are hungry for righteousness must eat of Him. Think of this for a moment. We who are His have no righteousness at all. Many of us may feel unclothed or naked from righteousness. However, as I eat what the word declares of Him, by seeing Him by the Spirit of God, I become clothed in righteousness. This reality of being righteous becomes part of my being. As He is righteous so are we. We are what we eat. If we eat and dine of Him, righteousness, peace, and joy will become real in our souls. Christ being our righteousness will fill us and become substance to our souls and minds. Glory to God.

Join us for Day 29 of 30 days to embracing God's disruptions and detours; a preview of our new Bible study, The Mary Answer. Today's devotion is called, "Don't Forget the Because." You can find out how you can sign up for a free copy of our upcoming study and be a part of our launch team in the show notes. Day 29-Don’t Forget the Because (transcript & links) Read the Word: Habakkuk 3:17-19 Read today’s scriptures and take note of anything that catches your heart. What do you observe that God might want you to single out and pray about? Write down your observations. Dental work is my nemesis. I dread the appointment for days. I’ve never been a big fan of mouth pain. Even a routine cleaning throws me for a loop. I’ve always had a hard time remembering to floss. When I shared that with my dentist at an appointment, my dentist told me, oh, you don’t have to floss your teeth every day. Shocked at this new revelation of oral care, I answered, really? And he glibly answered, only the ones you want to keep. Knowing the “because” brings tasks and commands to life. Just telling me to floss every day for good mouth health, whatever that is, wasn’t very motivating. The because—you’re going to lose your teeth—was the clincher. In our journey to embrace the disruptions and detours God brings our way, we need to know the because to buy in. Some scholars believe that the short book of Habakkuk was written to prepare Israel for captivity by the Babylonians using a series of oracles. But at the end of this short three-chapter book, Habakkuk ends with a prayer that contains the three necessary declarations of making it through disruption with our faith strengthened: though, yet, and because. Though (v. 17): “though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls…” There is nothing good on this list, so we know the prophet is setting us up for how to deal with trouble--whatever is coming. Yet (v. 18): “yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” Now these two verses together represent a statement of faith about trouble. They are comforting. But they are also perplexing. How is this possible? Enter the because. Because (v. 19): “The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.” When you add the because, we understand that it is possible to rejoice in trouble. Not because of what we believe, but because of Who He Is. Friend, it’s one thing to know what the Bible promises, and another great thing to believe it’s true. But until we accept that this life of faith is only possible because of Who God is, we just have some promises on paper. They are true, because the one who promised is True. Never, ever forget the because. Wait in prayer: Is it possible that our faith can be in our faith and not in our God? If I just believe, it will be true? Confess to God that your faith is in Him, not in what you believe. Thank Him for his power at work within you, for his intervention of blessings and trouble in your life. Ask Him to help you see disruption for what it really is—an opportunity to get closer to Him. And ask Him to help you really believe that He is the because behind your faith. . Our faith should not merely be in what He can do but in WHO HE IS...! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/fitzgerald-johnson/support
God's name is more than just a descriptor, it's the truest thing about who He is. When God describes His character, it's more than just what He does or what He's like...it's WHO HE IS.
