As all news does in a high school, rumors of what happened to bright, beautiful, athletic Emma Walker spread like wildfire. Some said that she had died by suicide, but most couldn't believe that. Her life was perfect. She had a great boyfriend, she was a cheerleader, and had a close circle of friends. It just didn't seem like it could be true. But if Emma Walker did not harm herself, it meant that something far more sinister happened…that someone had wanted to hurt her. Now that didn't sound too far from the truth because in the days prior to her death odd things had been happening to the 16 year old girl. Episode 068: Before you can help basketball players in the weight room, you need a movement assessment that will quickly show a player's strengths and deficits. Dr. Gary Gray, founder of the Gray Institute and creator of 3DMAPS, joined me on the podcast to share how in just 6 movements you can assess 66 vital motions of the human body. Dr. Gary Gray is the smartest movement scientist in the world and I'm grateful to call him a friend and mentor. I remember when I first got exposed to Dr. Gray's work… It was 2004 and we’d just started U-District Physical Therapy. My business partners told me that I had to watch this series called the Functional Video Digest, so I went home and popped the tape into the VCR.I was immediately in awe of Gary's ability to see and explain how the body was one big chain reaction. He effortlessly described how the foot influenced the knee and the hip and the spine, and how the spine can influence the foot. That one moment started my journey of studying the Gray Institute. Since then I’ve completed their 40-week fellowship programs and was lucky enough to be a facilitator for the GIFT program the last couple years. I’ve also taken their Functional Soft Tissue Transformation course, their Foot/Ankle Specialization and completed their Certification in Applied Functional Science. Today I got to pick Gary’s brain on how to do movement assessments with basketball players. Now you know I’m a little biased, but I can’t say enough good things about their 3DMAPS certification, which stands for Three-Dimensional Movement Assessment and Performance System. Please know I’m not part of any affiliate program and don’t make any money if you sign up for 3DMAPS. I’m just promoting it because I use some form of the assessment or performance system every single week with my players. I can confidently say that Gary and his work has made the single biggest impact on my training philosophy as a strength & conditioning coach. Listen to this week's podcast on Movement Assessment for Basketball Players and learn:The test is the exercise and the exercise is the testHow to quickly assess your athletes every weekWhat makes a movement assessment functionalWhy assigning players a number or score isn't helpfulClick HERE to listen to his son, Doug Gray, talk about Movement For BasketballInstagram @HoopCommitmentTwitter @HoopCommitmentFacebook HoopCommitmentWebsite HoopCommitment.com

In the summer of 2000, a 15-year-old girl went missing from her small Oregon town. As police set their sights on one person in particular, a key piece of evidence comes into play, followed by a body. Although you’d think these things would help answer some questions, they do quite the opposite. This is the murder of Leah Freeman.BONUS EPISODES: http://patreon.com/goingwestpodcastLUMI CBD: http://lumicbd.comUse code "goingwest20" to get 20% off your purchase!CASE SOURCES:https://realitychatter.forumotion.com/t2857-faqs-about-leah-freeman-casehttps://theworldlink.com/leah-nicole-freeman/article_73691442-0262-518c-a40c-b47a4ee62dff.htmlhttps://theworldlink.com/news/local/suspects-father-nick-is-innocent/article_5e99c78b-3b8a-5de2-b0af-a58c9b97efa4.htmlhttps://www.google.com/maps/@43.1988341,-124.0926969,3a,75y,89.86h,90t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sr5xgbjvVGQqecSrC11qGpA!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo2.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3Dr5xgbjvVGQqecSrC11qGpA%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D353.91824%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192https://theworldlink.com/news/local/how-did-leah-die/article_ff66f7a6-af0a-11e0-8488-001cc4c03286.htmlhttps://globintel.com/usa/nicholas-nick-mcguffin-bio-wiki-age/https://www.wilsonschapeloftherosesfh.com/obituary/freeman-dennishttps://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/2011/07/before_her_disappearance_leah_freemans_mother_says_she_asked_the_coquille_girl_to_spend_less_time_wi.htmlhttps://www.findagrave.com/memorial/74084791/leah-nicole-freemanhttps://abcnews.go.com/US/man-convicted-high-school-girlfriends-killing-freed-decades/story?id=69053797https://www.law.umich.edu/special/exoneration/Pages/casedetail.aspx?caseid=5664

Gary Gray discusses and answers this question from Steve in North Dakota. “ When Gray Institute says triadox what does that mean”? Gary Gray answers this question from Luann. “ What is the difference between the Functional Movement System (FMR©) as compared to 3DMaps©?
Dr. Gray goes deep on the topic of human functional movement and how The Gray Institute differentiates themselves from the competition with 3DMAPS® (3D Movement Assessment and Performance System). Dr. Gary Gray received his initial education as a physical therapist in the mid-1970s. He immediately pursued additional training as an athletic trainer, personal trainer, and as a strength and conditioning coach. Realizing the common thread of creating transformational environments to enhance the lives of others being the science of movement, he developed the discipline of Applied Functional Science®. With his ongoing passion and mission of learning and sharing more, and with the goal of educating, empowering, and encouraging others through an appreciation of the wonderfully and fearfully made human body, Dr. Gray established the Gray Institute. Gary has been married to his 7th grade sweetheart (Cindi) since 1976 and has been blessed with two sons and daughter-in-loves (Brad and Shallon, Doug and Valerie) and six grandchildren (Denyon, Aryah, Calyx, Zion, Xyler, and Lawson). January 2020 Gray Institute Podcast Show Notes Gary Gray discusses and answers the question from Dr. Brian Rafool. "I think you would agree that it is important to expose the nervous system to potentially harmful stresses and motions, helping an individual to be better prepared for the inevitable when it occurs at real speed. Isn't it just as important to expose individuals to ideally centrated joints, posture, and diaphragmatic control? Do you feel this is a waste of time because those gains will not effectively transfer in the heat of the battle?" Gary Gray answers this question from Russia. What will I be able to do after I complete 3DMaps®?

Episode 043 - After over 6 years of apparent harassment and a number of, what appeared to be violent assaults, Cindy James, a 44-year old nurse, went missing in May of 1989. On June 8, 1989, two weeks later, Cindy's family's greatest fears were realized. She was found dead near an abandoned home in Richmond B.C., a suburb of Vancouver. She appeared to have been drugged and strangled, with her hands and feet tied behind her back. A medical inquest into the cause of Cindy's death was inconclusive, leaving this one of the most talked about unsolved cases in Canadian history.
