We are very excited about this week's guests on the Meldon Law & Friends Podcast!
Navigating this part of life myself, I know how important it is to be open and discuss the importance of movement through what can be a turbulent and confusing time. I really enjoyed talking to Dr. Katie Hilton and Dr. Laura Clark who founded The Lifestyle Health Clinic to help midlife women with their health and well-being during perimenopause and menopause; giving women time to really understand what is happening by looking at their whole lifestyle to help unlock how wellbeing can look for them. In this conversation, we discussed the multifaceted benefits of regular exercise, and focussed on empowering women to prioritise their own health and well-being, by recognising the importance of self-care, as well as always seeking support. We looked at practical strategies such as habit stacking and integrating movement into daily routines to help make sustainable lifestyle changes. We also covered the power of social connection in fostering overall health and the significance of building supportive networks. I know that without the support and openness of discussion with my friends through this time of life, it would have been a lot more difficult. The message we convey is that feeling suboptimal is not acceptable, and women should strive for optimal health and well-being by embracing movement, seeking help, and prioritising self-care during the phases of perimenopause, menopause and beyond. In this episode, Monica and Laura dive into the world of intuition and how our soul wisdom can read the signs that can lead us where we need to go. Laura Clark is one of those beautiful souls you meet along the way that gently nudges you to look more deeply at the signs that are always within our view if we dare to look, trust and believe in them. This interview was so fun because Laura and I love geeking out on signs. I loved sharing our intuitive hits with each other about the growth we've experienced as the mystery of our lives continually unfolds with grace, sass, and a whole lot of cosmic humor. Do you see signs in your life? After this episode, you'd likely start seeing them everywhere! You are welcome! Laura Clark teaches you how to access your inner knowing and align with your purpose to live your truth purposefully and passionately. Laura Clark is also a bestselling author, engaging speaker, and founder of the Wise Living Institute & Living Your truth Sisterhood. Laura champions others to awaken their purpose and inner wisdom, and to use them as a beacon in stepping confidently and courageously forward living one's own truth. As a sassy and spiritual guru, Laura believes everyone can step forward to a fuller, more joyful, and abundant life. Show Notes: * Living your truth is really knowing yourself intimately - who you are, what your purpose is, and taking simple, and yet courageous steps forward, having that be your foundation. * Laura didn't have the picket fence or the two-car garage or the 3.1 children that everybody else told her that she was going to have in her life. She was following the path of others and wasn't happy, which eventually led to depression. * When we are unbalanced it's because we are not allowing ourselves to follow our creative truths the way we want to, the way we are guided to. And so the depression came because she was ignoring what she really wanted to be doing, which forced Laura to start listening to her inner wisdom and guidance. * The golden thread of our life runs through each and every aspect of who we are and what we do. If you look for it, you'll see it. * Sometimes we have to choose a path for ourselves that has no safety net so that we can't retreat back into the comfort of what we knew. There's wisdom in this. * If you are paying attention you can start to see the signs that can lead you in the direction you need to head in. * There are many different languages of listening. Sometimes signs are taps, subtle nuances, patterns, number sequences, animals showing up in our line of sight. * Signs can also come as cosmic 2x4s. If you are not listening and paying attention, they keep coming back with more and more force, to gain your attention. * Sometimes waiting is the answer and you just have to wait until more is revealed. * All of us have access to intuition, but like anything else, you have to practice and develop your relationship with it. * The 6 Truths Sassy & Spiritual Souls Must Understand to Grow & Glow

Happy Thanksgiving (a week early!) This week's episode features Laura Clark, who spent two years in Italy. While there for the holidays, Laura made yeasted potato rolls from an old family recipe she enjoyed with her cousins at childhoold Thanksgivings. While there was pressure making the rolls for an Italian from Naples, home to the best bread in the world, Laura's rolls received rave reviews! Today, she's sharing the recipe for these rolls with us, as well as a classic cranberry tea she also enjoyed at her childhood Thanksgiving table. I especially appreciate that Laura was willing to be vulnerable in this episode about the fact that her time in Italy was both the best and the worst two years of her life, and about the creative awakening it stirred in her. # “Essence”. # “Things That Scan”. # “Noble Nature”. Laura Clark is a real deal super hero. She is donating one of her kidney's to someone that she doesn't even know in order to help them live a better life. Kidney disease is something that millions of people have to deal with every day. You probably know someone who has to deal with dialysis on a regular basis and it is such a drain on a person, and severely limits what an individual can do with their lives. Healthy people can live with one kidney, and Laura Clark is doing something incredible to help someone else by donating one of hers. But at the same time, she needs some help to make this a reality. Due to the extended period that she'll be off work, her friend has set up a #GoFundMe page to help raise money to offset her living expenses. You can help donate to her cause by visiting this page: https://www.gofundme.com/Lauras-living-expenses. If you would like to know more about how you can get involved and potentially donate a kidney to someone in need, visit Kidney.YesBrands.org.