Are you white knuckling anything? For me it was the dentist. He had an emergency so I had to wait. I was in the dentist office for 3 1/2 hours. I white knuckled the whole 3 1/2 hours. It was awful. When I got home I was totally drained... but I learned Fear is the big deal, not the dentist. Maybe the dentist is no big deal for you… but the world around us is giving us dozens of reasons to be afraid. We’ve believed their reasons for being afraid. We have believed the lie that fear is normal! When we think it’s normal to be afraid the fear rages inside us instead of around us. Response to Fear Some people respond to fear with anger. And some retreat. Then there are times we do both. The paralyses of fear keep us from seeking answers, truth and peace. Fear of Man We think it’s NORMAL so we embrace the fear of man instead of humbling our hearts and walking in the fear of God, which by the way results in peace. REAL PEACE! The Answer In the previous teaching I shared Hebrews 10:36 NLT with you. The first part says, “Patient endurance is what you need now.” Maybe those words “patient endurance paint a picture of ”white knuckling” the entire experience like my trips to the dentist…. The truth is the exact opposite. God is inviting you into hope filled waiting. Waiting that is tied to the expectation of GREAT and PRECIOUS promises being fulfilled. Expectant waiting that is tied to the resources of Almighty God Who loves you beyond your ability to comprehend. Like a persistent little squirrel goes after the sunflower seeds in a bird feeder has one objective, please, please don’t forget there is a thief that has one objective… …one objective…your destruction. Why didn’t I recognize my fear and deal with it? Why did I allow myself to be so tormented? I thought it was normal…so I agonizingly endured it. The truth is we have what we tolerate. Yes, we are facing some tough situations that could make us crazy with fear…that’s enduring the situation. His Presence Or we can run to Jesus, humble our hearts before Him…don’t bow to the fear…but humble our hearts before Almighty God. There we worship and begin to recognize the benefits that He made available for us through His death and resurrection. In His presence we recognize that He, the GREAT I AM, the Almighty God is holding our hand. He is with you!! He is with you! His presence and the authority of His Word enable us to stand boldly against fear of every kind. Out of that revelation of “WHO HE IS” we can resist fear…command that fear to go. Fill our hearts with the truth of God’s presence and love. Stand on the Word.

A new MP3 sermon from Covenant Presbyterian Church (OPC) is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: God Overcomes Our Despair by a Revelation of Who He Is Speaker: Dr. John Wiers Broadcaster: Covenant Presbyterian Church (OPC) Event: Sunday - PM Date: 7/5/2020 Bible: 1 Kings 19:9-18 Length: 26 min.
To understand our nature, our identity, we need to consider His. To know who we are, you have to know who He is. Paul takes a moment from directly addressing the believers in Colossae to point out, or remind them, that Jesus is First, Above All; Creator Ruler and Sustainer. I want you to see that our identity in Christ is only effective because of WHO HE IS, and our Hope is based on the same. “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” [Colossians 3:3]
Like their ancestors in the desert, the crowd talking with Jesus, were looking to get their physical needs met. Jesus invited them to a greater experience than getting their physical hunger needs met momentarily. He was inviting them, as well as you and me, to an experience that would Satisfy their hunger and thirst forever. When you have tasted Jesus, embraced Jesus, accepted Jesus, put your trust in Jesus YOU WILL experience being satisfied in Jesus, and nothing else will do. What does it mean to Believe? Believing is our response in accepting Him for Who He Is. If you will believe in Jesus, “The Bread of Life”, who gives life, you will be satisfied for all eternity! Jesus is basically saying, I have taken care of your physical needs by feeding you loaves of bread and fish. Now let me take care of your spiritual needs by giving you the true and free Bread of Life. To believe in Jesus is to have faith that He is who He said He is. God’s Provision for us all is His Son Jesus – The “I AM” the Bread of Life – Who Satisfies. Speakers: Pastor Paul Hunter & Pastor Chris White

In this season, it's so easy to serve our emotions without recognizing it. We serve distraction, fear, uncertainty, and doubt in more ways than one. But what if, in this season, God wants to do something powerful through you? What if, when you set aside your small gods, you can catch a glimpse of Who He Is?
