Maximize Your Profits with Less Programs

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 26, 2024 10:15

Hey there, welcome back to the Midlife CEO Podcast! In this episode, we're diving into a topic that's super important for women coaches and service providers: how to make more money by offering fewer programs. This might sound counterintuitive, however, it can really simplify your business, boost your revenue, and increase your impact. Key Takeaways: Balancing Impact and Income: As coaches and service providers, we all want to make a difference and make an income. It's important to align your services with both goals to build a sustainable, profitable and impactful business. The Challenge of Offering Too Many Programs: Having too many programs can spread you thin and complicate your business. Each program needs its own marketing and sales system, which can be overwhelming. The Power of Narrowing Down: Focusing on fewer, high-impact programs can lead to greater success. Jeannie shares how she narrowed down her offerings to three core services, leading to her first multiple six-figure year. Resistance to Narrowing Down: Many often resist offering fewer programs, fearing it will limit their revenue growth. Jeannie explains why narrowing down can actually help you expand your impact and revenue. Action Step:  Think about how much money you want to make and how many people you want to serve. Do you think adding more services each year will make running your business easier or harder? Aim for a lean, efficient approach that lets you enjoy your work, serve clients effectively, and maximize your profits. Next Steps: Want to learn more about streamlining your business and maximizing your profits? How Structure Has Provided More Freedom in My Business

When I left corporate I couldn't wait to leave the structure behind, but those early days and months of not having it were hard on my business. Like most of the Midlife CEOs I work with who've had jobs and careers prior to starting their business, structure was typically built into their day. More freedom is a benefit to working for yourself, and while exciting to have it when you haven't had it before it can be hard to know what to focus on as your business grows. Some model what they used to do in their job and find a rhythm immediately, but then find themselves focusing on the things that aren't supporting business growth. And others have no idea what to focus on and find that having the freedom allows them to fill their time with anything or nothing if they choose. Today I talk about what I went through to develop more structure in each stage of business. How I lacked it initially and how I made some mistakes that I wouldn't make today.  I also talk about some things I've changed more recently that have provided even more structure to allow for more creativity and more self-care - because we all know Midlife CEOs need more time to take care of our bodies and beings. No matter if you're in the growth, expansion, or scaling stage of growing your coaching or service-based business, take a listen to this episode to see if you can find a little more structure to your business to support your next phase of growth. I loved this interview with Amy Flores-Young where we got to discuss hosting and planning retreats, live intensives, and events in our current times. For years I hosted four and sometimes five events a year and that didn't include all the Private VIP Retreats as well. One of the things I found challenging when I chose to work with more people and host larger mastermind retreats and live events was all the details that went into the planning. What I love about this interview is how Amy doesn't only look at making sure all the details are considered, she factors in business strategy too. We covered a lot in this interview from: What's changed in retreat planning and hosting (and what we need to consider in our current times) Why when you're scaling your business having someone support you with all the logistics of hosting events is necessary Why retreats are incredible for transformation (not only for your clients but for the coach and business owner too) What to factor in when pricing your retreats (masterminds and programs too) and how much to consider charging What's HOT (and where) right now when it comes to hosting And so much more! Personally, I cannot wait to plan my next one and this conversation sparked tons of great ideas.  Listen in and make sure to check out the resources mentioned below: Amy's website: www.floyotravel.com Amy's FREE Gift: 6 Retreat Pitfalls Find Amy on Facebook If you're a coach or business owner ready and wanting to scale your business, leverage how you're serving clients (stop working with as many clients 1:1 and serve more 1:many), learn more about Jeannie HERE.

A year ago, in my work to support women coaches and client-based business owners with the expansion of their wealth and leadership, I began questioning if I was doing enough both personally and professionally to be the leader I thought I was. I always thought I was racially conscious, inclusive, and diverse, but when I started looking at my business and myself as a business owner, I realized that there was so much more work I could be doing. As I had this awareness, I was struggling to figure out exactly where to start, what to change first, and who could lead me on this journey. It turned out that I had the perfect woman in my life to guide me. A former client and a dear person who'd been subtly giving me guidance to become a more conscious, inclusive, and diverse leader. How she grew and monetized her business (and what clicked when she made certain changes) What she's taught me to do as a business owner to become more racially conscious, diverse and inclusive (and some of the exact changes I've made in the process). What the first steps to racial consciousness are (and how to begin) How to support your clients of color And so much more.
