In my everyday work, I would guess that around 75% of my clients are so frustrated with setting goals that they just stop. Over the last few podcast episodes, I've been filling you in on the big changes that have been made over the last few months. Today, I want to tell you what you can expect going forward and how I can support you.I'm going back to private practice and one-on-one consulting practice. We've all heard that a one-on-one business model creates burnout, but I've found the opposite in my own experience. It's easier on my energy and more controllable and manageable. Fewer clients help me thrive. Money is a sensitive topic. By having a smaller roster, I'm able to do deeper coaching with each person.Groups are scalable, but many seasoned business owners don't have the time to navigate groups. I will focus on that one-on-one attention and remove the extra noise for them. This will save the time of navigating the curriculum, attending group calls, and searching to find exactly what they are looking for. I've heard feedback over the past year that people showed up on calls but did not want a group program. They'd much rather be working one-on-one, which was the nudge I needed from the universe. I understand that fewer people will be able to work with me in this way because I'll have limited space, and I'm looking for a specific match in the clients I work with.I'm keeping the email list and podcast free. In 2024, we have plans to add more free resources or lower price point offerings. Profit is something I get really excited about because it's one of the most forgotten topics in entrepreneurial circles. Most people are so revenue focused or - if they are in the online space - they are crazy about scaling. Profit is left as an afterthought, and it's also the most misunderstood. For example, the business I worked with made about $3M in revenue but ZERO profit. They thought the answer to their profit problem was 10X their revenue. Essentially, more work would equal more revenue, and more revenue would equal more profit. This is NOT true. It's rare that I sit down with a business owner and not have conversations on these topics. So, I'm super pumped to share some of my thoughts about what you need to increase your profitability. On today's podcast, I got to chat with one of my business besties, Michelle Warner. We met in a very large Facebook group back in 2014 or 2015. While all the information was being shared back and forth, we exchanged messages questioning some of the information and sharing some of our expertise. Michelle is a business designer and strategist. She believes in the mix of art and science that grows into a business. Most of her work is with businesses that have plateaued or aren't growing the way they want. She works to get them to their next plateau or stuck point, but that's what businesses do, they grow in iterations. Businesses need to find alignment, and Michelle works with business owners to figure out where they are out of alignment and get them back on track. In today's episode, I leaned into my edge around vulnerability on money and transparency. Like a game of Where's Waldo, I dove into a conversation about where my money is going, the financial goals I have in the short-term, mid-term, and long-term, and what my target allocation percentages are in my business. This is an opportunity to hear how I do things, but it's not meant to say it's the right way. Allow the information to inspire you to think creatively about your own money. Women are money hoarders. I've mentioned this statistic many times before, but research shows that 65% of women really hold onto their money and don't put it to use for them. The reason for that is a combination of not knowing how, never being taught, or not understanding how money works. I must point out that I am part of a dual-income household. Both my husband and I are bringing in personal income. There is additional income from stocks, bonds, and dividends. That income is being reinvested, but it does exist. Wealthy people have around seven revenue streams, which has been a long-term goal for my husband and me to build more to offer a buffer from the ups and downs of our own businesses. My owner statement helps give a little insight into my perspective, I want to build a business that's in service to my health while growing wealth for myself and others.