The Minchah Offering is an offering made by fire. Spiritually, fire represents the trying and testing of our faith. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:7 The Minchah offering is when we OFFER ourselves as a FREE gift to Yahweh and praise and thank and worship Him AFTER we have gone through trials, tribulations, and disappointments. We become a Minchah freewill gift offering to the Lord when we DON’T understand…and we enter into a LIFESTYLE of praise and worship because of WHO HE IS and NOT how you feel based upon your circumstances. It is a DAILY offering. The Minchah Offering is associated with reconciliation, consecration, righteousness, holiness and giving praise to the God of Israel. Powerful message by Pastor Tai Adeshugba: I Am (Watch Night 19) Happy New Year Everyone!! With WT welcoming the New Decade in style and heartfelt joyous worship unto the Lord, Pastor Tai encourages us to focus our attention on a Name. Whose name you might wonder? It is the I AM. Examining Exodus - 3:1-14, we see that Moses felt multiple conflicts (internal and external) when he was called by the Lord to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses felt incapable and unqualified to answer this call simply because He did not know exactly WHO he was. It was precisely a man like Moses the Lord wanted to use, but for this to happen Moses needed to know who he was. Likewise today (this year, this decade) the Lord wants us to know exactly WHO we are. Who we are in Him, to Him and more also to each other. Not only that He wants us to know Who HE IS to us!! For once we begin to know (and understand) the answers, we will confidently be able to answer the question ‘who am I?’ by saying ‘i am....’ As we kick off 2020, the beginning of a new chapter in our lives, always remember that The I AM, will always be - DOWNLOAD NOW to listen. You know what, Join us in WT next Sunday, say no more. JOIN US next week @WT for yet another inspiring message. Don’t forget to like and share
Greetings! Welcome to Lechem Panim! Today I want to talk to you about something very important; what to do in a situation in which Jesus may seem distant or far away; how are we to understand the various circumstances we face when He may seem to be invisible or absent. What do we do when we feel alone? And there is a passage of scripture (a very unique story) that speaks directly to this… John 6:16-21 (ESV)— 16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, 17 got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18 The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles,[a] they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” 21 Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. Jesus Nowhere in Sight-- The disciples usually had the security of the visible presence and active discipleship of Jesus. But not here in our passage this morning. Here Jesus appears to be gone. He has, as he used to do so often, withdrawn to pray. And He has sent them ahead to cross the Sea of Galilee back to Capernaum, which is where Peter lived and where Jesus' home base was; there in Peter's house. But they had to cross the Sea. And [If the feeding of the multitude {in the previous passage} took place at the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee, the shortest distance to Capernaum would be 5–6 miles (8–10 km).] And here the scripture says they had gone three or four miles. So they have roughly two miles left. But the journey is taking longer than it should because the wind is against them. Normally they could use the sail, but because the wind is blowing in the opposite direction, they are forced to row. Now to row 5-6 miles is quite a task, but to do so against the wind; against that resistance would be incredibly difficult. And plus the Bible says that in addition to the wind, the sea was rough, and it had become dark. They are caught out in the sea, in a dangerous situation, at night. And Jesus is nowhere in sight. Times of Revival and Times of Trial-- The disciples suddenly knew they were in trouble because they did not have their teacher; their Rabbi with them. But what about for you and me? What do we do when we do not sense the nearness of Christ? Sometimes things are going great; our Christian walk being a lot like having the wind of God filling our sails and carrying us along our journey. But at other times it feels like we are alone and that every step we take is just one arduous stroke after another. And this isn't just an individual thing, but can also be experienced in the life of the Church. There are times of revival when we sense the nearness of God and feel His reforming, rejuvenating power. And yet there are also periods of dryness, persecution, stress, conflict, or illness. And every person goes through these periods of difficulty. But we must stay the course; steadily rowing; looking forward to the day when Jesus will step back into the boat; and when He does we find that in reality He never left. Now the disciples are now worn out; they are tired; they feel like their efforts are fruitless. But it says then that… John 6:19b-20 (ESV)-- they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” He meant to pass by them-- Now it is important to note here that Jesus was not unaware of their trouble. In Mark's account we see that He had withdrawn to a quiet place to pray and from there he could see them in their struggle. They could not see Him, but He could see them. And when He sees their need, He comes to them. Now what is fascinating to me about Mark's account is that he says of Jesus that He meant to pass by them (Mark 6:48). Now you have to picture this because they are rowing feverishly towards land (have been for a long time) and one of them happens to look to his right and his eyes go bug-eyed because there is Jesus, calmly walking across the waves and is about to PASS THEM! He was supposed to meet them LATER at Capernaum. But He's going to pass on ahead of them! And it seems like He is completely unencumbered by the problems that (to them) seem insurmountable. And what Jesus is showing them is that none of the problems they face are ever too big for Him; He's bigger than all of it. They can't even slow Him down! And He wants them to understand that they don't need to be afraid. Because of WHO HE IS, they do not need to be afraid. That is why He says in verse 20: It is I; do not be afraid.” "I AM"— Now [Jesus' words, “It is I,” represent the Greek phrase egō eimi, which in other contexts can be translated “I am.”…] And we know that phrase is significant because that is God's name that He gives to Moses: “I AM”. And when Jesus uses that same phrase (egō eimi) later in John 8:58, the Jews pick up stones to stone Him for blasphemy; because they recognize who He is claiming to be. But looking back to this verse, we can see why it is always important to recognize who Jesus really is and the authority He commands over every situation we can possibly get ourselves into. “there is no situation…that I cannot get you out of”-- Someone once shared a story, saying: [Some years ago when I was learning to fly, my instructor told me to put the plane into a steep and extended dive. I was totally unprepared for what was about to happen. After a brief time the engine stalled, and the plane began to plunge out-of-control. It soon became evident that the instructor was not going to help me at all. After a few seconds, which seemed like eternity, my mind began to function again. I quickly corrected the situation. Immediately I turned to the instructor and began to vent my fearful frustrations on him. He very calmly said to me, "There is no position you can get this airplane into that I cannot get you out of. If you want to learn to fly, go up there and do it again." {And he says:} At that moment God seemed to be saying to me, "Remember this. As you serve Me, there is no situation you can get yourself into that I cannot get you out of. If you trust me, you will be all right." {And he says:} That lesson has been proven true in my ministry many times over the years.] Jesus Never Loses Control-- Similarly, in each and every one of our lives, Jesus never calls us into a situation that He cannot handle; that is out of His control. And we can trust God to protect us in any situation that we give Him complete control over. Because He is greater than any who could oppose us.He never loses. And God has never abandoned a person who truly loves Him; never. Where Jesus is allowed to reign, victory will always be the outcome. And this is something the disciples see so clearly when they welcome Him into the boat. Look what immediately happens. It says in… John 6:21 (ESV)-- 21 Then they were glad to take him into the boat, {and Mark's account adds that the wind ceased} and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. {In other words, they were supernaturally transported the remaining 2 miles. immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.} {Now this whole event is a remarkable fulfillment of…} Psalm 107:28-30 (ESV)— 28 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 29 He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. 30 Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. He Will Carry Us-- No matter the conditions of the weather or the conditions of the boat, if we believe in Jesus; in His sovereign power and control, we can rest assured that we are safe in His arms and that He will carry us to our destination. Cast Away: The Unopened Package-- There is this old movie that has become one of my all-time favorites; a movie called Cast Away, about a FedEx manager whose delivery plane, after running into a storm and getting off-course, crashes into the ocean, killing everyone else on board. And he is the sole survivor and is able to make it to the shore of an uncharted island. And the story is about his survival on the island; his struggle to start a fire; find shelter; that kind of thing; and the ongoing hope he has of escaping the island and being united once again with the woman he loves. But some time after the crash, packages from the plane begin to wash up on shore and he begins to open them one by one and discovers things that he can utilize. He uses the blades of a pair of ice skates to crack open coconuts for food; he uses a bunch of old video tapes to make rope. But when he gets to the final package, he sees a beautiful design on the package and hesitates. And instead of opening it, he holds onto it in the hope that one day when he might get off that island, he might return that package. And for him it became a symbol of hope. And in the end he eventually builds a raft and does get off the island (several years after the initial crash); and when he delivers that package, he leaves it on the doorstep of the person who originally sent it, saying, “This package saved my life.” It is quite a powerful story. But you know it leaves you wondering what was in the package. He never opens it; and we never find out. And I always wondered what it would have been like if in that package was the very thing he needed to be delivered off that island; like a satellite phone or a GPS location device. If it was me, I would have opened the package. Opening the Package-- But what about in our day to day struggles; when we are going through the tough times? I wonder if we don't almost make Jesus like that package. We have Him; He is always present and available to us, but we never open the package; we never take advantage of Him. We never invite Him into the boat. We would much rather oar. Now the disciples welcome Him into the boat. But notice that Jesus never assumed He's just going to get into the boat. In fact He doesn't even seem to be giving any kind of signal that He has any intention whatsoever of quieting the waves. He's merely going to pass them by. Why is that? Because Jesus is demonstrating something very profound. He is showing His disciples that He will never presume Himself upon a situation in which He is not invited. He has not yet been invited into the boat and therefore doesn't set foot inside. He was never asked to quiet the waves or to miraculously carry them to their destination; and therefore He seeks to pass them by. Notice how it is only after they welcome Him into the boat that He steps in, quiets the waves, and takes them to their destination. What a powerful demonstration of how Jesus moves. Jesus will never move in a situation in which He is not invited and welcomed into. How welcome is Jesus in your life? How welcome is He in my life? Have we invited Him in such away that He feels He has our permission to move. Now it seems silly to us that the Son of God would need to ask our permission, but that's the way He chooses to do things. God is a gentleman; He never comes into a situation uninvited. Our Storms-- Are you going through the storms of life? What do we do when we those times come? We invite Jesus back into the boat. Because we remember that no matter how bad things seem to be, He is always in sovereign control. And there is no relationship too broken; no situation so severe that it is beyond the saving power of His grace; if only we are willing to receive it; to open the package; to welcome Him into the boat. Let us welcome Him today. Amen.

Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. If we follow Him because of what He does, and not because of WHO HE IS... That doesn't lead to life. He loves us too much to let us do that. Fa is following Him even when we don't understand what He is doing, because we KNOW who He is; He is GOOD. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
This week we continued our series on the Holy Spirit. So, this week, we took a look at who the Holy Spirit is. In 1 John 1:2 it says that the Holy Spirit is our parakletos. This word, in the Greek, means one who is called to one’s side. The post Who He Is appeared first on Church On The Rock, Calera, AL.
Habakkuk series message 3Text: Habakkuk 3Habakkuk moves from wondering where God is, to waiting and clinging to God‘s character and plan, to praising Him for the same. The power of praise is compelling and transformative! When we shift our focus from “me” to “Him” and worship Him not for what He does but for WHO HE IS, it is life-changing and brings great freedom.
Our conversation is OH...so humbling to realize the magnitude of GOD's immovable character revealed by HIS faithfulness as HE cannot deny HIMSELF (II Timothy 2:12-13). Our mother, daughter conversation gets real with laughter, even a "Selah" a time or two and just plain awe as we ponder that we get to do this life in Christ...it is a truly a "get to"! We may feel alone at times, but WOW! He is so faithful that even in our instability and wavering, HE is not moved by us; HE is fixed and steady no matter what as HE cannot deny WHO HE IS! www.LetsTalkStudio.com@OH_Podcast

It is a DAILY offering. Our life is all about our service to Yahweh and our attitude regarding it and whether we pass the test. The purpose is to die to self, die to the flesh and renew our mind so that we are not carnally mind in our walk with the Lord. The killing of the flesh is a sacrifice to the LORD. The reason why your offering comes from the flock and herd is that it represents the desires of our flesh, the desires of our will, mind and emotions.
